Honoring Chef Miki Izumisawa, the female, award-winning sushi artist, originally trained by the one and only Nobu Matsuhisa. Miki was inspired by nature to create unique nigiri, cut rolls and hand rolls that blur the line between art and fusion sushi. Miki's recipes transform elements of the natural world with names such as Lava Flow, Moon and Sun, Feather in the Sky, and Prairie. Before her passing, Miki carefully coached outstanding female-only sushi chefs to execute her masterpieces. Her legacy continues in this romantic styled coastal, intimate sushi bar and cozy 18 window seats with views of Laguna's main beach. Owners Chris Olsen and Greg Washer are longtime locals who appreciate what Miki did for this community with an outstanding Japanese experience pushing the boundaries of tradition. Alex are server is outstanding and all the other servers in the restaurant were great. They really work as a team you are never kept waiting with their excellence and service. Food was outstanding. Lamb chops were extremely tender and the Christakis combo platter gives you a great sampling of everything. Wonderful selection of wines thank you for a wonderful evening.

In life, the reward is in the act itself, and everyone from the front of the house to the back of the house makes every effort to provide amazing service to everyone who comes in. My daughter deviated from her usual and went straight for the Chicken Parmigiana that was wonderfully prepared by Chef Josh. Although I usually bring in my own bottles to pour at the restaurant, I love seeing how the wine list has evolved to include some of my faves, especially Sin Qua Non. Courtney is hands down one amazing and authentic soul… it’s been a pleasure being a guest at her table. Chris, it’s time to graduate Hadley to a server, we all know you won’t regret it! The consistency, the loyalty and vibe of Wine Gallery makes it easily one of the best dinning experiences in Laguna. We are going to miss our nights here after we move but I hope many more will soon discover and fill our spot at Wine Gallery.

This was our first visit to Cappy’s at the recommendation of our son. Great service and food! Made a reservation and sat right down when we arrived. It was a little warm inside and noisy but the ambience was nice and had an ocean feel. The huevos rancheros was delicious (but the sauce had a lot of onions which we asked for none). Overall a really nice breakfast. We travelled over an hour to try it.

When you think Italian this is the perfect restaurant to visit. From special appetizers to delicious entrees we’ve never gone wrong. The Osso buco is outstanding and the chicken piccata follows. The staff treats you like a friend as Sinatra music (that evening)completes the dining experience. Looking forward to our next visit which will be very soon.
