The ambiance of the Penthouse was a wonderful throwback to elegant quietness. The student waitstaff could not be more enthusiastic and willing to cater to our every need. The French cuisine was beautifully prepared. My wife enjoyed the charcuterie. My salmon Rillette was beautifully presented (if, a little tasteless. My only minor complaint). Wife had the Coq au Vin. It was excellent. I had the poached fish. The Beurre Blanc was sublime! Despite our concern that we didn't have enough room for dessert, my wife wasted no time gobbling up her Creme Brulee and I wasted no time digging into my pumpkin cheesecake. A wonderful experience that we will do again.

About the restaurant
Tavern at the Point is a friendly neighborhood tavern with a pub style menu and a full service bar selection of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails.
Patti and Chic Perrin took over Old Point Tavern in 1990 from James Newlin who operated the 401 Mass Ave corner bar since 1954. The bar itself dates back to 1887 when the location’s first liquor license was obtained. Old Point Tavern was the second oldest bar in Indianapolis after Slippery Noodle on Illinois and South.
Nachos and half pints, laughing guests and full bowls of chili brought locals and visitors to the authentic tavern experience. Nostalgia and stories kept the corner space a favorite of Indianapolis’ bar scene alive for many years.
When the Perrins decided it was time to retire, they went to Cunningham Restaurant Group to pass on the baton of the iconic corner of hospitality. “It’s bittersweet, but we’re super excited about the Cunningham Group” Patti Perrin told Indy Star in the announcement in January 2018.

Greencastle
About the restaurant
Craft pizzas, housemade pastas; an incredible assortment of wines and much more!

Sometimes one good idea leads to another. Such is the case with Bridges. With the success of Music on the Square, we began imagining what could happen next. The location next door (19 North Indiana) was up for sale, so we bought it and began thinking of what would be complementary. We started imagining Bridges as a wine bar offering interesting wines to Greencastle. But we soon added a wood burning pizza oven from Italy and more of a restaurant evolved. Ultimately, the idea of Bridges Wine Bar was born. The basement has become a private dining room called The Cellar, an open terrace area on top of the building, which will be used in nice weather, called The Rooftop, and there will be three fully furnished rental apartments which we call The Lofts at Bridges.

We hope you will like our addition to the Square of Greencastle.

We had another wonderful dining experience at Bridges! We are there frequently 0n Friday nights. We started with the Wexler Manhattans. The best Manhattan I have ever had. Fortunately, the Oysters Florentine were on the menu. One of our favorites, they never disappoint. Our entrees were great; salmon perfectly grilled for me, my wife had Shishito Peppers and the Burrata Salad. The service is attentive, friendly and personal. I highly recommend. 10 out of 10. Give it a try!

Have always enjoyed Vida before and this time was no different. They were able to accommodate my dietary sensitivities. Every dish was beautifully presented and flavorful. We enjoyed the regular wine pairing and the reserve wine pairing. It was fun to compare their choices. Service was prompt and attentive. Halfway through our meal the pleasant atmosphere was disturbed when one of the staff raised all the blinds including the one by our table. It would have been nicer to have had the choice to raise it or keep it lowered but that was not offered. As for value, you definitely get high quality food well prepared and artistically presented. We think it’s a reasonable value.
