Great Ambience, lovely decor. Food and cocktails were top class. Waiter could have been more attentive, paid cash (bill arrived as a card payment even though we asked for cash) and they told us it can’t be changed. After a brief negotiation it was miraculously changed. Cash is not king here in Budapest (everywhere wants Card payment). Would still recommend and would have been 5 stars otherwise.

We are on holiday and although not staying at the Gresham Hotel, I wanted somewhere special to celebrate my birthday breakfast and chose The Kollaz Bistro. I booked online from the UK 2weeks ago. From the minute we arrived at this beautiful hotel I was warmly greeted by my first name and shown to a nice table for 2 by the window, overlooking The Chain Bridge. Our waitress was a lovely girl ( might be called Sara ) who welcomed us and told us the layout of the menu. Our food was delicious. I had Avacado Toast and my husband had the French toast. I also was excited to see I was sitting next to the table of a big Hollywood movie star !!! A birthday I will remember. Thank you to all the staff.

Éttermünk 2011 nyara óta van jelen a budai várnál. A ’Terrace’ szó nem hiába került bele az elnevezésbe, hiszen a vendégek valóban úgy érezhetik, hogy egy másik világba, idilli környezetbe csöppentek, elég helyet foglalni a buja zöld növényzettel körülölelt terasz asztalainál. A kerthelyiség szinteltolásos építészeti kialakítása, a felső részen helyet kapott grillkonyha, a kényelmesen és tágasan elhelyezett bútorzat otthonos hangulatot teremt.

Our guests can indeed feel that they got into another world, an idealistic scene, it is enough to take a seat at the tables of the terrace surrounded by lush, growing greens. The leveled architectural design of the terrace, the higher level of the grill kitchen, the comfortably and loosely placed furniture, creates an intimate and also cozy feeling.

We went for my husband's birthday and we had luggage as we were on the way to the airport. The staff were amazing as they kept our luggage safe and were able to enjoy the meal. Also baby friendly too as they have us a table with space for a pram. The food was beautiful, I felt like I was in Italy. The portions were generous , food was well seasoned no need to add anything else. The cocktails, mocktails, wine and beers were all yummy too. All freshly made can also see the pizza oven. The staff recommended the risotto and it was the best risotto I have had. We had a group of 6 adults and everyone enjoyed their meal.The staff really know the menu and drinks which is lovely and were able to give good recommendations. The location is very charming too within the mountain like and with trees and plants. So rustic and beautiful. Will be visiting again when I go back to Budapest.

According to an old teaching it’s impossible to firm the knowledge of something that we don’t know, therefore training and continuously educating our colleagues is an important part of our daily routine…!

We take great care of assembling the wine list, offering from the best domestic wineries with some specialities.

We reopened Macesz after the pandemic in the spring of 2022. We can not wait to meet again our haunters and new guests as well.

The restaurant is suitable for exclusive events with up to 60 people as well.

Macesz Bistro is one of the most exciting culinary spots in downtown Budapest, an excellent choice for a romantic dinner, a family lunch or a business meeting.

Booked at the last minute and was able to reserve a table for two. The restaurant filled up during the evening and there was a happy, sociable buzz around us. The quality of the food was excellent but the portions over generous. Quite pricey but very enjoyable nevertheless.

Garden above the city, where you can admire a special place of relaxation. Here, in the shadow of a Doric column, you can admire the magnificent view of the city. The Eiffel-designed Nyugati Railway Station is a stunning building just a short walk away from us. In the distance you can see the Castle of Buda, the Fisherman Bastion and Gellért Hill. The Sky Garden awaits guests with special cocktails and snacks and can hold up to 50 people.
For group bookings above 4 people please contact us via e-mail at mystery@mysteryhotelbudapest.com. Our largest table can hold maximum 14 people. Minimum consumption fee applies above 4 people, 5000 HUF/person/occasion.
Until 6th October, Sky Garden Rooftop Terrace is open from 15:00 till 23:00. Should the weather conditions be not suitable for serving on the top floor we reserve the right to return to the Great Hall Restaurant.
From 7th October, the Sky Garden Rooftop Terrace will be closed until late spring 2025.
