Such a great find for breakfast & we were glad that our hotel recommended JK’s to us (the hotel kitchen was closed for breakfast). The staff were welcoming & friendly plus they were knowledgeable on the ingredients and suppliers, including the delicious locally sourced blend of Earl Grey Tea. The menu provide so much choice for all appetites and food preferences - it was difficult to chose! Only one minor area for improvement was the need to toast the bread more as it was a bit lightly done & not crispy (but accept this is a personal choice)

Café
Donnybrook
About the restaurant
Happy Out is adding another string to its bow and taking on the Dublin brunch scene. At the weekend there will be an adventurous brunch menu with a variety of coffees and brewing methods to explore. During the week, we will be giving the people what the want; coffee, toasties and a full breakfast menu.

There are seats in the middle around the open kitchen so you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of everything going on. Down the back there is a bright mezzanine area with a skylight and then we have some outdoor table in our lovely sun trap out the back.

This brick and mortar style cafe is the love child of one of the owners, Brian. Taking inspiration from his travels around the world and his family kitchen. The breakfast tacos from his trips around Central/South America, The Levain flatbread from his sourdough starter and soufflé pancakes from eating his way around Japan.

Lunch for my sister‘s birthday. I had mentioned it was her birthday on booking and as I arrived they asked me her name and said they would sort it out . The welcome on arrival and the beautiful and pleasant service is very special. We had the tasting menu which was exquisite . From the faultless explanation of each dish and the chef‘s obvious homage to excellence in ingredients and cooking , each plate was a joy in taste and pleasure . The wine chosen for my sister which was a glass of red and dessert wine were exceptional and perfectly paired . The style of service allows you to pace yourself as it should for a meal of such quality . A wonderful experience and memory and one to be repeated . Thank you to everyone for making us feel special and also for the happy birthday chorus !
