Les Nomades is the best restaurant in Chicago if you want to have incredible traditional French cuisine, wonderful service, and a moderately quiet room where everybody at your table can hear well. While expensive, it is good value because it is a wonderful experience for a special occasion. The braised Wagyu beef short rib was incredible. The food and sauces range from delicate to bold but always satisfying. The four or five course meal plus an amuse bouche and palate cleansing sorbet makes for a wonderful variety of food without going overboard on the number of courses.

My son chose Angelo's Wine Bar for his birthday dinner. We had a wonderful experience. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, especially the excellent sommelier who selected some of the best wine I've ever tasted to pair with our meal. The food was outstanding, appetizers, entrees, and deserts. The only downside to the evening was that we were seated at a high top, which was uncomfortable for my husband, who has a bad knee. Given that we made our reservation the same day, no regular tables were available. We'll be sure to book further in advance next time, as we will definitely be back!!

About the restaurant
Pasta Veneta was born out of a love for authentic Italian cooking and an appreciation for the family recipes that our grandmothers had baked and cooked throughout the years.
We particularly value the atmosphere and the energy that comes from conviviality, synonymous with sharing.

Pasta Veneta is one of our city's little hidden gems!! I have visited twice and have not been disappointed with anything. Pasta is homemade and outstanding preparations. Always a fresh fish selection, apps are seasonal and delicious. Service was polite and friendly (ask for Axel) The host at the front door could use a little personality or maybe at least a smile otherwise all was terrific at this Italian restaurant....can't wait to share with more friends and family!!

The food and service are always top notch! I still miss the old decor. The decor is fine, but it is nothing special.
