I've been in Michelin starred restaurants that aren't as exceptional. Service is outstanding, the sommelier knowledge and flexibility top-notch, and the food incredible. You won't necessarily be 'stuffed' at the end but that's not why you visit a place like this. Fantastic for special occasions. Bonus, the car valets are courteous and careful.

Bellevue
About the restaurant
From the owners of Il Terrazzo Carmine, one of Seattle"s most iconic and beloved establishments, comes Carmine's Bellevue. Carmine's Bellevue brings to the east side the same level of quality in service, food, and ambiance that has made its sister restaurant a true institution in Downtown Seattle. Located at 88 102nd Avenue in Bellevue's historic Old Bellevue neighborhood, Carmines is nestled against Bellevue Park. With a rustic, timeless interior, Carmine's provides patrons an escape from the increasingly urbanized way of life. Upscale and elegant, Carmine's feels anything but stiff and pretentious. Good for business meetings, special occasions, or simply dining with loved ones, Carmine's Bellevue is a true destination on the east side.

About the restaurant
Known as chef to the winemakers, Chef Russell Lowell is a hands on chef. Cutting all our proteins in house during the day and working the grill at night. He creates a menu that considers seasonality and wine pairings. We are a local favorite in the Bothell area. Located in a historic hay barn, we are the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or a date night away from the kids.

Our group of four had a wonderful meal sitting inside. Right away we were served focaccia bread and water. Once we ordered it only took 15 minutes or so to get our food. We had chicken parmigiana, pasta carbonara, and pasta bolognese, as well as a wonderful glass of a red blend wine. Our server was great, efficient, and cheerful. She had no problem splitting the check three ways. Definitely would go again.

Always love this restaurant, they were short staffed so the service was off but I don’t blame the server. My fettuccine was overcooked. But I will be back because I think this was just an off night.

We haven’t been to Purple in ages. Need someplace to have a celebratory lunch for Mom’s 94th birthday. Figured Purple Cafe would be perfect. Upscale cafe, not too noisy. We were seated promptly. Service pace was relaxed, giving us time to settle and make choices. Two of our party had to get back to work so hoping they weren’t stressed by the pace. Food was delicious. Three of us enjoyed the cranberry/chicken salad. The light dressing is delish. Our two guys chose the lunch combo. Both enjoyed very much. Almost had a snaffu when Inwas trying to pay via the inKind app for the first time. I was confused as to where my discount was take off. While my server didn’t know, another server was an expert and told me I needed to hit the Review Transaction button, not review receipt. Yay! Snaffu resolved. Nice to get reacquainted with Purple. We’ll be back.
