The krō bär is an eclectic bar with a speakeasy vibe and a passion for spirits and great food with a nod to another era.

Tucked away on Main Street in Bothell, a walkable neighborhood teaming with local art, culture and food, the artfully handcrafted krō bär has been reclaimed from the bones of Bothell’s historic hardware store in the Mohn building. The 16-foot-high tin ceilings, a hanging catwalk and the original wood floors were uncovered and restored.

Please note we are 21 and older only.

Due to the size of our location, we are unable to seat parties of more than 4 guests.

The unique menu of delightful bar bites features new and favorite tastes crafted by proprietor John Howie and executive chef Jed Laprade.
Whiskey by John Howie is available for private events. This 1,420 square foot space - which can accommodate up to 84 people for private events - features rich, dark woods complemented by dark brick and gold accents that give the room a comfortable, stylish feel. Hundreds of rare and sought after whiskey titles elegantly adorn the main wall, just above Whiskey’s open kitchen space. John Howie Catering offers a diverse range of chef-designed specialty menus that can be customized to the unique needs and style of each event.

Just a great experience! A very intimate setting yet welcoming and very friendly. The owner was our server and she made everyone feel as if they were dining in her home. The food was outstanding from the appetizers to the desserts - well prepared, incredible portions - never had a such a meaty lambshank - with such unique tastes. My wife's pasta dish was as flavorful as any we experienced on a private wine and food tour in Italy! Looking forward to returning to Montalcino to sample another incredible menu selection!

We sat outside on a beautiful fall day and it was perfect. Drinks were excellent and my friend and I decided to split the cuban and chicken/artichoke pizza. Great choices!!! Highly recomment.

Had the omnivore tasting menu, while my wife had the vegetarian menu with some vegan substitutions. The food was as good as expected (my wife preferred it to the food at The Herb Farm, although the latter is more of an experience), and the wine pairing was an excellent match. The quantity wasn't too little exactly, but at the same time I wasn't sorry I'd forgotten to skip lunch, which I'd typically do for a tasting menu. Service was also excellent: attentive without being at all intrusive. I loved that the tables were large enough that we could sit either facing or side-by-side.
