Callie represents Chef Travis Swikard's debut solo project after spending a decade working alongside the esteemed Chef Daniel Boulud in New York City. The restaurant’s name, "Callie," comes from the Greek word "kallos," meaning "the most beautiful," and embodies its blend of Mediterranean cuisine with local ingredients and terroir, from sea to land from San Diego, Swikard's hometown. In 2022, Callie was acclaimed as one of America's top new restaurants by Esquire and Robb Report, and received both a Bib Gourmand and a Plate from the Michelin Guide. Callie is a dedicated supporter of Feeding San Diego, having contributed over 1 million meals to those in need in San Diego since its launch. Swikard is set to open his second restaurant in La Jolla in 2025.

Gorgeous view of vineyards from restaurant. Beautiful inside, very fine dining look but a casual atmosphere. The staff were all top notch. The food was AMAZING. We came for lunch so had sandwiches and burgers. I have to say the french fries were out of this world! If you like your fries a little crisp you need to come here, they were perfection. The burger lived up to its award winning status too. I highly recommend Pinnacle, we will be coming back. Oh and the wine was excellent too!!

First time diner and chose Mimoza because our group of 4 were going to a comedy show. Arriving for a 6 o'clock reservation, we were greeted promptly and shown to a table in the middle of the restaurant. The service was solid and friendly and the food was quickly delivered. Very Pro! The eggplant (not in tomato sauce), the Turkish salad and the salmon dish stood out to our party. My only knocks were that because the doors and windows were open, the street noises interrupted our conversations several time - guess to be expected given its corner location and proximity to Horton Plaza parking (Which is super-expensive! Avoid at all costs if possible!), a street where drivers couldn't suppress their need to honk their horns, and corners full of drunk people. I might try this spot again, but maybe for lunch or mid-week if I'm downtown.
