Food, drinks, service were great! This is a small place and the food is made to order; so, you have to enjoy the signature cocktails and appetizers before dinner.

Uptown
About the restaurant
Shaya restaurant marries Israeli staples with Southern flavors and modern techniques, striking a balance between innovation and tradition. Shaya approaches Israeli cuisine as a grand mosaic, drawing influence and inspiration from North Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Turkey and Greece. The contemporary menu reflects the ongoing evolution of Israeli food and celebrates the abundance of Louisiana. Shaya highlights seasonal, responsibly- and locally-sourced ingredients.

The wood-fire oven is central to both the menu and the dining experience, from the incredible homemade, wood-fired pita to vegetable-centric small plates and heartier entrees. Many of the dishes on the diverse menu are meant to be shared and enjoyed throughout many courses.

Steakhouse
Gretna
About the restaurant
The Red Maple was originally owned and operated by the Trauth Family, a German-American family of restaurateurs spanning 100 years in Gretna. And what began in 1963 continues to this day, holding to its German roots through its rustic Alpine lodge decor, extensive beer selection and annual Oktoberfest celebration. In fact, it was a red maple tree in the side yard that inspired the name of the bar – The Red Maple – with the restaurant being added in 1965.

Now for over 50 years, The Red Maple has been the rendezvous spot for West Bank movers and shakers known for its Prime cut steaks, New Orleans favorites and fresh Louisiana seafood.

Today, under the passionate guidance of Proprietor Brent Trauth and his sister, Carroll Gales, The Red Maple continues to deliver on its reputation for delicious food, exceptional service and rich Louisiana history. A rich and storied past that is only upstaged by the dining experience itself.

Israeli
Covington
About the restaurant
Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community. Executive Chef Fariz Choumali leads the kitchen and brings his Lebanese Roots to life through staples from the Shaya menu plus new dishes. The menu will highlight an array of small plates, hummus, sandwiches, and slow-roasted meats.

I have been to mofo twice in the last two weeks and was absolutely delighted. The food was excellent and I had the same server both times who was knowledgeable, competent and efficient. I did not feel it all rushed and he very much knew the menu and the wines. One of my new favorite places.!

Thai
Uptown
About the restaurant
SukhoThai, serving our "Classical Thai Cuisine" in New Orleans since 2003, is the only restaurant in Louisiana awarded a Thai Select Premium certification by the Royal Thai Government for quality Thai cuisine, superior service and beautiful interior design. We are well known for our excellent seafood dishes, wok-fired stir-fries, traditional curries and noodles, and our extensive vegan menu. We don't hold back when it comes to spices - we are serious about Thai chilies! But we always customize the spice level to your liking.

We look forward to seeing you!

We love the new Uptown location. Nicely decorated interior, very nice staff and very good food. We often meet people here when looking for a relative deal in Uptown. All four of us enjoyed our food. One of us got a level 2 spiced cashew chicken, and, she was surprised at the heat. So definitely go level 1 if you’re not into a hot chili spice. Our only drawback this visit is that we were seated very near the bar (clanking glassware/dishes right behind us) and on the other side, an extremely loud talker…wowing and whistling and basically being louder than an excited child with a deep-booming grown man voice. I wanted to tell him to please use his inside voice, he’s not at a ballpark. Luckily they were halfway done when we were seated. After they left, it was lovely except when the bartender (I assume) tossed dishwater and glasses in a bin behind the bar. I’ll definitely ask to be in the back dining room next reservation. But we love Sukho Thai.
