About the restaurant
The toast of the Texas coast.
How can frozen fish be called fresh? The answer for anyone with snap is simple: it can’t. That’s why Gaido’s is the classic choice for fresh Gulf seafood. Patrons know Gaido’s is real, when others are clearly not. From red snapper and blue crab to white tablecloths crumbed with panache, there’s no denying Gaido’s is one-of-a-kind in a world of imitation. Now, after four generations of filleting, frying, grilling and baking, Gaido’s has grown into the picture perfect place of traditions– birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, reunions. As the largest fresh fish house on the coast, Gaido’s can serve up to 2,500 happy diners a day. Plus, with the Pelican Club, private dining, catering, a new food truck and parking galore…it’s easy to see why Gaido’s -– for over 100 years – is truly the coastal classic.

About the restaurant
In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

Definitely make reservations. The margarita on the rocks is better than the frozen one. The side salads are delicious and big! The shrimp and fettuccine is big enough for 2! The fried shrimp was large and very tasty. The grilled shrimp was extra good! Wonderful experience and will definitely return!

About the restaurant
An American Fine-ish Dining establishment inspired by local ingredients and French cuisine, with a dash of artistic liberty and a lot of personality.

Think the type of French cuisine you’d see at a dinner party hosted by your Aunt who summers in Provence, says Paris like “Pear-REE”, but also drinks beer only from a can with a koozie. American Fine-ish Dining is serious about its European flavors and techniques, but is also conscious of the very real need to chill out when 30 yards from the beach. Guests can expect progressive American-by-way-of-France cuisine that feels distinctly like the regional cuisine Texans have traditionally flocked to Galveston for.

The Fancy at Hotel Lucine sits neatly at the intersection of 10th & Seawall Blvd - we're about as close to the water as a hotel can get without high tide lapping at your bedside.

Our 39th anniversary was amazing! We ordered tuna carpaccio, Caesar salad, crab cake small, mussels with toast as smalls. Bigs were roasted chicken and red snapper. The four of us were very pleased with every bite. We dine together frequently and all agreed that we would love to come again. We ordered two bottles of Malbec and tried a Cabernet Sauvignon offered by the sommelier. Malbec opened beautifully. Cab was jammy good. Complimentary butter cake with crème brûlée was literally devoured in seconds. Kudos to the chef for presentation and quality of ingredients. Our waitress (an Ecuadorian molecular biology student, was very knowledgeable and made great suggestions.🌹🌹🌹 We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Run don’t walk to the Fancy🍾🍾🍾 PS Bring a wrap or jacket. The much appreciated a/c works😎😎😎

Dinner here never disappoints. The food is delicious, a bit pricey but the portions are plentiful. They are changing some things in the menu so they didn’t have any oysters or their wonderful Brie appetizer but we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and it was wonderful. My husband and son-in-law had the gumbo and said it was the best they ever had. Our waiter Camilo was very attentive and made our experience very pleasant. I highly recommend and will definitely be back again.

Always such a great dining experience! The food was top notch and service was exceptional. The noise was a little more than I expected but it was during summer vacation with lots of big parties dining so it should be expected. Always great dining!

I love this place and always visit when in Galveston. I do wish the animation would last longer (it used to years ago), but it’s still a fun place to visit. Service was excellent.
