   Beautiful rich dining atmosphere. Delicious meal, best in Richmond, VA. We can't wait to go back soon. Highly recommend Ruth's Christ Steak House. Go Celebrate any day.

   Ruth Chris on Hugeonot Road is such a very special establishment and we are quite fortunate to have superior management staff that is serious about ensuring fine dining occurs in the most lovely historical house. Great service, food, ambiance, and music that is consistent, continues to be delivered to diners. Recently, dinner on Saturday evening for five was beyond outstanding. Not one complaint or comment for any improvement can be made; it was an exceptional evening from the time we entered the restaurant to enjoy a leasurely three hour dinner with live piano music, and exemplary dishes served by the most attentive server, Austin. He was impeccable regarding his timing to collet orders and make later inquiries for any potential requests. Kudos to the unseen kitchen staff that did it again.... all food was prepared and arrived as order, beautifully presented, and hot. If you have not tried Ruth Chris, you will find that it just might be the most wonderful dining experience you will encounter in Richmond. It is our favorite place for dinner and to enjoy a relaxing evening of fine piano music with exceptional meals. Over the years, we have also enjoyed the adjacent bar on occasion for great hamburgers and yummy sides, and not to be missed, is early dinner on the patio; what at treat! Do not wait for a special occasion, just have dinner one evening and be spoiled! Ensure Austin is working and ask for him.

   From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The hostess greeted us warmly, and our server was the perfect balance of professional and personable—attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without sounding rehearsed. You could tell the staff genuinely cared about making the evening special. The steaks—true to Ruth’s Chris reputation—arrived sizzling, seasoned beautifully, and cooked to absolute perfection. The filet practically melted in your mouth, and the New York strip was perfectly cooked and had exceptional flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes are crowd-pleasers as well. Ruth’s Chris knows how to make an evening feel special. Whether you’re marking a holiday or just treating someone who deserves to feel celebrated, they deliver elegance and excellence without missing a beat. This early Mother’s Day dinner reminded us that when it comes to quality, some traditions are worth keeping—and Ruth’s Chris lives up to its name, every time.    The wait staff was too short and our waiter appeared to have too many tables; he was very busy whole time. The plates fit the portions but no room to slice or to fit servings from sides. When I sliced into my lamb chop , grease spattered onto my blouse. An anniversary dinner for that price point should have been more intimate. Was seated at a table for 4 instead of 2. Dessert menus were laid down and complimentary desert for anniversary was not presented until after we had declined desert and we were waiting for check. From time check was asked for, took 40 mins to walk out.

   As usual our steaks were cooked to perfection! Service was excellent with a nice atmosphere of classical music in the background. We will be back!

    Overall, it was very good, as expected at all of the Ruth Chris restaurants that I have been to. We tried something new, the bone in filet, which was just okay, according to my husband. The flavor was good, but it was tough ( surprisingly) near the bone. Maybe it is supposed to be that way, but we were surprised. Everything else was fantastic, and we will be back.
