    Among the best steaks on the planet, Ruth's Chris is legendary for perfect and distinctive preparation and serving the finest beef dishes available - anywhere. The Palm Desert location continues to deliver on the promise of "best steaks - period!" Perhaps it's their buttery sizzle plates or where they source (and how they age) their beef, or ??? Whatever it is, it's as close to perfect as exists. Our server, Michael, was quite professional -- available when useful and not "hovering" or asking (then answering) senseless questions (as is too often the case in restaurants, these day). Well-managed, excruciatingly clean, and attentive service from the door to the table and throughout the meal. Marvelous!

    Ruth's Chris might be my dad's favorite restaurant, but I never need to return again. The food is average at best. My dad's steak had gristle running through it and he had to saw through it. However, it was cooked a perfect medium rare. I had the salmon and shrimp and a baked potato. The 6" baked potato came with about 1 1/2 tablespoon of sour cream- had to ask for more. It was not really hot and to me seemed under-baked. My salmon was very boring and the 3 shrimp were so small. Our service was good and attentive, though we waited a VERY long time for our food,- 15 minutes after our server told us it would be out in 5 minutes (not his fault). The restaurant was busy and loud from customers. However, the music was also loud (so unnessesary). I asked 3 different times if they could turn it down. They said they did but I know they did not. Our kind server moved us to another table. We just wanted to get out of there. Absolutely underwhelming experience with just average food.

    Happy Hour was wonderful and the food is great too...Mark I believe was our server and was attentive and helpful. Wish there was more room however, the bar area gets packed so glad we came early. The sliders were everyone's favorite and I had the happy hour shrimp...just delicious
