Ruth's Chris Steak House - Lahaina
When you visit Ruth's Chris, you soon understand that this is no ordinary restaurant. From the USDA prime steaks, broiled to perfection in a trademark 1800 degree oven and served on a plate heated to 500 degrees, to the expertly executed seafood, island fresh fish, New Orleans inspired appetizers, unforgettable desserts and an award winning wine list, this is a steakhouse to which others aspire.
The food was great, overall experience was very good
Food was good. Never got our bread. Giant fly found in drink. Server and bartender were nice. Just hard to recover after finding fly after finishing most of drink.
Not our best Ruth Chris experience. This location does not seem to be doing great? There were very few people here and it just wasn’t an amazing experience. The food was good but not amazing. The price was a bit high for the meal. $300 for dinner means I want something amazing. This wasn’t it.
Also, although the server was nice, he overcharged us on the bill for an entire meal? Really, he needed to review the bill before submitting it to us. This was a large and expensive oversight.
All in all, we don’t need to come back here on our yearly visits. It’s just not worth it.
It was my husbands bday celebration. We went for the steak and lobster special advertised in the paper.
Funny, it wasn't on the menu- anyway- it was fabulous. Dinner was great. My husband ordered the wedge salad, and hat with the bread, he was full. I ate both lobsters and took home the steak. Desert treats were great- strawberries flambe and of course chocolate.
Service was also very attentive.
Great service and excellent food, pleasant and helpful staff. A little pricey but worth the money. I always like the quite and calm atmosphere. The women’s restroom needs a renovation though.
Great food and located very close to the beach. The service is impeccable.
Ruth Chris has absolutely the BEST steak snd Caesar salad! It is our favorite steak place surpassed by none. Service was excellent ! Location is beautiful! Went there twice on our 14 day vacation. Will definitely dine at this location on our next trip to Maui!
Ruth’s Chris has always been our favorite. This was the first time we visited this one in Laihana, while on vacation. As always steak was perfect! But what I wanted to note was their customer service. Both our server and manager were outstanding. The manager Chris was so helpful! He went above and beyond! We lost our parking ticket, and the parking security would not accommodate us at all, even though we had validation for 4 hours! Long story short the manger Chris walked out with us to the parking security and sorted it all out. He was so nice and so helpful I couldn’t help but leave review about how Chris saved the night !
Steak was severely over cooked. Very expensive and they allow small children to act like animals. Table next to us has THREE small children all screaming that the other farted the entire time
Great meals, great service. Staff were all friendly and tried to communicate with us even we are not English speakers.
Food was awesome. Portion was little big for asian like us. We ordered 1 salad, 1 fish main, 1 side (creamed spinach), and t-bone steak for 3 and we were so full!
But I will definitely recommend my friends to go when any of them got a chance to visit Maui.
36th Anniversary dinner and Ruth’s Chris was wonderful as usual.
Mandy was so sweet and constantly attentive
Couldn’t have asked for a better celebration!!
Four two couples the price was very high. We are all retired own home on Maui The portions are small. Good taste but very small. The hula grill is the best for value Two couple can stuff there self including drinks for less money.
Great food and service going the extra mile to prepare our special request by the Sous Chef while the Chef was out..
Ruth’s Chris is always pretty predictable. However, this one broke a few expectations. My wife ordered her steak med well, it came to the table med rare, we sent it back and it came back well done and dry. Ugh. The waitress usually has us check the doneness of our steaks when they hit the table. They did not on this occasion and it took about 15 my no for us to report our issue. Just not typical for RCS. They did comp is a desert which was a nice gesture.
Our meals were PERFECTLY prepared. Couldn’t get any better Filet. Service was spot on. Great location. We will be returning again before our vacation ends!
Ryan was an exceptionally good server. Food was what I expect at a RC, on par with the better ones in the chain I have visited. Atmosphere lacked. Booths were comfy but too brightly lit for a restaurant of this calibre. Server assistant scraping leftovers of the booth next to us into take out containers was not appealing. Overall, ask for Ryan and a booth and get most of what you expect from RC.
Ryan once again rocked the show. Our only disappointment was that we showed up early to have a drink and the bar was closed for renovations. We got a fantastic upper booth though! All our food was delish! Highly recommend the oysters Rockefeller!
Ryan was awesome! Food was fantastic.
Asked for window table in advance for our 40th wedding anniversary dinner and they had a great one with water and sunset view for us. Upon arrival they sprinkled flower pedals on table which my wife liked of course. Service and food was first class. Overall the experience lived up to the occasion.
Excellent service and the steaks were cooked perfect to order. There was a twilight combo dinner which was priced perfectly.
Absolutely love this Ruth’s Chris location! Celebrating our Anniversary this trip and they didn’t disappoint. This has been our second time to Maui and Ruth’s here. Our waiter was 100% on point and gave the best service. When we got back to the room we realized my hubby left his expensive and one of a kind sunglasses there. After figuring out he last wore them there I called. The young lady I spoke with was polite and willing to help. Surprisingly the sunglasses were there and they’re holding them for us. This restaurant is a must if visiting Maui, when making a reservation get a 6pm reservation so you can catch the amazing Sunset!
Ryan was efficient, if not a bit ... sterile.
The steak was SUPERB and well worth the price
Even tho Ryan knew it was our anniversary (our 28th), he made no special mention of it. I think he was a bit homophobic. The waiter at the next table was much more welcoming and friendly. That would’ve made our experience PERFECT.
Food was excellent and service great. We had a table by the window so we saw the sunset which was spectacular. The waiter was top notch and keep checking on us for water and drinks. It is a great place to eat on the quiet side of front street. Parking is free if you have it validated by waiter. Would return
Best filet mignon I've ever had! Service was fantastic.... We will be back!
Amazing cowboy ribeye and blueberry mojitos
the view was good and food is good except spinach.
Food came out late.
It was amazing birthday celebration with my husband!! Our server did a fantastic job very nice and sweet!! Our service was quick and elegant. We love the view from our table and the food especially ❤️!
Food was good: “standard” Ruth’s Chris fare. Service started out pretty good then fell to way side once restaurant got busier.
First time at this location was 18 years ago...whole place (including beat-up looking green restrooms) has clearly not been updated whatsoever since opening in 1998. No need to dress up, either—beach attire apparently is fine (not an issue for me). Kind of sad actually.
Service was sub-par. Was waiting for refills on drinks. The lobster-Mac and cheese was dry and came out semi-cold. The tomahawk steak was being cut up by the manager, using a knife that was outback quality and the tray table was unsteady as he cut rocking it back and forth. Took him a while to cut it up and by the time he finished the plates they were supposed to be 500+ degrees were already warm/cooled enough to touch. The steak was good but since the temperature in the restaurant is so cold our food got cold quickly. Nothing like the Ruth Chris in Kauai. Service was superior and they gave us real steak knives that cut, not the outback quality knives.
We had the rib eye and the lamb chops both were extraordinary the creme brulee is delicious
They treated us with amazing hospitality
The food is always amazing. This location faced the ocean so seeing the sunset provided an amazing view.
The service and food was great. Yana or waitress was the best. One can always count on Ruth’s Chris for wonderful food and the atmosphere.
My picky 9 year old ate the filet and loved it!
This location has just gone from private ownership to corporate management. Some of the extra niceties may be gone. This was a special dinner, celebrating 44 years of marriage. We chose to celebrate it at Ruth Chris and made that very clear with the staff at the restaurant. I thought a complementary desert or coffee would have been a nice touch but none was received. The “old” Ruth Chris would have handled that better.
The service was great but the steaks weren’t as good as we’ve had the past. Its always a place we visit time were in Maui so, I’m never that disappointed to stop coming back. The steaks here are still better tasting than any other place on Maui. The view from any table near the window is a great treat. The sunset views will leave you speachless. So, a great place to enjoy the sunset view in the later evening from a very comfortable seat.
I am visiting Maui with my family on 6. We truly enjoy everything from the appetizers to dessert. The stake was cooked perfect and the Shrimp dish was exquisite. We would highly recommend toanyone visiting Maui.
The food was superb! Everything was delicious! Our party had two ribeyes, a cowboy ribeye and a lobster tail. The lobster was over cooked but everything else was amazing!!! We also enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, lobster Mac & cheese and the mashed potatoes.
The service was less than stellar. Our server, Jesse, seemed nice enough & knowledgable. However, that ended quickly... the bottle of wine that he served us, he pulled from his apron. Very uncouth. He was a little condescending thru the remainder of the meal... maybe thinking we were not going to tip well. At the end, our table was discussing kamaina, not necessarily with him, but when he found out we were local, he made no attempt to adjust our check and said “...maybe we can do something for you next time.”
