Ruth's Chris Steak House - DC - Convention Center Ratings and Reviews
We had reservations, but called to state that we were running a few mins late. Got there w/in the time that we said that we would. However, there was still a wait. A table was not yet ready and we were tired of standing. So, we decided to sit in the bar area. We waited for at least another 15 mins and when no one came to get us, we checked again and was told that our names were called AND they came to look for us. NO WAY! If so, we woud have heard them. I recommended that if they want to be a Red Lobster, then give out buzzers. Else, if they want to remain high-end, they should go to each person in the bar area to find out if they are the ones waiting. They compensated for the misunderstanding. And it turned out to be a good dinner.
Ruth's Chris has always been able to provide a wonderful dining experience for my wife and I and my last visit here was no exception. Our waiter attentive, but non-obtrusive and the food was - as usual - delicious and hot. Even compared to other RC Steakhouses, this was one of the better experiences I've had.
The food, as expected was superb. The service, as expected was exemplary. I have nothing but good things to say - there was nothing I can say that didn't meet my expectations. The only possible negative was we ordered a bottle of wine and it was the last bottle - but the wine manager came over and made several recommendations. Our selection was excellent and we were pleased.
I went to Ruth's Chris Steak House for Thanksgiving Dinner and was very happy with the meal. However, I was disappointed that despite arriving first to the restaurant for lunch and having a reservation, my party was not seated first. Instead, we were left forgotten at the bar. Otherwise, service was impeccable and I was very happy that a to-go meal was provided in addition to our table leftovers. It was a wonderful meal.
We were looking for a fantastic dinner with fantastic service and ended up with average food and service. Started out ok and waiter was friendly and attentive but dwindled as we finished our meal, waited 15 min for plates to be cleared then another 15 minutes before our dessert to go and check was brought out...we ended up playing table football to pass the time...not exactly what one would expect at a Ruths Chris
Terrence&Latonya Triplett I really enjoyed myself as well as my wife. The food was to die for, it was profoundly acceptable. I have eatten here manyof times and each time was impecable. I would advise people to come out and enjoy a nice steak or either the delicious lamb chops and a nice glass of wine, any day at Ruth Chris. I loved the service we received as well. At the same time, I did not appreciate the waiter bringing me another mix drink to the table without asking me first if I wanted another. That was the only fault I had. Overall.......EXCELLENT and WONDERFUL place for good food and company.
Love their food, especially the steaks. Have a nice wine list with prices ranging from modest to expensive. Recommend choosing from the three course meal options. Good value, considering the relatively high prices. Generally love my experience there, but was disappointed this time when my favorite dish, the sweet potato casserole, was dry and seemed like it had been re-heated.
Service was a little slow. Not up to the Ruth's Chris standard of our Pittsburgh restaurant.
It took a long time to get our bottle of wine. The server was friendly enough but could have been a little more on the ball. We felt like he had too many tables to wait on at the time.
I had a business dinner here and could not have been happier. The service was wonderful, and the maitre d' made a point of coming to the table a couple of times, acting as if I regularly bring important people to this restaurant. And the food was delicious. My clients were very happy.
They let us share the dinner special (a starter, an entree, a side, and a dessert), which was very nice, because even with just one of each, we ended up taking food home. We always enjoy their bread, and the steak sizzling in butter is completely irresistible (excellent piece of meat, perfectly prepared). The caesar salad was very good (and quite sizeable). The creamed spinach actually tasted like spinach rather than just white sauce, which seems both rare and delightful with that dish (don't recall having it at Ruth's before, but they probably always get it perfect :-). The dessert that came with the special wasn't amazing (creme caramel with "tropical fruit") but it was fine. If we had it to do over, we'd probably ask for other options.
My wife and I both had the fillet mignon, mine was the 11 ounce and hers the 6 ounce, both cooked perfectly. We agreed it was the best steak either of us had ever eaten. My wife is from New Orleans and was familiar with the original Ruth's Chris Steak House located there. It was a favorite haunt of the city's businessmen and politicians. Our waiter in D.C. told us all of their steaks are USDA prime, which is the top 3% of beef in the country.
We went to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. The serving staff were attentive but not intrusive. The food was served in appropriate intervals (we had enough time to finish our appetizers before the entrees came) and the decor made all all feel as special as the occassion was.
Speaking of the food, their filet was divinely prepared. Serving them on the hot dishes in butter sauce is genius. Sometimes it's the little touches that matter. Lastly, the classics menu options were a great economic way to sample each course without breaking the bank.
I enjoyed this location better than the other location in WI I visited last month for sure.
