Our menu features 12 different burgers, all served on pretzel buns with your choice of fresh-cut fries, homemade chips, waffle fries, or sweet potato fries. Chicken sandwiches, mac and cheese, pulled pork, hot dogs, and familiar appetizers, such as onion rings, hummus, egg rolls and mini sliders, round out the menu. The bar features micro brews along with a lineup of our famous Milkshake Martinis. Rudy's food, service, and selection makes it a perfect place to escape the elements of a fast paced city.
Excellent food! Burgers are awesome. Manager is awesome, checked on us and was great to talk to. (Maybe owner?) Very nice place!
We had to wait 45 minutes for our food. The order was wrong. My husband ordered a burger medium and he received it well done. I asked for dressing on the side . It came with dressing on the salad. The manager was kind and took care of the matter.
We had a teen boys volleyball team and families and Rudy's did a great job accommodating and serving our group of 25.
We were looking for a place for a great burger and fries for lunch, near our hotel, and we found it. Very pleased.
Our family celebrated an early dinner on New Year's Eve. Good food and service.
The food was good, service was decent. It was pretty crowded so we expected the food to take some time but it took a very long time and was not as ordered when it finally came. It took awhile for them to correct it as well, while the rest of the food got cold. Overall, I would give it a second try.
Pleasant Surprise Next to Millennium Park.
Our family of five needed a place to eat after ice skating. We were looking for something in the $ price range, not a chain, full service bar and takes reservations on OpenTable. Rudy's reviews seemed positive so we tried it out and really liked it.
When you enter, there is a long, full service wooden bar ahead of you. Dining area is in the back. It is small, maybe a square of 3 tables by 3 tables with a lower ceiling than the bar area. There are televisions you can see no matter where you sit. The host and server did great.
We ordered burgers, a grilled cheese and a BLT. Everyone liked what they ordered. I really liked the fresh cut fries. They seem to have par baked large potatoes, cut them to steak-cut size, and fried them. Really good. The chocolate shake was above average. Forgot to mention the pickles that come as a garnish: deliciously fresh and crunchy - must be homemade. With two non-pickle eaters in our bunch I got to also enjoy theirs. :-)
We'll definitely be back.
Best Keep Secret in Chicago. you'll enjoy the great selection. reasonable prices and courteous service. Check out Tuesdays 7 martinis'
We had a group of 10 on a very busy Saturday. Seated promptly, with outstanding service!
It took forever to get our entrees. We got our appetizer quickly and then didn’t see our server again until he delivered our food 45 minutes later. A Manager did apologize for how long it was taking, but at that point it had been 30 minutes. And we were seated by the bathroom, even with a reservation. Once we got it, food was pretty good.
Enjoyable lunch of hamburgers and pulled pork sandwiches. Good selection of sides. Server was excellent - attentive, responsive, cheerful and friendly. Reasonably prized - portions plentiful. Close to theater district and millennium park. We'll return.
We came to Chicago for Thanksgiving with our family of six. We were sat quickly, had an amazing waitress and awesome food. We will definitely come back!
Great service and food!! Would definitely recommend!
Fun place. Definately need a reso for a weekend night. Small but the food was wonderful!
Fun, casual atmosphere. Great burgers and they have The best pickles - order extras!
The food was good. The pretzel bread grilled cheese was a pretzel bun turned inside out so it was a bit small. The fries were good. It is a noisy, busy place, but we didn't mind.
we had a party of 8, we were sat comfortable and quickly. food was very slow... but it was delicious when it finally came!
We found this by default while trying to avoid Steak house bankruptcy ! Turned out to be a great find. Casual, not too noisy even though the Cubs were playing. Good prices and so many options for everyone ! Lettuce wraps with Chicken better than others and plenty to share if appetizer. Firehouse Chili above others , great burger on buttered roll and a stacked Reuben. The only disappointment was they ran out of Bread Pudding my absolute reason to go here when I saw it on the Menu it was a no brainer! However Mike our Server came through with the Chocolate Chip deep dish ! Great service unique setting lots of old Chicago photos ! If we ever return to the city it will be a repeat! Thank you for a pleasant enjoyable meal for 2 Appetizer, Entree and a shared dessert for $70. The Best !
The service was bad, unfortunately. We had a 12 top and I just don’t think they were equipped to handle a big table. Four or five people got their food a half hour before the rest of the table! They were finished before the rest of us got ours! We were embarrassed a little that we brought people that we did business with there. They wanted casual and the food was good but the waitstaff was not.
Burgers and dessert were great, honemade chips and service were outstanding!
We were downtown for the day on a Saturday and ending at Millennium Park. Rudy's is a short walk and easy to find. From Maggie Daley park at 7pm I used Open Table and made a reservation for 5 @ 8pm. Our party consisted on 3 adults, one thirteen year old boy and one 11 year old boy. We left the park at 7:35pm and walking we arrived at 7:50pm. Our table was ready and waiting for us. The place is small and was full. At first I felt a little claustrophobic, but once seated I found that I had adequate room. Our server was attentive and quick. I didn't feel like we waited long for service, attention or for our food to arrive once ordered. Three of us had burgers and really enjoyed them, a lot, they were so good! I had the coleslaw for my side and it too was really good. My burger came with a homemade pickle that was pretty amazing in both size and taste (i'm not really a pickle fan, but I loved this one!). The other two in our party had the pastrami sandwiches and enjoyed those as well. The bill was around $112 for 5 meals, 3 sodas and two drinks from the bar. I would DEFINITELY go back and recommend to my friends and family.
Nice casual lunch spot with decent prices and good food. Service today was very attentive, as always, though the food took a bit long to come out of the kitchen.
Our waiter didn't know the menu and the food was just OK. Explains why it wasn't busy at all at 7:30 on a. Sunday night. But we truly enjoyed watching a guy fail the 5# burger challenge. It was embarrassing how poorly he did!
Can't go wrong with half off appetizers during Happy hour.
Food was good. Our reservation was at 6:30 pm so it was busy but not overly so. Yet it took about 45 min to get our food.
I took a native Chicagoan friend of mine who wasn't familiar with the bar/restaurant. We both ordered their Signature Burger; very "meh" this go-round. Love the sauteed green pepper, onion, and garlic formed into the meat. Buns were fresh and supported the main event. A couple of nits with Rudy's; first, consistency. I've ordered burgers Medium that show up Well, and Medium-Rare, that arrive Medium. No Rocket Science here folks; cook needs to stop texting and pay attention to their job. Second, I question the weight (pre-cooked) of their patties. They advertise 8 oz, more like 6 oz, truth be told.
There are better chains close by to try.
Good food however the menu was a bit confusing on what was included and what was extras. But waitress helped explain it to my satisfaction.
My wife and I had a few beers and shared a blue cheese burger. Food and service were good.
Open late which is great
Service was excellent
Go for the Burger and House Fries...they were both excellent
Guest has baked potato an grill cheese ...did not like either ...
Great last minute late night find while wandering around the city; wonderful service and good food! Will be back next time I visit!
These folks were amazing we got in and out in perfect time!!!
Rudy's is an unassuming little bar/restaurant with a solid neighborhood vibe and burgers are the main attraction. While their claims of "the best" are dubious, my choice, their Signature Burger, was very, very good. A classic since 1967, this is 1/2 lb of beef made with green peppers, diced onion, garlic and pepper mixed right into the patty. Add 2 bun, numerous potato, and cooking options, and you're in for a treat ;-) I won't comment on my companions order except to say DON'T order a patty melt, tell the waitperson to have the kitchen deconstruct it, and then complain about the taste. A patty with cheese, on rye without onions, IS NOT A PATTY MELT; it's a cheeseburger. Finally, NOTE TO SERVER: when your dining area is empty, don't seat two people at a "lamp table" with milking stools for chairs. There were several four tops available; common sense should have prevailed.
Great food ,Good service Fun place to dine. Easy to get to location in the heart of the loop. Full menu with many choices for everyone to enjoy. Seating areas tastefully decorated with pictures and memorabilia of Chicagos past . We celebrated Mothers there with the family. Can't wait to go back.
My 11 year old son recommended this place based on the nummy-looking ads and we weren't in the least disappointed. Great burgers, friendly accommodating staff.
Once before Broadway in Chicago play
On Thursday evening.
Bottle wine for one half price which was a bonus!
Food was very reasonable and well prepared.
Service very very good prayed
Great can't miss placed in downtown Chicago
It's always great here!
Relaxing and reasonable. Good food and good value.
This was our first time at Rudy's. The food was delicious and had a good variety to choose from. Our server had a great sense of humor and the atmosphere was fun.
Rudy's has the best burgers I have ever tasted; hands down.
Great burgers! Root beer in a bottle! Fast meal before a show.
