                                        Was looking so forward to having dinner here and tasting the sauce after I’ve heard rave reviews. The appetizers were good. The calamari was OK. The meatballs were excellent, and the artichokes were amazing. But the pasta with short rib Bolognese sauce tasted very dry and like it a been sitting there for a day. So we were a little bit disappointed about that. The service was absolutely excellent though.

                                        Managers walked passed without asking us if we were ok or anything about the food. They sat us by the kitchen way in the back. Waitress Madeleine was good. Food was good. Portions could have been more. Didn't feel welcomed at all. I won't be back. Probably best for both parties involved. Called in to make sure they brought out cake for my wife but the waitress had no clue.

                                        Our server was amazing - so friendly and knowledgeable. She also talked to the chef about making a special pasta for our son whose grad we were celebrating. It made his night - and ours! Food spectacular too!

                                        This was my 3 or 4th visit and it gets better every time! This restaurant is a must visit every time I’m in Chicago. The food is stellar and the service is amazing!

                                        Chaotic. Vestibule full of people. Finally seated half hour after reservation time. If I’m only given 15 minutes grace or will be charged and reservation cancelled, I shouldn’t have to wait half hour if I’m on time. Seated at makeshift table between bar and dining room. Poor servers skirting by me all night. Nice wine list but purely gouging at prices. I understand margins are tight, but at that price point, an Italian restaurant is supposed to offer bread and salad. Branzino wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t fresh. The broccolini were too hard, not sautéed enough, and spicy doesn’t mean just loaded with garlic. Wife’s lobster ravioli tasted like imitation crab in an island of butter. Bomboloni were phenomenal for dessert. Disappointed. Was really looking forward to a 5star evening.

                                        Delicious, well prepared food, and attentive, professional service in a lovely restaurant: However, the music-noise level could have been turned down a notch to allow for easier conversation. The only other criticism I have is the wait time with a reservation was quite long (20-25 minutes at 6:15 pm on a Saturday). Perhaps the restaurant needs to put in a two- hour limit on dining as other places have done.

                                        A reservation means very little here. Arrived 20 minutes before our 8:00 reservation and weren’t seated until an hour later at 8:40, which was 40 minutes after our reservation. The interim updates were not accurate — “we will have your table momentarily” — if were just told it was going to be a long delay we could have gone somewhere for a drink beforehand. When we finally got to our table we found a fully shattered glass under our table.
