I have dined at multiple Roy’s restaurants. The food is consistently outstanding, especially the fish and associated sauces. On this visit, the food did not disappoint, but the restaurant did. The noise level in the dining room made it virtually impossible to have a conversation. There seems to be no sound absorbing material, and we decided we would not return because of the noise. We might possibly try the bar as it seemed a little better. The restaurant was filled with “ normal” diners so hard to attribute the noise to a single group. Too bad to give up on a favorite. Glad we don’t have any hearing issues. If you have a hearing problem, you would need sign language to communicate.
Food was oustsnding
This visit was not as good as our usual experience at Roy's. It was so noisy we couldn't have a conversation.
Food was just OK. We were very disappointed in the sushi roll we ordered as it was really tiny with barely enough for each of us to try a little. Tuna entree arrived well done instead of seared rare, but still tasted ok.
Honestly Roy's is usually first rate, so I'm hoping this was just an off night.
Ok. Have been there before. Server was very good but had too many tables. Not as good as Roy’s in Hawaii.
They were very nice but failed to recognize we were celebrating..... still very good food and service!!!!!
All good - loved our server.
All four of us enjoyed our meals even though they were all totally different. Well prepared, delicious, and beautiful to look at. Our guests with birthdays were treated royally with delicious desserts. Roy’s is one of our favorite go to restaurants.
Great food again!!!! Great service! Really liked this Roys. Bring a Roys back to Chicago. We miss it
Husbands Birthday - great service and the food was outstanding! Best meal we’ve had in the Desert in awhile! Highly recommend a dinner at Roy’s!
The food and service were excellent, however, it was a bit noisy for a business dinner.
Not a “typical” Roy’s experience. Fish was over cooked and didn’t appear to be fresh. Also not sure that it was the type of fish that I ordered. Always have enjoyed Roy’s in the past but this location was not what we were accustomed to. We will not dine here again .
We've been to Roy's in Rancho Mirage a number of times. Food is always consistent and delicious. What stood out on this visit was our server, David. He went out of his way to give us exceptional service and if we could add an extra star or two for his attention to detail, we would. He did not miss a beat, made suggestions for what to order (some off menu) and did it all with humor and professionalism.
We will be back again!
Lovely food as always.
Fantastic service by Amy. She made the night truly special. Everything from the cocktails, starters, desert and or entrees were absolutely fantastic. The short rib and butter fish combo plate was the best dish I've had in a long time. Thanks Roys!
Always visit Roy's when there's a restaurant in the area.
Food was slopped together on the plate
Calamari was over fried
Great service without being overbearing. The food as always was incredible. I went to my all time favorite the short ribs and they still amaze me. Although we were there late on a week night we never felt rushed. Go to Roys.
Wonderful service, excellent food: a terrific dining experience!
Great food and service.
We were placed at a table surrounded by a company dinner or outing and resulted in a poor dining experience.
The chefs creation, Hawaiian opah, lacked flavor and it was very average.
My experince at Roys in Rancho MIrage has always been excellent. The food is outstanding, taste and presentation. Service is good. An all over enjoyable evening,
Good dinner and waiter was very nice. We would return has a nice meal.
As tradition, my wife and I try to have dinner at Roy’s every year for our wedding anniversary. We want to keep the tradition.
The four of us enjoyed a wonderful evening at Roy’s. Roy’s is always a favourite as it reminds us of many evenings at a Roy’s in Hawaii. The quality of service, the food, and the friendly atmosphere are always consistent. It is worth just going for the chocolate lava soufflé .
Service was worst we’ve ever had but food was good. Took over 25 minutes to get my drink we had already been served appetizer and entree and it was not done right so I decided to just drink water let down
We had a group of 13 for a business dinner so I thought I’d pick Roy’s because we had been there before and it went well with everyone having a good time. This time around, I was pretty disappointed overall. We had to wait 15 minutes for the table (we booked on Open Table a month ahead so that shouldn’t happen in my view), we didn’t have anyone come to the table to give us menus or take drink orders for another 10 to 15 minutes once we sat down, and we were basically shoved the bill with no offer of after dinner drinks or desert menus. The food was very good but that doesn’t make up for how poor everything else was. Was pretty disappointed overall with this experience. I’ve been to this location at least 6 times and this certainly was the worst experience. Unfortunately, there are so many good choices of places to eat in the Palm Springs area, we will probably not be back, which is too bad. We’ve enjoyed going to Roys when we are at our place in Maui.
Great food with good friends. Always enjoy Roy’s
Great food. The Monday night special was great.
Our food was very average and not as good as previous dining at this same restaurant.
Late celebration of Christmas with family.
I’ve been to just about every Roy’s and the experience and food are always awesome.
Made a reservation through Open Table. Arrived on time but no table availability because clearly this restaurant overlooks. No apology, long wait for a table.
Food good when it came but portions tiny. You leave this restaurant either hungry or broke.
Would not recommend the place to anyone. Big disappointment
The food, especially the Butter fish, was outstanding but the noise level in the side dining area was very loud. I will request the main dining room next time and there certainly will be a "next time" Staff was wonderful.
The questionnaire says it all. Service person very nice but too many tables for him, for anyone. Food quite mediocre. Our stuffed chicken good taste but dry. The Chilean sea bass not to taste and different/sent back but credited. The large prawns in its place. Not good. No coffee refills. But the service person personable. Understaffed.
Eaten In Arizona and? Chicago ROYS. food much better as best as I recall
We attended to celebrate a birthday and were given a lovely booth with flowers and birthday card on arrival. Our waiter explained all of the options on the menu and was very helpful. We ordered the scallop appetizer to start out with and a bottle of wine. Our wine was delivered and we met Tracy, the manager, who welcomed us making the rounds of the room. We proceeded to wait for at least 20-25 minutes with no communication from anyone. We asked to see Tracy and she came right over. We explained our long wait and she was very accommodating and said she would look into it. We then received our appetizer about 10 minutes later and subsequent courses in a timely manner. Our food was delicious. The birthday girl got a key lime tart for dessert on a decorated plate. We were comp'd for the appetizer and the dessert which we were not expecting. In all fairness it was a very busy night. We had a wonderful meal and birthday celebration and would certainly return for future dinners.
