Food was very slow. And one dish was delivered 10 mins after the first two. Another dish was incomplete!

My swordfish came out cold, took forever, waitress never asked if we wanted coffee or to see a desert menu before giving us the bill and never asked if we wanted another cocktail. I was super disappointed as we were celebrating a birthday and that was her first time to Roy’s. Overall it was terrible. :(

We love Roys restaurants but this one has very little ambiance. The food was good and the server was very attentive. The Lobster potstickers were great. The Ahi Tuna should have come with more sauce. The short ribs were good. The Chocolate soufflé cake is not to be missed. We will most likely not return to this Roy’s as there are so many great restaurants in Newport Beach with better pricing.

We had really looked forward to our dinner at Roys. We had reservation through Open Table, but when we arrived 7 minutes early, we were told no tables were ready since we arrived SO EARLY. We were told to "take a load off" in the bar.

The appetizer: chicken spring rolls: good but a little greasy. And not enough dipping sauce, just one smear on the plate. Portion was modest.
The entree was listed on the menu as Short RIBS. As in plural. It was one portion of meat, and not a generous portion at that. We were surprised by how modest the size of the portions were, considering the cost. ($35)
The dessert, which we were told had to be ordered in advance because it takes 20 minutes, was called Pineapple Upside Down cake. It's TINY, it is not pineapple upside down cake. It's a tiny butter cake with a very very tiny amount of diced pineapple.
We thought the server was great, very friendly. We thought the food tasted good. But with the tiny portions and the high cost ($99 for one appetizer, two entrees, one dessert), it was very poor value for the money spent.
We probably will not go there again.

Haven’t been to Roy’s in awhile food is always tasty but it seems they have cut the meal size in half and kept the same price . Food is always excellent Service was awesome.

Although they were busy cause it’s Valentine’s Day. Service was great, we got seated on time, food like always was excellent. We had a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner here 😊

Roys is great because of the food and deals they send, but they are in need of a make-over! the decor is so dated :/ we also waited a long time for our food but it was also valentines day, busy..

Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. It was Valentine's Day and the food took an extremely long time to arrive. She did comp us a cocktail for our inconvenience.

Where to start... the atmosphere was very disappointing. We’ve been to Roys on the big island I. Hawaii about 10 years ago. There is literally no comparison between Hawaii and Newport. Great interior design in Hawaii from what I recall - lots of Koa wood and lush cozy setting. Newport location interior is completely dated and resembles a coffee shop diner more so than what one would expect to find in Newport Beach. I recommend hiring a top notch interior designer and giving the place a complete make over to try and compete with
Fleming’s which is only a few stops away. Sorry, I really wish I had something better to write and I truly hope Roy’s changes their image as it has so much potential

It was my friends birthday and they really made her feel special with the card and dessert with Happy Birthday on it. And our food was just marvelous. Our service was attentive but not over bearing.

The price for the portion of the food was very pricey.. fish was okay, not great.. we spent $265 for4 people. No alcohol nor dessert.. I could have gone next door to Fleming’s and had a better meal for about the same amount of money.. I won’t be eating dinner here unless there is a special.
