I wish that I could dine at Roy’s weekly. The food is that good and unique. Try the appetizer trio, and the entre trio with the butter fish. The butter fish and the tuna are terrific.
Good meal and service - not great but good. Server was friendly service was fast but slightly more laid back then expected.
Excellent experience, great mahi-mahi and sword fish. Great service too
We were forgotten at our table. It took 20 min to get the bread and butter and almost 1 hour to get our entrées.
Food and drinks were good. Service, especially bar service, was very slow. Overall a nice chain restaurant experience but not worth the premium price.
The food was okay. However, the quantity was amazingly small for the nearly $80 lunch price for two. Instead of providing the primary meal with substance, the kitchen added greens and two cookies on the plate, perhaps to visually embellish an unsubstantial meal.
This is the third Roy's that I have dined at and had high expectations for the Baltimore branch as well, raving about the Roy's chain to my dining companion. While the food lived up to the expectation, the service due to the waiter was severely lacking. It took over 10 minutes after arrival for him to acknowledge us and the service continued to go downhill from there. It was evident that this was not across the board as I saw other diners receiving great service.
I also overhead the manager greet returning customers and told them to save room for desert which would be on Roy's. While I understand the practice of taking care of loyal customers, as we were seated at the next table over on both occasions it would have been nice if he came over to inquire about our dining experience. While I may return to the Roy's in other locales, Baltimore has many options that have providing great experiences that I would recommend above Roy's.
Service was very good. Food was good however not the really good food we had experienced at Roy's in Hawaii.
Air conditioning was not working on one of the hitter days of the year. That took away from what should have been a great night
The air conditioner was not working in the section of the restaurant where we were seated. The temperature outside was approximately 96 degrees, and inside it was about 90 degrees! It would have been nice to receive some notification about the air, via text or email. The food was pretty good, but overall the experience was fair.
Loved the sushi! Food was amazing!
Monique was our waitress/server, very nice, super friendly, gave good/kind advice to our daughter who ‘s starting college next fall.
Food was amazing!!! Everything was so good!
We had a great experience and definitely will return... the only downside was that it was too warm, seemed a/c was not working.
Our food and drinks were very good at Roy's. We celebrated my husband's birthday and they made it special by writing happy birthday on his dessert plate.
Seated in a booth as requested, very comfortable to have a conversation. Great food served at a good pace.
2 hour meal. Kitchen service was terrible. Long wait for food and was just OK. Not interested in going back.
Ate at bar. Good value on beverages and small plates at Happy Hour ... oh here I mean ALOHA Hour.
The staff made me and my wife feel special on her birthday. Our first time dinning here but definitely not our last.
Roy’s was fabulous. The food and service was impeccable. Will definitely go to Roy’s again.
As always a great dining experience in Harbor East Style
It was my wife's birthday and Roy's is one of her favorites. We were not disappointed. Roy's has expanded its menu selections to what is calls the "Chef's Creations." The down side of that is being able to make a choice. We both chose the seared Rockfish and loved it. My two adult children chose the Dynamite Crab Swordfish and declared it excellent. The side vegetables were fresh and nicely sautéed. Our waitress was wonderful - knowledgeable and personable. My wife received a complementary dessert being her birthday -the Kaffir Lime Tart. Overall, we had an excellent dining experience.
The cost for valet, dinner and drinks for 4 ppl was well below what we anticipated spending. The only reason I didn’t give a perfect rating was because our plates were hot to touch but our food was warm, heading toward cold. We will be returning however because we believe we can have a 5-stars experience at Roy’s. See you soon!
This was the perfect place to celebrate my husband on Father’s Day. Inventive drinks and delicious foods; a kid friendly experience in a beautiful setting along Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Roy’s was great place to develop new memories for our family.
Food took too long....
Had a nice time!
We’ve eaten here before and appreciated the responsiveness of the staff when I was served a dish I was unable to tolerate. We decided to return for our anniversary since we also had tickets to a concert in the city that evening. The staff was appropriately thoughtful of our special occasion and mentioned it several times during the meal. My husband had the soft shell crab appetizer and enjoyed it very much. He ordered scallops and I had the filet mignon. My steak was cook more medium than the medium rare I ordered but had a good flavor. We ordered chocolate soufflé for dessert but also let our server know that we had concert tickets and needed to be mindful of the time. The manager checked on us and mentioned he was aware of our time concerns. The dessert arrived on a special plate with Happy Anniversary written on it in chocolate and a candle. It was beautiful and tasted fantastic. We were surprised to note our dessert was comped by the restaurant. A very nice surprise. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Hawaiian fusion dishes and we’ve enjoyed dining here when we’ve traveled into Baltimore City.
All the food was delicious: braised short ribs, saint georges bank sea scallops and mixed shellfish plate. So pleased that the restaurant permitted customized options.
We met friends who were in DC for a meeting for lunch on a Monday . We arrived fairly early for lunch and were seated in a great place for conversation; there were 5 of us. We had attentive but respectful service; we were not rushed. The menu choices were quite varied and all delicious! We continued to converse and enjoy our time together, spending about 2 1/2 hours together. We truly appreciated the relaxed atmosphere, and service and thus the entire experience. A great place for lunch!
Great food for our first anniversary
Great food and attentive service. Always a great dining experience.
The food is good to very good. The drinks are pretty good as well. The service is average to poor. Although there's as many as 5 people at the host stand, the wait staff gets delayed. Also our waitress could not explain what the special of the day was, although it was simply grilled fish with a sort of crab imperial on top. For the price, I don't know if we'll go back.
Ryan the manager makes this restaurant excellent, greeting you after the hostess, always out on the floor making sure everyone feels welcome and each moving part in the restaurant is on point. I eat all over the country for business and it is rare to see a well run restaurant. Food, service and hospitality was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Well, I would actually love to give this place a fair rating, but we showed up for our reservation and waited 20 minutes at our table without service. The server, who was clearly stressed was the only one there. We left. On our way out the manager was talking and joking with the kitchen. I do not believe he even knew we were there.
Great service food can’t be beat at Roy’s - Fresh and light! Always a great choice.
Roys used to be one of our favorite restuarant. The recent visit was disappointing. The quality of products they are using as dropped significantly. The rack of lamb lacked flavor and was very fatty. There beef sushi roll (lakanilau roll) used higher quality beef which would be topped rare. This time the sushi had a greasey overdone taste. The ahi tuna and duck buns were the only ones that were good. Even the signature souffle was off, it was more chocolate liquid than souffle. Prices have gone up, quality of products used gone down!
I've been dining at Roy's since it opened in the Harbor East community. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, it did. It continues to be a gem for Baltimore and mainstay for fine dining. I took my 19 year old daughter. She's a budding fooding at this was a perfect place for her to enjoy a wonderful fine dining experience.
Food and service were very good. Price reflects the upscale nature of the experience. Worth it for young professionals on special occasions or as a treat.
