The food was excellent as always. It was a table of 6. We ordered the salmon, butterfish, taste of Philippians, and scallops. Everything was cooked and seasoned wonderfully. For desert we had the chocolate cake and upside down pineapple cake. (Have order chocolate cake when putting main course orders). The chocolate cake good and the upside cake was delicious.
The only negative of our experience was the service when it came to drinks. After placing the order there was very long waits for drinks to arrive. The waiter never said you main course will be up shortly would like a drink, hence 2 people ordered drinks when the meals were brought to the table. They were 2/3 done by the time the drinks arrived. Same thing happened with dessert, the waiter never asked if we wanted after dinner drinks or coffee. When dessert arrived I asked for an expresso. It arrived about 4-5 minutes after dessert was already finished. Expresso was really good though. Two guys wanted ports with their dessert but chose not to order them because it dessert was at the table already.
Please put alcohol in your cocktails. For such a high end restaurant the cocktails were watered down both at the bar and when seated at our table.
When my wife and I arrived early for our dinner with our adult children we waited in the bar area and had cocktails, There were about 5 people total sitting at the bar and the restaurant was not crowded. However, it took almost 20 minutes to get drinks despite three bartenders. Weird or usual bar service? We wondered how long it would take to get served if Roy's was busy?
Appetizers for four was one of the best I had
Herb encrusted mahi mahi was moist & rich surf & turf was excellent
Crab fried rice & tuna was outstanding
All four of us really enjoyed our meal
Kudos to the staff
My wife and I's favorite restaurant. Tremendous flavor, great service.
Food was tasty but very rich. No simpler choices. Good quality of ingredients
After eating there I became very violently ill. I will not be dining there ever again
I hadn't been to Roy's in years, but decided to try it again on Thanksgiving Day. They had a prix fixe menu with ample choices which included a traditional Turkey Day special, along with four other delicious choices. I got the Salmon dish, which was outstanding. The dinner also included appetizers and dessert. Everything was scrumptious. The service was excellent as was the chef who paid a personal visit to each table. Something you rarely encounter in restaurants anymore. A great dining experience.
The lobster potstickers are a must-have! We visited for Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey dinner was a giant portion of food. The sausage dressing was a bit greasy and the carrots were undercooked. But the turkey was moist and the potatoes and green beans were excellent. We'll have to go back sometime for a non-holiday meal.
We were disappointed this Thanksgiving visit having previously great traditional Thanksgiving dinners at Roy’s Two of us ordered the turkey, three of us ordered the salmon, and one was a vegan. The staff was accommodating in allowing appetizer substitutes. However, we received one turkey dinner that was premature to the rest of our orders showing up. There was little taste, but it turned out belonging to another table. We sent it back and requested salmon in its place. All of the salmon dishes were perfectly cooked with the exception of the dish substituted for the unfortunate turkey dinner. That salmon dish was undercooked and sending it back caused another 20 minute wait for the party that initially ordered the turkey. Meanwhile, the one turkey dinner was eaten but not enjoyed. “I’ve had better” was the response The staff was apologetic and they sent the chef to our table. We appreciated that.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day dinner and we're grateful for the great experience. Not the usual kind of big family gathering but a nice time with the oldest grandson. Thanks to all the wonderful folks at Roys.
Service was excellent as always. Food was very good. The table in the corner had a big dog which I didn't love having in the restaurant... not a certified service animal.
My son just came home for Thanksgiving from college and when we asked where he wanted to go the first place he named was Roys. It is his favorite restaurant and one of ours as well. The food is always delicious and creative and we love the atmosphere and service.
Danny was great!
Alfred was a great server! Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the concept and the food! And his back server was lovely as well-great teamwork and service focused but genuine.
Amazing for special occasions. My wife's birthday dinner was the best.
Celebrated a milestone birthday at Roy's. Staff was attentive and food was delicious.
I had a giftcard and my friend and I went for a Saturday lunch. We were the only ones there so the server was very attentive!!! And the setting was wonderful. Even if it had been full it wouldn't have felt cramped.
The food was the best meal I have had in sometime!!! The ebi sushi roll was especially good!! Different than any sushi roll I had before. And the mahi mahi lunch plate was beyond delicious as well!!!
Definitely will be a go to for a super special occasion!!!
While the food was quite good and very tasty I was extremely disappointed that there were only two entrees listed. I was expecting a much widerchoice
Our appetizer took about 30 minutes, and we were getting upset. The waiter brought us some complimentary edamame because he knew that it was too long a wait. The food was delicious and the food came timely after that.
Thank you for helping to make a very happy anniversary!
We felt our server was rushing us a bit. We've been numerous times and very felt that way before. Although it was an early reservation and the restaurant wasn't busy so maybe he was just being super attentive. The food is always amazing!!
I do not intend to ever go back to the restaurant. The service was mediocre at best. At the conclusion of the meal, I ordered a cup of decaf coffee. After 15 minutes, my wife went to look for the waiter and told him that we were unwilling to wait any more and provide the bill. When the bill came, I was charged full price for the wine which was supposed to be I/2 off on Wednesday. This promotion is prominently noted in the menu. This all took another fifteen minutes. Thanks.
In one word “FANTASTIC”. Appetizers were wonderful, dinner was seasoned wonderfully and cooked perfectly. Sides came with the meal so there is great value in your meal. Desert was a homemade pineapple upside down cake. I am not a desert person and told my wife i would try a bite but ended up eating more but then her. This was a date night for me and my wife and we invited her best friend along and all three of us were just so impressed with the restaurant and the food. I have been in the area for about eight years and had not known about Roy’s but I sure wish I had. We will make up for lost time and be back at Roy’s soon.
The manager came over and checked on us. My wife is a chef and she asked to meet the head chef. Chef Buschman came out and spoke to us for awhile. and asked how our meal was. Our waiter Dave was fantastic, he knew the menu well and made fantastic recommendations. The lady filling our water glasses (I’m sorry I don’t know your name) was fantastic. The valet was great, super easy to use.
I can not wait to head back to Roy’s for another dinner. Great food, great service, awesome staff fantastic value and awesome atmosphere. Do yourselves a favor and go to Roy’s, you will not be disappointed.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Made for a wonderful anniversary dinner celebration.
I tried the Filipino menu and everything was great.
Food was excellent! Service was really good. Good vibes. Would recommend.
All around good meal.
We've eaten at Roy's in other cities, but this was our first visit to Roy's Baltimore. It was okay. The food was good, but the other Roy's we've been to I would have rated as excellent. The service was fine, but I was disappointed that the Wednesday 1/2 off wine bottle was not reflected on the bill and we had to ask for it to be adjusted, even though we had confirmed the discount with our waiter prior to ordering the wine.
A bit rushed due to a slow start with service. Fine later. Rockfish was excellent as was the pork shoulder.
The food was not bad, but I ordered the black cod which is always a mild tasting fish and it had a very fishy taste. I was not able to eat it afraid that I would get sick. I told the waitress and she brushed me off completely. I thought that it was very poor customer service.
We frequent Roy's in Bonita Springs when we are in Florida during our winters. This was a nice treat as we were in town for a running event. Misoyaki Butterfish is my go-to and did not disappoint. The pineapple upside-down cake was also consistent with our Florida restaurant. Need to have one of these restaurants closer to the Canadian border!
We were celebrating our anniversary and everyone was welcoming and made it a special meal, especially our waiter, Tucker. We each had the Roy's Trio and some side dishes and the fantastic chocolate souffle. It was a great evening. One thing I appreciate about Roy's is that they read my requests and honor them as best they can. We always ask for a quiet booth and that's what we get.
We celebrate our son s birthday and we had a good time. Waiters were all very friendly. Definitely recommend for date night.
Food was great! Service was great as usual. Our server Elizabeth always does her part to make it a great experience. We are regulars and will continue to be.
food was horrible. service was horrible. Mahi Mahi was bad and they still served it! Two of my colleagues were sick.
Excellent food excellent service
Wish there was a Roy's in Boston
Yummy!!!! They made our anniversary dinner extra special....loved how they went above and beyond for us!!
Only one thing...the Valet Parking was not up to par...from pulling up to restaurant to getting car at the end of the evening...
Nice evening and the food was good. Wanted to redeem my Open Table reward but it was a first time for me and the restaurant did not know how to apply. Bye bye $60
Mediocre service when compared to others in the area. Food was good but not excellent.
