I know there have been some less than stellar reviews of Rose and Vine. Don't let them disuade you from giving it a try. This is my second time having dinner there in past several months and both time, very impressed with the creative main courses. The baked pasta is a curious and delightful combo of flavors. Gnocchi with short ribs - flavor explosion. I'd love to see more people give this place a try - it's gem. Cool mid-century decor and they will even change up the music if you're in the mood for something. Cheers.
this is a great intimate BYO place. there is really only one chef and one assistant for the entire restuarant so it takes forever to get your food.
the food is great but not sure it's worth the wait. just be prepared to wait and definitely take advantage of the no corkage!
Rose & Vine is a very charming space tucked into the back of a nondescript mini mall in Hollywood. Once inside, you feel miles away, in a quiet and comfortable ambiance. They offer an intriguing array of small and large plates, all sharable, and all of the dishes we ordered were spectacularly delicious and well-prepared. The service was great; our server, Gary, was a delight. They don't have a liquor license right now, but there is an adjacent liquor store and there's no corkage fee. A truly special place.
I am a fan of the new chef Jeremy! I a simple cheeseburger and fries is a gourmet delight at Rose & Vine. The fries with a hint of Parmesan and truffle oil are the BEST in town The owner Monica was my server and was friendly and efficient. The prices are this place are quite reasonable. I regularly host large groups here for Saturday brunches. I am a fan. Will be back soon!
We went there with great expectations the other night. It wasn't very crowded but after waiting almost an hour just for our appetizer we asked how much longer and they said it would be awhile. We were starving and left. If they plan on staying in business (especially in LA) - they need much better service. It's a shame and I hate to write a bad review but I need others to be warned. The manager? offered to comp us next time but there won't be a next time. They also don't have a liquor license which is a drag. You can byob but not too helpful if you don't know this in advance.
Small restaurant with funky budget decor (3 month old newbie) ... restaurant is tucked away in the corner of a small strip mall ... waiter still needs to find his footing (nice but not too attentive) ... menu is limited BUT the food is simply AMAZING!! No alcohol, beer or wine (yet), although they do not object to BYOB with no corkage fee ... $$ is VERY reasonable!
In a nondescript (somewhat rundown) strip mall. Wife said "We have reservations HERE?" But inside was a cool mid-century vibe. There for lunch, the place was empty except for us and I think we were the first customers of the day. We loved our food and thought is was a nice time. We would love to try dinner sometime.
