The service was great, the food was great (though a little pricey), the setting in the dining area was pleasant and comfortable. There was the occasional burst of noise from patrons in the bar area, but not to the point of disturbing. The only thing that bothered me was the dust hanging from the wires and ducts visible in the ceiling. Overall a great experience.
Slow on Sunday evening which helped keep noise level low. Had a great time and great experience.
The food was very good, but nothing out of the ordinary. My pork chops were cooked a little more than I would have done, but still very good. Reservations were a must on a Saturday night. It is a desirerable spot and they turned away several customers. There were lots of sports on tv, but it was too busy to follow a game. We were on a tight time schedule and they were able to get our meal in a timely manner.
When I arrived right on time for my reservation, my table was occupied by someone else. We had to wait at least 10 minutes until seated. Also, my 2 friends eating with me got their food first. I expected mine to follow shortly. However, after 10 minutes had passed, I still did not have my food. Finally, I asked a worker to check on my food. Apparently it was not cooked well and then they decided to remake it. I was very appreciate of this, but wish it had be caught and communicated it to me sooner, as my friends waited on me to eat and their food has become cold.
Besides those two hiccups, the atmosphere and food were great. The service was kind about their mistakes and even paid for part of my meal.
Delicious meals all around! Very fresh and seasoned just right for each person. First time there and now we see why reservations are a must. Servers were pleasant and we didn't have to wait long for our meals. We will be back.
Great meal experience! Drink specials were awesome and tasty. Food tasted great with appealing presentation. Overall great experience.
Service was great - it was loud, but we are old (Lol) and prefer a quieter atmosphere. It’s a lovely setting and seemed very popular.
The food was amazing and the service was great. The waitress was very nice and attentive to whatever we needed. The restaurant itself was a great place to enjoy a meal.
We had a great time the food and service was fantastic. Highly recommend the Pimento Cheese Appetizer!
Had a reservation at a high top table because we prefer those when we don’t plan to sit at the bar. The tables were too close together and I couldn’t even get into my seat without asking the person behind me to move.
I asked to move to a new table and we were promptly moved to a booth right next to the bar. The noise level and ambiance in the middle of traffic was terrible. Also the servers station was right behind where I was sitting and all the two guys did was complain the whole time and seemed to be making fun of one of the tables.
Our server was great (young lady) and was very friendly. She came by just the right number of times to check on us and made sure we had everything we needed. She gave very good recommendations and drink suggestions.
We dine downtown at least a couple times a week and wanted to try Roost for dinner since we had only been there for lunch on the patio and drinks before. I’m not sure we will be back. There are more economical restaurants within a block or two with much better food and ambiance. This place just seemed like a wreck.
The food was average to good and our server was excellent. If the service had been bad would would have not stayed for dinner.
The ceiling in the bathroom was also leaking water into the bathroom floor and it was puddled up. I mentioned it to someone on my way back to my table and they just shook it off as nothing.
Loved the atmosphere and service at this downtown restaurant where the prices are not exorbitant. We had the breakfast buffet where omelets are cooked to order ( and delivered to your table). The omelet was delicious and the bacon was cooked perfectly. The breads/pastries were typical of a buffet and could have been better.
My dining experience here was excellent. Our server was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious. I expected this to be more of generic hotel restaurant, but the dishes were quite sophisticated and well thought out.
I was very pleased with the attention to detail from the preparation of the meat to the perfect amount of seasoning and topped
I waited was amazing...Just can't remember his name.
Really enjoyed our dinner. We enjoy Restaurant Week because it allows us to enjoy various restaurants in the Greenville area. We will definitely be back.
Best brunch in Greenville. Always fresh, always consistent.
Went for Sunday Brunch. Outstanding value for the price and the food was excellent.
Absolutely fantastic food. Huge portions. I would definitely eat here again.
Highly recommend Sunday Brunch at Roost. Incredible selection of foods for a very reasonable price. A number guests at our table ordered made-to-order omelettes and loved them. The made-to-order waffles are beyond good - light fluffy and crispy on the outside. Will definitely go back.
Headed to Roost with another couple and we were seated in a booth which made it very inconvenient with the buffer being offered at the time of our arrival. We should have asked to be moved to a table. The buffet was limited and unkept. The waffle was good and the omelet average. I would not go back for brunch with so many other options.
The food was excellent and the service (Thomas and Melanie) was outstanding! They made our night!
New Years Eve
Thanks for having multiple vegan menu entrees. Thanks for them not being pasta. We are pleased our server understood vegan.
Underwhelmed. Dined at Roost once before and never returned. But based on Open Table raves and the passage of time, tried again for lunch. No improvement. No idea why OT claims this is one of Greenville's best -- leads us to wonder if those reviews are biased. Meal just OK, service adequate but brought out wrong order, seats shredded and torn. In dire need of refurbishing.
Just another tired hotel restaurant. What's the point, when there are so many wonderful lunch and dinner options in Greenvillle?
Very bad bar food. It’s part of the hotel and unfortunately on Main St. any other place is a better option
Bison Ribs is the start of the Menu!!! Great Job!!!
Bryant H. Was wonderful and we loved the food.
Not on a holiday. Sorry, regardless of how hard the staff and servers worked it was a little too zooey. I will and would go during a "normal" day but I'm afraid that holidays are just not the way to go and the $40 per person (+ tip, of course) was stretching the value$$$$.
This was my husband's second outing using a scooter. Staff was very helpful in getting us seated in a comfortable area. It was a busy time yet the nice employee spent time seeing that we were well treated. Thank you. The buffet was good
Christmas Day buffet. The food offered was excellent! I especially like the collards. Prime Rib was tasty. Great Variety!
Overall it was good, but the prime rib was tough and they didn't offer turkey. I would have liked ham carved from a whole ham rather than what was served. The potatoes and vegetables were delicious and so were the breakfast items with the exception of a very dry spinach and cheese omelet that had been sitting for a while. Seafood table was great, too.
Christmas Day lunch! Thank you for the amazing buffet. I ate until I couldn’t breathe. Cannot wait until next year.
Went for Christmas Brunch. The presentation was nice and price reasonable for a holiday, but not for any other time. Plenty of food to chose from with lots of variety. Food was good, but just not great. If one word described the food it would be typical. Flavors weren't bad, just nothing special or different from any other place where one might find the same things. Totally adequate, just expected something a little more from an upscale hotel restaurant, especially on a holiday.
We went for the Christmas buffet and it was amazing, the food was outstanding. The selection was beyond our expectations. Our server was very attentive, explained everything to us (as there were several serving stations), and couldn’t have been nicer.
I hadn’t been to this restaurant for several years, and was pleased at how they’ve enlarged it and added a wonderful and comfortable ambiance. I look forward to returning again!
Christmas Eve. One of a few restaurants open but that was not the downfall. We expected better ambiance for the area. It was more like a diner atmosphere. Brightly lit and loud. The service and food were good.
Wonderful Christmas Eve dinner! I had the fish special, which was a grilled Mahi Mahi on a yellow dirty rice with sausage and bacon and grilled asparagus. My husband had the pork chops, which he also loved. We also had the Butcher's Block (charcuterie) as an appetizer. All around fabulous dinner!
Great place to celebrate a birthday! Great craft beer selection too!
We were looking forward to our 10:30 reservation and when we got there for our 10:30 reservation we were told that because of low occupancy at the Hyatt, breakfast service ended at 10:30 and lunch would start at 11:30. I had family in from out of town with two small toddlers and a great grandmother. They told us we were welcomed to come back in an hour (at 11:30). If I had wanted 11:30, I would have made the reservation for then. Roost has always had great service and customer care. I’ve felt like to them this was no big deal, but to me it was a major disappointment. Also, why didn’t someone call me to let me know my 10:30 reservation would not be available? I confirmed through open table the evening before that we would be coming. We drove into Greenville from Simpsonville in the pouring rain with a party of 8. I just thought you should know how very dissatisfied were are.
Meats were great. Pasta and soup were awful. Service was wonderful.
We had no wait time to be seated, service was great, and food was delicious.
Food was fantastic! Server was excellent!
