Sunday Brunch is great! $4 Mimosas and omlet/waffles are great!
The food was exceptional and the tables were so cozy! It was a great little spot for date night with My Hubby!
Server was very attentive and personable. Food was so-so. Crab dip was Luke warm and gummy. Flatbread was ok but not as tasty as it was described on menu. Flatbread was also not “hot” when we got it. We did not complain to server so he was not aware. Food was “ok”. Drinks and atmosphere were great.,
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. We enjoyed the beautiful outdoor seating area.
Pleny of food and service was great !
Roost is normally our go-to for Sunday brunch/special occasions. To be honest, the quality of the food was down some this Father’s Day compared to when we were here for Mother’s Day this year. The variety of food was still decent but the dessert selection and quality was also down from previous visits. Increased cost on special holidays was a little steep considering the unexpected drop in quality. Hoping this was just an “off weekend” for the restaurant.
Father’s Day brunch
Father’s Day Brunch....best thing besides the view was my omelette. The four of us paid $172 for mediocre food. Hope their regular meals are better quality.
great server great variety great food will be back
Brunch was amazing. Mrs. Barb on the carving station was a gem. Thank you for making our Father’s Day special.
Really disappointed from the beginning. We visited on Father’s Day for breakfast. Family of six was seated. Table was halfway cleaned. Bread crumbs all over my seat. No introduction from waiter. Never asked if we had been there before so we didn’t know the process of ordering omelettes or waffles. We had 4 glasses of water poured for 6 people. After ordering coffee, found some black speck floating in the half&half. The food itself on the breakfast buffet was mediocre at best. I feel like we could’ve gotten that quality at Golden Corral. The omelet that was cooked to order was the best thing there. The waffles were okay. I will say that the chef working the line deserves some credit. He overheard me telling my daughter that they had waffles and not pancakes like she wanted. He offered to make her some special which made her morning. However, of the two pancakes she got, one was completely undercooked and just raw batter in the middle of the pancake. We wanted to like this place. I have seen many reviews about the place and was excited to go but the ball was dropped big time.
Mediocre at best, Bison Short Rib lacked flavor, no dressing was suggested or given to a guest who ordered a salad and did not speak English. With so many other restaurants we won't likely be back.
Excellent menu items and something for everyone. We sat outside and the atmosphere was amazing. We ordered dessert from the delicious choices. We'll be back.
Great location and wonderful food! Nice outdoor patio with a water fountain. A bit noisy and busy since it is located right next to the Hyatt, which is large.
We were in Greenville for a weekend and were attending the Thursday night "Downtown Alive" event in Noma Square. We sat on the patio at Roost to continue to watch the concert. The food and drinks at Roost topped off our evening. Perfect place to people watch, or just enjoy the outdoor ambiance.
Marked the food down because 2 of us had the brocolini vegetable and it was tough we couldn’t Cut it with our knives.
We discovered Roost for Sunday Brunch with some family in town a month ago. It immediately became our preferred destination for brunch given the breadth of Breakfast, Salad Bar, and lunch options, all worth raving about. Service has been top notch too.
We will be back, service was mediocre but food and atmosphere was pretty good.
Salmon was ordered rare but presented Medium. Will keep that in mind next time.
Scallops were delicious but there were only 3 medium.
The food was excellent and the ambiance of NOMA is exceptional. However, the service was mediocre with a bit of a wait to check in for the reservation. The waiter seemed to be a combination of inattentive and immature. The table was not setup and he seemed to resent requests for silverware and how to get omelets and waffles.
Nick, our waiter, did an excellent job and we all enjoyed our meal choices.
First time here and we enjoyed it. The food was ok. Portions were large. Server was friendly and accommodative.
Booked a reservation for a Friday night in hopes of securing patio seating for the live music at NOMA Square, but had to sit inside, because, by 6 PM, the patio was full. We could still hear the music inside, as the restaurant left the front door open. It was a bit warm for inside seating and loud because of the music, which was muffled and not quite the same as watching a live band. I'd have rather the door been shut if we couldn't sit outside and actually see and hear the music. Our server was very nice and incredibly accommodating. The food was good. We had the bison chili fries, I had the Naked pasta with shrimp, and my husband ordered a chicken dish. Overall, we were pleased with our meals. I just wish we could've reserved our preferred seating.
Waitress was great to start with then a larger table arrived and her attention was there most of the time. Our entrees were disgusting mostly due to the substance they called saffron risotto which was more like really really wet scrambled egg! It’s was horrible! The spinach also hadn’t been washed properly as it was really gritty, I worried for my teeth! Out of 4 adult diners none of us were happy with our meals and none of us ate very much. We couldn’t tell the waitress until after our meals as she never came back to check if everything was alright. By which time we all felt pretty sick and wanted to just leave. We complained about the saffron risotto (I literally cut it into a slice (like a pizza!) it held together and fell to the plate with a gross splat! Even the waitress thought it looked unpleasant! The general manager came to talk to us about the complaint but I was really disappointed to see he hadn’t even looked at the food we complained about. I think if he had he would have completely understood. Anyway he took 25% off of our bill and gave us a $50 voucher to come back again. I really don’t think we will unless it’s lunch and we stick to a burger only. Hopefully they won’t mess that up.
Also where we were sat was next to a large table of business people who were really loud and it totally put an end to our family night.
This was meant to be a treat for my parents who had just flown over from the UK and it was such a horrible Mistake to make. We won’t be doing that again!
We have been to The Roost several times when in Greenville and not ever disappointed with our choices.
Great outdoor dining fast courteous service. Food goid
Food was awesome!
Food was AMAZING!!!
Reasonable prices and great selection. Happy hour was especially good.
We went to Roost to celebrate our anniversary and because a singer we like was performing at NOMA square at the same time. They accommodated our special request for a patio table, even giving us one in the far back corner which was the best for listening while eating. Our server was attentive and pleasant to interact with. My husband had shrimp and grits, which he enjoyed, noting they had a little bit of a kick. I had meatloaf, cheddar mac & cheese, and they easily swapped the green beans for their kale/cabbage slaw. I appreciated that and the fact the menu made it clear it was a creamy slaw, my preference. I was a little disappointed in the meatloaf - I feel it was perhaps overdone and dry. I prefer a more tender, juicier meatloaf. We also felt the tea (I had mostly unsweet with a splash of sweet and my husband had half/half) tended toward having a bitterness to it that was a little unpleasant.
Overall, we had a nice experience due to the planning ahead of time. With Roost being a pricier restaurant than we normally choose, we will probably only go there on special occasions when something special is happening or offered (we ate there one Christmas morning, for example.) However, the location, ambiance and in general, the food, are all worth at least one visit.
We always enjoy brunch at Roost on Sundays. Our girls are 4 and 8 and there is plenty of variety so everyone is happy. We come every few weeks, but our most recent visit was a little sad. The hot lunch side of the buffet did not feature any seafood which we always look forward to. The two proteins were tri tip roast beef and fried chicken. The beef was always running out or completely empty which was disappointing. Same for the cold boiled shrimp on the salad bar. The price has gone up for both adults and children and it just didn’t feel like we got the same value as on previous visits.
Excellent service and food! Will definitely be back again!
It was our first time and we’re pleasantly surprised. My mother in law especially stated that she can hear better in your restaurant. Usually we have to repeat every word, bc the music is too loud. Thank you for a great dinner experience.
The Tomlin Family
We had a 7:00 show to attend at the Peace Center so we made a 5:30 reservation while staying at the Hyatt. We sat down and the server came right over to take our drink order and inform us of the specials. Our drinks came promptly and we decided to order. We like to enjoy our cocktails for a bit and were shocked when our order was delivered in five minutes! Although the food was delicious we thought the server, who obviously knew the food comes out of the kitchen quickly, could of let us know this and maybe put the order in a little later.
Service was excellent and waiter was VERY accommodating and efficient. Great afternoon
Morgan was a great server- the hostess was awesome, was able to be flexible and move us to outdoor seating on a beautiful day- staff friendly and accommodating and food was great quality- wings are some of the best in town and salmon was cooked perfectly
It was Mother's day so I guess the young children could not be expected to be quiet.
Food was a disappointment, especially the meats, could not enjoy the beef 'chewy'.
Sorry for this review...you asked.
Overall a great experience. Being brunch I would have liked to see more breakfast egg options other than omelette and scrambled eggs. I had asked if the had eggs Benedict, as it is my favorite, and was told yes when I made the reservation but there weren't any. The lunch side had great options and the waffles were insanely good. Make reservations and come hungry!
My family went to the Mothers Day brunch at roost and it was great. Service was amazing. Food selection was great. Enjoyed fresh shrimp, made to order waffles and omelettes, great salad selections and side choices.
