Excellent food but service was very slow. 45min before we got our salads out. It was Father's Day and seemed busier then usual.
We have been to Roost before. This time was quite disappointing. The buffet was poorly supplied. The staff was mediocre at best. I was disappointed that we made a reservation for six to accommodate our party but when we arrived, we were stuffed in a booth as if we were not expected.
We sat outside on the perimeter by the fountain. Paul was our waiter, & he was great! We stayed a couple of hours. He was attentive, patient & personable. The food was good, came out in a reasonable time & at a good temperature. Can’t say anything but positive words about the experience.
Our waiter was wonderful. He was pleasant, professional and accommodating
We had a lovely time! Our servers were very attentive and our food was great! We enjoyed the live singer- it was a nice mix of music 😃
Great place to have dinner. We were outside. Nice to watch the people and enjoy a meal.
Stopped in for dinner. Ordered drinks an an appetizer and never even received silverware or napkins. By the time we finished, the app and no one had checked back with us, we decided to ask for check and go somewhere else for dinner.
Have been to Roost several times but tonight seemed to be particularly great. The shrimp and grits were arguably the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Wait staff was exceptional as well. Will always highly recommend a stop here
Che ma our waiter was a delight!! Food and service was wonderful!!
Our server, Che, gave excellent service. Food was delicious especially the broccoli Caesar salad. We enjoyed the patio experience as well.
The food was fresh and tasted healthy. The service was friendly and very attentive. The value for why we paid was reasonable. We ate inside due to live entertainment on the patio on Friday night.
BBQ chicken was just naked deep fried chicken covered with BBQ sauce, and very dry. The green beans were very raw, far from Al Dante. The cheese board appeared to be nothing more than the thin sliced 3 variety pack that we have gotten from Costco. My daughter's steak was very fatty.
The location is very convenient for the Bon Secures venue and the service is good, but the food needs a lot of work. Maybe they were hit hard by COVID and are dealing with the financial hit. Will probably not go back.
Paul's service was great - hostess gave us a great table looking at the fountains - cuisine was yummy. Really enjoyed the experience
Good food, good value. Steaks were cooked perfectly.
A really nice venue in an excellent location with dreadful food. The restaurant is located on North Mani Street facing the courtyard of the Hyatt Regency. The venue is a great people watching place and would probably be a great place for drinks. The servers were excellent. Unfortunately the food isn’t even edible. It appears that the food is made elsewhere and then heated up and unbagged at the location. There are some great alternatives nearby - skip this place.
Even with the lack of staff the service was excellent and the food hot and delicious.
Went here for brunch and initially booked outdoor seating due to no other options being made and was more interested in inside seating because of the weather. They accommodated us with no problem and we were seated right away. Paul was our server and he was very friendly and attentive despite being noticeable busy. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of grits, eggs cooked hard, and bacon. The food was awesome and cooked to perfection. My boyfriend ordered French toast which he enjoyed however I didn’t try. The food came out VERY FAST which was awesome. The only critique I would have would be that our appetizer came out after our meals but I understand things happen and we still enjoyed the appetizer too. Thank you Roost for a great Sunday brunch date! Can’t wait to come back.
Nothing special, average (even possibly slightly below average meal) in an attractive setting. We did have an excellent server, but probably won’t return due to lackluster quality of food
We went to Roost for my 25th Birthday! They do not offer any specials or birthday “treats” if anyone came here wondering. The Ravioli was recommended but it contained about 6 raviolis in a clear broth almost. Wouldn’t get it again. The salmon and shrimp and grits were amazing!
By far our worst dining experience in years. We had a reservation at 8:30 and they promptly sat us. A nice gentlemen took an appetizer and drink order and then we never saw him again. At 8:50 we started to ask anyone with a uniform on if we could put in an order for our dinner. An annoyed waiter came and took our order at exactly 9pm. No mention of any rush. At 9:20 our mediocre food came. Our annoyed waiter did not ask if we wanted anything else. At 9:25 we flagged another uniformed person for help. He got our annoyed “waiter” again, we asked for another round of drinks. He said “fine but that’s it”. To which we asked what he meant and he said, “we closed at 9pm. It’s last call at the bar.” So we said ok we better get a dessert menu. He told us the kitchen closed at 9pm and it was too late. No warning at all. Who takes an 8:30 reservation and closes the kitchen with diners in the restaurant at 9pm? Who closes the kitchen without asking if we want to order anything else? We were there for a birthday celebration and no dessert? When we explained the situation he said too bad can’t be handled anyway than it has been. Waiter was rude and clearly could not care less. He told us we should tip him well since the restaurant was understaffed and it wasn’t his fault. He was far more concerned with his tip then our dining experience. He was tipped well because I always do but I am telling you DONT GO THERE - YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. You have been warned.
Our server was excellent, even with the large crowd. Food was excellent.
It was sooooooo nice to get out with friends again!
We had a great brunch... good food and good service.
Very first interaction with a male waiter was very frustrating. I noticed a water ring on the table which made me feel like the table wasn’t wiped down after the previous people. I showed the waiter and he abruptly came back and wiped the water ring off the table quickly, made no eye contact and then walked on to another table. Then our waitress did not come to our table in a timely manner to get our drink order. I told her about the water ring and that I still felt like my table had not been wiped down. She didn’t seem to understand and just laughed it off and said, “He’s just like that”. Our table never got wiped down. The food was not what we expected either. My husband’s chicken wings were not fried crispy like he asked and I never got my salad dressing for my wedge salad. I have been more satisfied with my food at a cheap bar over this place. The waitress also complained about having prom people who expected their bill to be split up because it was such a hassle, she suddenly turned her back to the open air area when she thought she saw someone she knew at one point, and she rolled her eyes too many times to count. I immediately cancelled my reservation for brunch the next day. I will never go back to Roost.
It was a late mother’s day brunch, and it was really good! First time at Roost & it wont be my last!
The waiter was great and food was good
Food was great. My only complaint was the service, it was pretty sub-par. We came mid-week with only 3 tables including ours and two servers. The server was not attentive and was more interested chatting with the other server at the bar. With all the food competition downtown I’ll probably choose a different restaurant next time.
Nice selection of breakfast items. food was delicious. Great service
The food was great. It was a beautiful evening to have an outside table. The only problem was that our reservation was for 8, and we didn't get seated until 8:20. Not huge, but not good. The reason we make reservations is so we don't have to wait.
Dirty restrooms, horrible service and just ok food.
The outdoor seating is great. Food was good but I found the menu a bit limited.
What a beautiful small city urban spot! The food was very good--my salad could have had a little more oomph (some nuts or fruit, perhaps)--and the Runner's Club was huge. But it was the open air patio and fountain that stole the show.
We had reserved our table for 5 the night before where the only option for seating was “standard”. Our friends who arrived a few mins prior to us, reserved the day of and somehow managed to be seated outside. When my husband inquired about the outdoor seating where a table clearly seemed available outside, the Mgr rudely said what he needed to and blamed the system for making seating options available or unavailable. He then glared his eyes in such a threatening way it was uncomfortable, especially with my kids looking at his behavior back to us. His response could have been more customer friendly, but it was certainly far from that. Our server and the food were great. The Mgr on the other hand was a total jerk. He definitely needs to revisit customer service 101 again.
Seated in the back next to the bathroom despite requesting outside during the reservation, on the phone confirming the reservation, and on arrival. There was plenty of room outside both before and after our meal. Service was extremely slow and had to ask for things multiple times. Food took way too long for burgers, pizza, and ravioli. They seemed way understaffed.
My Caesar salad was good. Very disappointed we couldn’t sit outside. Stuck in a bar area. Waiters were very friendly. Wouldn’t recommend.
My daughters birthday brunch
It was amazing
A group of us we’re celebrating a birthday. It was a great experience. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the atmosphere and beautiful weather. The service was great. They were accommodating g in splitting the checks and even split the birthday girl’s check in 7 parts so we could all treat!
It was ok, none of it was amazing. The garlic fries are not garlic fries, they are plain steak fries. I would expect garlic fries to be more like shoestring fries, so was surprised to get a plain serving of steak fries. Shrimp and grits were probably the best of the dishes we ordered, the burger was good too. Our waiter got pretty sidetracked, it took a loooong time for our appetizers and drinks to come. Probably a better place to go with the family than an adults-only dinner.
