Great atmosphere, service and food
A long time Virginia Beach person recommended 3 places, and this was their top one. We chose Rockafellers and are really glad. Having a place that takes reservations and honors them is important in this town.
Great selections. Food was excellent. Noticed that the wait staff are not teenagers - this place has professionals all round.
We will come back.
Did not have the advertised special but made up for it. Great dinner and service.
It was a fantastic dinner. We were there specifically for the shrimp special we saw online. However, when we were ready to order, we were told that special wasn’t offered anymore.
But the manager honored the shrimp special!!! That showed us how much a customer experience meant to the management staff.
Our waiter, Chris, was excellent. Personable & professional!
Thank you Rockafeller’s for a wonderful dining experience!!
We took advantage of the $14.99 special food not great. Salads where, well salads can't mess that up too much, I had salmon with green beans, asked for no potatoes due to health reasons, I got potatoes was not offered a substitute they went onto another plate. Green beans way too many and not sure what they were cooked in but too greasy/buttery didn't like them. Hubby had ribs I think he said they were ok. Dessert key lime pie was ok. Our server was very good helped hubby pick a beer as he likes trying different local ones. Would not return. Guess we got what we paid for which is sad with so many restaurants you really should be on top of your game.
The food was amazing! If you enjoy She Crab Soup, I sincerely say that you MUST get theirs! Definitely the best in Virginia Beach!
Great food and service. Local seafood was excellent!!!
The food was excellent but service wasn't I'd would've liked.
Used OpenTable to get a reservation here last minute for Easter, when everywhere was mobbed. A great local seafood place with a fantastic view. Get the Oysters Rockafeller, obviously, or you can get them raw. If you're not from the area, it's important to realize that the best oysters in the country come from the bay and rivers in Southeastern Virginia, and our local oysters are served, at much higher prices, at restaurants all over the country. The views here are fantastic. I also like that you can get a salad with Ahi Tuna which is always done really well.
I've been here many times over the years, but hadn't for a while when I came on Easter. Definitely a great place, and for special occasions or weekends in the summer when they're likely to be mobbed, this is one of the only good local seafood places that actually takes reservations so it's definitely your best bet if you don't want to waste an hour standing around waiting for a table.
Again, Rockafeller's does not fail to come through with a totally enjoyable dining experience. We have dined and brunched here for years (this occasion was Easter brunch) in fact had our wedding rehearsal dinner there! Greeted like old friends, terrific service (attentive and not hurried at all). The fare for brunch is outstanding!
Food was okay, but I wasn't thrilled with my lobster salad sandwich. It was a very thin layer of lobster salad on a very thick brioche bun. Could hardly taste or even perceive the lobster salad on the first bite. Ended up removing the bun and picking out the lobster salad with my fork. She crab soup was good, though.
Good Easter Brunch at our favorite Sunday place. Was disappointed that we could not order the regular Sunday Bloddy Mary and Mimosa, but had to get the Easter Special offerings which were really not to our taste.
Food was excellent and very fresh
Took My wife and some friends here for my wife's birthday. Everyone at the table really enjoyed the food, but the menu is semi-limited so if you don't like sea food your choice of options is small. The building itself sits right on the water and out table overlooked the water with a nice sunset. I think this is a great place for locals in the off season, but the parking is tight and it's probably a nightmare dealing with tourists during the summer along with the rest f the oceanfront.
The staff is EXCELLENT!!! Valet Team, Hostess, Waitress... All excellent customer service
Had dinner here while on vacation. Absolutely delicious. Oysters Rockafeller amazing!
Two of us. A very quiet, midweek lunch. The very charming waiter forgot our appy then forgot a beer. Fail!
Excellent food and service! Our party of eight (8) all enjoyed the drinks and food.
Waiter was very patient while I met my best friend whom I had not seen for a year & was not feeling well. He checked several times until our visit had completed before trying to take our order. Food was very good as usual. We brought our own dessert since most are gluten free - it was not a problem.
My name is Tyrone Jones. I made reservations two months ago because I was flying my mom from Charleston SC for her 78th birthday. A special occasion was ruined. I was told during the reservation I would be given the best view. We had a view of the parking lot and the boat docks. The waiter was simply terrible. His name is William D. We received our appetizers at different times. We received our entrees at different times. Our waiter never greeted us. He never showed any interest in serving my family. He never explained the menu or any specials. He never asked if we dine before. This was my family's first visit. We had to ask for everything. Instead of the waiter aaking when we would like the birthday cake bought out it just appeared all of a sudden while we werr having a family moment. My entire family complained about the dinng experience. Nevertheless we made the best out of a most unpleasant experience. To make a terrible situation worse we received our checks with an automatic 20% gratuity. I was not informed of this restaurant policy. I have many friends who work in the service industry. I believe in tips. However, tips are related to level of service and building a relationship with the customer. This did not happen. Im so disappointed in the way my family was treated. We spent over $400. I have served my country. I spent over 20 years in the air force. Im a college business professor been all over the world and ate in hundreds of restaurants. This was my worst dining experience. Tyrone R Jones, MBA 757 343 7000.
Our birthday dinner celebration was a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I definitely recommend the early bird specials.
Always a good choice a local favorite....solid service as always
We come here every time we go to Williamsburg. It’s about a hour away from Williamsburg. Staff is welcoming and attentive without hovering. Restaurant is clean and has beautiful views. Now for the food! Everything I’ve tried I’ve liked except for the Caesar salad and that’s only because I like creamy dressing! I get the steamed shrimp and it is a lot of shrimp! My husband gets the Lobster dinner ( they have a special on Thursday for the Lobster). If you are looking for good seafood, nice views and nice ambience, come here!
Awesome food, service, views, and atmosphere. Large portions and great drinks!
We had a great meal. Fish was fresh and well prepared. Waiter friendly and attentive.
The food was excellent. The service was fast.
The food was great...However I left my left tray on the table when I departed by accident. I guess the food so good that I lost site. I thought the waitress would have said sir here is your food. Oh well.
After 3 decades of our enjoyment, Rockafeller's continues to be current and traditional with those favorites we have come to expect. We have never been disappointed.
Delicious and great menu. Friendly staff and great view of the water. Will definitely recommend!
My wife and I have loved this place for years. We were there on Restaurant Day in February 2018, which featured a fixed price menu, and it was very good, selections for every palate. My only complaint is extremely minor. This restaurant serves a terrific limeade, very sweet, and I sometimes order one when feeling sugar indulgent. But this time the limeade was bitter and disappointing. I would give it another try, but if it is again overly tart rather than sweet I will give it up. But an insignificantly minor point in a place that serves predictably good food, with a delightful harbor view. If you are in Virginia Beach and haven't been to Rockafeller's, by all means go. If you have been there, go again.
Excellent food and excellent service as always!! Brian runs a well oiled, customer service oriented, premier dining establishment!!
Rock's is our favorite go to place! Food is awesome, service is very good and the value is spectacular! Whether it is their specials, their happy hour or "a date" for you and your mate, it doesn't disappoint? And the view is pretty darn cool too. It is a must try when you are in VB.
Shrimp was raw, but entree was taken off the check
This was our first visit to Rockafeller's and we would be happy to return. Everyone in our party was happy with the service and food. The view of the adjoining marina was enjoyable and we had a good table by the window.
Had not been to Rockafeller's in about 8yrs. Back then it was busy food good. This vist place was dead during Sunday brunch , food mediocre. Not going back or recommending. Service was good.. no complaints
A seafood restaurant that waste natural resources by preparing food so poorly. Noisy but expected.
We are new to the area and decided to try this place. I had the shrimp stuffed with crab meat and it was wonderful. I will definitely be back.
On a last minute visit to VA Beach, we decided we needed some local seafood. Great choices of a variety of fresh fish, crabs, and shellfish. Nice beer selection on draft. The place has a bit of a "tourist at the water" feel, but it works well. Also, TVs in another section seemed to be popular with the sporting crowd. We noted several tables that seemed to be regulars chatting with the waitstaff. My flounder was quite fresh and ample. The sides are traditional and seasonal with a very basic seasoning choice. Really nice soup and salad to get things started.
Great seating at window. Had fantastic view of marina. ...............
We stumbled across Rockafeller's several years ago. It's a must on our dining list when we are in VA Beach!
