This was the best steak i’ve ever had!! I would absolutely come back. The drinks, service, apps, entrees and dessert was incredible. Get the 8oz filet!!
good food and friendly staff but limited food menu was a little of a let down
Dessert order very delayed.
Did not tell us that pecan pie had chocolate
Great experience! Went for a bachelorette party nice dinner and the staff brought out a celebratory cheesecake for the bride to be
The staff accommodated a reservation change with no problems. The food was delicious and our server, Jameson, was outstanding!!! I've eaten on private islands with worse service.
Birthday! Everything was spectacular!!!!!
Menu was very limited. My husband had been told several times how good the pork chop was... very disappointed that they did not have it when we went.
Great as always. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because they were out of their famous burgers.
Absolutely terrific, from beginning to end. Wonderful experience, terrific meal.
We absolutely love this restaurant and try to come whenever we are in Austin. The service is always excellent from the minute you enter the front door; the hostesses, the bar staff and the wait staff are engaging and attentive. I can truly say we have never had a bad or even mediocre meal at Roaring Fork. The food is outstanding every time and unlike most steak house restaurants the atmosphere is great which makes the whole experience even better!
We do a lot of high-end chain dining- Capital Grill, Fleming’s, Perry’s, Del Frisco, etc. Short version—-Run, don’t walk, to Roaring Fork! We may never revert to what seems to be very lame, over-priced and disappointing- of- late chains. BEST meal we’ve ever had, top to bottom!!! THE “must experience” whenever in Austin. ❤️❤️❤️
I've been in Austin my whole life and had many different steaks and this one was the best! Everything we ordered was delicious. The location is perfect and the ambience and atmosphere was great too! Not too loud, just right. The service was slow but very worth it!
Great experience. Steak was a little tough for the price (not as tender as expected) but otherwise great dining experience. Redfish was very good but spicy so you need to know that when ordering.
The chef wouldn't accommodate 2 requests for us so we left.
Overall we weren’t super happy with the experience. Our waiter was a big part of that overall assessment. He was dismissive and didn’t even ask my boyfriend fir his food order. We had to tell him as he was a walking away from the table. He just kept leaving and not checking on us. Secondly, the restaurant was freezing. Everyone in our party was commenting on how cold they were men and women alike.
The best part of the experience was the food, although the Cesar salad could definitely use an overall. We couldn’t even eat it.
The remainder of the food was delicious! That was the saving grace of the evening.
Great evening as always, the downtown location def sets the standard for this chains excellence.
If you remember the Roaring Fork before the pandemic, you will not be disappointed, almost like the pandemic never happened. And the Elgin sausage stuffing, comfort food at its finest! My guest's salmon on a plank, done to perfection. Pecan pie worth a try, but be prepared for something quite different. Overall, highly recommend.
The food here has always been good and still is. I had the redfish which was excellent.
Steak was good overall some bitter charring, smaller and twice the price of Texas Road House.
Amazing food! Phenomenal service!
Big disappointment- after seeing all the delicious looking photos, the menu was definitely a truncated version. One page with less options then in and out. The drinks were ridiculously priced- I could have purchased 2 bottles of Casmigos for the price of my 2 drinks. My youngest daughter was looking forward to a menu item that apparently they don’t make anymore - even though the online menu showed it.
Excellent on all fronts! One of the best values in the city right now.
Food and drinks were excellent. Easy to set a reservation as well!
The tortilla soup was the best I ever had. And the pork loin was absolutely perfect! Great meal!
Solid food, good service in nice atmosphere
I eat out three or four times a week. I generally do not expect an “Oh Wow” experience in dining. However, with a restaurant in a “historical hotel” with a name like “Roaring Fork” you expect to say “Oh Wow!”
To be honest this was not near what I had hoped! The drink menu is rather weak— three times I heard a waitress tell customers— sorry we don’t carry anything like that—.
The food menu was much more limited than I would expect. The Cedar plank Salmon I ordered was standard fair, good, not exceptional — a bit dry but not a horrible taste.
I ended up with a basic Chopin Vodka and a very slight splash of cranberry. The bartender understood well what very slight meant and I appreciated that deeply. Most bartenders make it so red it ruins the drink. So I am very pleased.
The environment is nice! The server was very good. I will return on normal occasions but this is not the place for that exceptional experience.
Great steak - crispy and tastefully juicy and tender inside - and amazing creme brulleé !
Everything was great expect..we ordered the salmon dinner, was expecting a lil more flavor but it was edible.
The food was not good, and the quality of ingredients is poor.
Steak was ok, but not worth the price. Street corn was really dry, steak mushrooms were the best part of the dinner.
Food was very good and service was as well. Chicken dish with cornbread stuffing was very tasty. Wine list was good but overpriced a bit.
An exceptional dining experience was provided at the Roaring Fork restaurant. The building’s exterior was “Meh”. Pass thru the doors and inside was magical! Those of us who remember speakeasies would think we had entered a time machine. My wife and her friends devoured the Brussel Sprouts. I wisely savored pork tenderloin with Mexican corn and very fluffy mashed potatoes. An intimate atmosphere plus enjoyable foods. Yes, I will return ( with or without the wife).
Very disappointing. When last I was there I ordered the tortilla soup which I love. Served in a deep bowl with plenty of broth. On Easter Sunday it was served in a shallower bowl so that every time you spooned, you clinked the bottom of the bowl. Soup not terribly hot. Coffee not hot at all. Slow service. Server told us she was brewing a fresh pot. That was doubtful since the coffee was luke warm.
We were to come this next week with a party of 6 for a birthday celebration with friends who have not experienced RF. But we cancelled it because of our experience.
Thank you for asking.
Wonderful evening with my husband - food was exceptional.
We had a wonderful dinner at toeing
Would highly recommend. Husband is still talking about his meal almost 3 days later and he doesn’t easily impress. Food was fabulous ambience was great, service was fantastic. Will definitely recommend to friends and will most certainly return next time we find ourselves in Austin!
Wonderful. Thank you.
Simply fantastic. The ambiance was great, service impeccable, food fantastic. In the land of restaurants that are loud and gaudy this place stands out as a place of comfortable, casual excellence.
This place was amazing the lamb fondue was my favorite!
