Perfect. You’re paying for the view and the food. Both are worth it.
Great views and ambience, but the food is not what it was years ago. Only 1 pinot in their wine by the glass selections.
Lovely view and great food. A good place for a special occasion.
Such a wonderful experience. Great food, great service. We will be back.
Excellent venue, slow service, I think really due to attenuated service for our waitperson’s section. When you are an “experienced” diner, it’s not comfortable to wait so long to order.
We were traveling the coast spectacular view!
This is a singularly beautiful location. Few places can compare location-wise, and the food is also excellent. This is a great spot for a romantic dinner, a birthday or anniversary celebration, or a fun excursion. We tried the elk (it's farm raised) and it was delicious.
My wife and I go here several times a year. They have local seasonal food specialties that are unique, tasty, and well presented. I can usually order something there that I have never tried before and is excellent. The staff is welcoming and provides very good service. The wine list gives you a good range of options. We've been there on sunny evenings with wonderful views of the ocean and river; we've also been there on foggy evenings when the views aren't there. Either way, the ambiance is wonderful and we always walk out saying what a great meal and evening we've had. Highly recommended.
Everything about our evening was perfect: service, setting, and the exquisite food.
The Salmon and my fillet mignon were very tender and both cooked to perfection. The salmon chowder was so flavorful with big chunks of salmon. The salmon chowder was a first for me, I was impressed.
The restaurant was clean, warm and had excellent views of the river and the ocean. Cocktails were on point and their wine selection was impressive.
I have enjoyed petrale sole here several times, and had looked forward to having it again. You should tell the chef(s) to ditch the recipe that was on Monday's menu--the sauce was soupy and the flavors in it overpowered the sole and tasted like something that belonged on a fattier, richer fish. If the chef was hell bent to try that sauce, It would have been far better to have simply put it into a separate container to be added as wished by the diner . I would not order that again, nor would I recommend it. Had to order a serving of bread just to sop up the wet mess surrounding the sole.
The prawns, on the other hand, were excellent according to the guest who ordered it, and as I recall the dish.
Service was attentive, as always, but this twist on a classic delicate fish made the lunch a very poor value for me and the guest who also ordered it.
We celebrated 4 birthdays at a lovely waterfront table!! Everyone was so friendly and our meals were superb!!
Made the trip from the East Bay area to River's end and it was well worth it. We ordered the beet salad, Elk and the seasonal Salmon. The food and drinks were amazing and so was our waitress. We will definitely be back again.
Lovely setting for a romantic dinner.
The only issue is the horribly rude man at the door.
How sad this restaurant, on the beautiful Sonoma coast has this unpleasant man working. It's a terrible start to a lovely dinner.
Once we got past the unpleasantness at the door, all was good.
The service was friendly and knowledge, the food was well prepared.
And Mr. Rude was gone when we left.
All in all its a good restaurant with a stunning location.
We try and visit at least once per year. Beautiful views and great service. Limited menu, but everything is very good
We took our out of town friends to Rivers End for a great dining experience. Like us, they were not disappointed.
We’ve been several times, and have never had anything but a great experience.
After a long hike at Jenner Headlands we had a 2:00 reservation. The parking is horrible and this time of year the traffic on the highway was extremely bad. After several drive by’s we finally got a parking space. My wife and I ordered a beer I a Porter which the brought me a Pilsner or something??? It took several minutes for the wait staff to return to to switch out my beer.
They were out of the salmon cakes and another dish that I would have ordered so I settled on the fish & chips...quite surprised that the “chips” were a very generic French fry...not what I would expect from a restaurant like this.
The setting is serine.
The food is superb.
The service outstanding.
Very charming setting on the shores of the Russian River at the mouth of the Pacific.
Make reservations, it's always busy.
We were very disappointed- asked for a table with a view for our anniversary and were literally stuffed in a corner despite many pleasant available tables with views. It took 20 minutes for us to even be acknowledged and 30 minutes before we got our drinks (which we order when we ordered dinner because it took so long). We were seated next to a table of loud boisterous men who made it difficult to hear or enjoy any”ambiance”. The sunset was pretty but we felt disappointed that we chose to spend our anniversary there because we were treated so poorly.
The views are outstanding! We had the salmon chowder and the seafood pasta and everything was delicious! We will return
Had an amazing experience from start to finish! Stunning views, delicious food, as well as wonderful and experienced staff. Couldn’t have asked for a better time while dining solo!
We had an amazing experience at the Rivers End Restaurant so professional, knowledgeable, timely and caring. She even recognized us from last year. The cabins are are individual and offer privacy with the most jaw dropping view of the Russian River meeting the Sonoma Coast, so stunning. It’s all you need. Who cares if there’s no WiFi available, no kitchen, and no TV in the cabin- we go there to disconnect and enjoy the ocean sights and sounds. There is a seal nursery right there too, so we’ve seen them both years now... and you just can’t get enough. This year we also kayaked, just down the street a mile away we recommend that too! Jenner is special & Rivers End is a Treasure. This is our favorite place to get away!
Lovely views and delicious food
Amazing views of where the Russian River meets the Pacific! Worth the drive for a wonderful meal and experience! Great service. Reminded us of a Wisconsin supper club on the West Coast! Made our whole trip to Sonoma! Will recommend to all of our friends.
What a great little spot on the hill. The views from the dining room are fantastic. Great service from start to finish, the chef knows a thing or two, I highly recommend the Elk. Never had it before that night, it was just a fantastic dish.
This Is a beautiful gem on the bank of the Russian River right where it meets the Pacific Ocean. It is quiet , the food is exquisite, the service is first-class, but all of that is surpassed by the view. We loved how patrons would leave their table for the outside deck to appreciate the magnificent beauty of this place at sunset.
Our experience this particular time at River's End was mostly the excellent one we've always had. The food is outstanding and our server was friendly and accessible, whenever needed, but never intrusive. The ONLY demerit, and thus, the reason for four stars, rather than five, is solely because of the gentleman who was at the front desk, accounting for reservations and seating people. He was really not pleasant and warm, as all others we have encountered there. Too bad, as being the first to greet people (which he did not do, by the way, but waited for us to speak to him), it was unfortunate that he was not welcoming.
This would have been a perfect experience had it not started out so poorly. The older waiter who seated us could not have been more rude. I am sure he hears the same thing over and over, "Can you seat us near the window?" But I could have done without the snide response, "You only placed your reservation two days ago. People book months in advance." Two points for being bitter and rude. The rest of the evening was fine. Our waitress was lovely, albeit a little inattentive when we needed some things. The dishes were all tasty, though nothing was truly spectacular. You are paying for the sunset. I had the filet with blue cheese. My partner had the salmon special. I ordered a Faux Kir mock-tail and it was a waste of money. Tasteless. No dessert. We felt it was better spent somewhere else. It is one of those "must do" kind of places and if you have the extra money to spend. Otherwise, you can just pull over on the side of the road to watch the sunset.
Outstanding salmon dinner! Service was friendly and efficient.
Recommended primarily for spectacular location and view.
The smokey fresh grilled salmon with charred corn, forbidden rice and watermelon salad is a winner! Perfectly prepared and presented.
Was great as always
Awesome birthday celebration
All appetizers were great. The entrées were a bit bland for out taste.
Excellent for and service.
Great place! Got a really great view table by the window. We were able to enjoy the sunset. Great food. Everything tasted great. I had the elk and my wife had the seasonal salmon.
Outstanding food and service.
A very special restaurant. The view of the river meeting the ocean is lovely. The food and service are exquisite. Love this place.
Beautiful location watching the river compete with the ocean and the food is some of the best ever!
