During our last visit, I ordered the 24 oz porterhouse steak and my wife the lobster. Both of our meals were very delicious. The steak was actually too much for me and my wife really enjoyed her's. Can't wait to go back.
It is a very nice restaurant but sorry to say the waiter that I had really did not know anything about the restaurant. she didn’t give a meat presentation when I first asked about the different cuts of meat. I seen another waiter bring out the meat platter( different cuts on a cutting board) so I asked her what was that then she volunteered to go get it. I ordered the oysters in which they came from different areas and regions when they came to the table she did not know what type of oysters was on the sampler and that was the reason of me ordering the sampler! I got the sample so I call taste all different types of oysters. Also for the main entrée I ordered crabcakes and they were not to my liking( did not eat the two crab cakes) and she still wanted to charge me. I ask her to speak to the manager to get it taken off my bill!
Always amazing! Usually have Charlie as our waiter / sommelier. This time we did not but he came over to take care of our wine pairing and was spot-on as usual. Our waitress was super and the rest of the wait staff are always there for anything you need. The only thing that was not to our liking was the new mussels dish, it was prepared perfectly but not really our style. Filet mignon and pork chop were both top-notch!
Can't say enough good about this restaurant, it is our go-to Celebration Place. Last night was my better halfs birthday. Thanks for another great experience Riverstone.
The ambiance for us was very elegant when we were seated towards the back of the restaurant with the fireplace.
The food was good but it wasn’t the quality dining experience or food we’ve had at other restaurants in the same or lower price range. This is a chain restaurant feel with a higher price tag.
Server was super nice! Food was excellent! Will come back again.
We waited almost 45 minutes between the appetizer and our meal. Food was average at the best. I was looking forward to a nice experience but ended up
Food was just okay. We will eat here again but I was not impressed. Great service and ambiance.
Had an awesome time!!! Highly recommended for exceptional dining experience.
Greeted and seated immediately with our reservation. Wonderful service and delicious food! Definitely a splurge, but it was our anniversary. They gave us a Champagne toast on the house to celebrate.
Was great the prawns were over cooked but that was the only slight complaint.
The food was good (tasty), but very overpriced for the quantity / quality. (Over $200 for dinner for two, one appetizer, one dessert, no alcohol, separate entrees) The tables were so close that the person in the adjacent table had to get up and move in order for others to get by. The waitress was attentive and professional. The background music was nice and helped to set a very mellow mood. It's a nice enough place, and there's nothing overtly negative, but nothing really positive that stood out or set it apart either. Overall it's a nice place.
Beautiful place. Wife’s crab cake was sub par and my steak had a lot of pink in it and I ordered it medium well. Drinks were outstanding.
Always amazing food and excellent service at the Riverstone Chophouse.
Great Food, great service, nice atmosphere! Our steak and lamb were perfectly cooked. The crab cake and scallops that were part of our order were outstanding. We eat there every News Years Eve and really look forward to it!
I’ve been here many times with way better food and more desirable and memorable experiences. Maybe it was an off night… food was delayed, service was slow and subpar, food was luke warm to cold…
Doesn’t mean I won’t return… the place is still a local favorite.
Dinner was excellent. We did not do the “experience”, we ordered off the menu. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the ambiance is very nice. Our only complaint would be that they need to improve the desserts. For the price they were nothing special. One of the desserts we got was an apple which tasted like pie filling with oats on top. That said we are going back! The steak was amazing.
Food and server was great. Me and my wife loved our experience and will definitely be back soon.
Beautiful design and great food. The staff were amazing too.
A Lot of stake and seafood selections to choose from. Plenty of wine and cocktail pairings and a delicious dessert menu.
I’ll just say this:
How do you have a Christmas Brunch and run out of BREAD at noon?
No toast, no biscuits, no English muffins….
Chocolate chip scones did not enhance my meal of Shrimp and Grits
I was treating a group of friends and was very embarrassed
So disappointed. C’ mon you can do better
Love this for any occasion!!!
Outstanding as always. We frequent the Chophouse at least 6 times a year. The food and service is definitely worth the price. We have never had a complaint. Absolutely one of our favorite places to dine!!!
We went to celebrate our birthdays (husbands was yesterday, mine was last Sunday). We had the chef’s tasting menu, which came with a sommelier who paired wines with each of the 4 courses and it was so lovely!
We started with 1 cocktail each before the first course arrived, and we were both pleased with our choices (Basil Hayden Toast, neat, for me and a whiskey drink called Dragon’s Breath for husband.
First course husband had the oysters, raw, and I had the Caesar salad. First wine was a white Cali wine that I did not like (no surprise there, I’ve tried cali wines and don’t like any of them) but husband was pleased with.
Second course was chicken with bacon and caramelized onion relish with beets for me and salmon with root veg for husband (we both tried bites of each others dish and both were sooo so good!) with a white Spanish wine that I surprisingly loved. I don’t eat fish but when I tried a bite of the salmon, I was so pleasantly surprised. I may just order salmon the next time we go!
Third course was a choice of smoked fillet mignon with broccolini and mashed potato or a shrimp pasta dish, but we both chose the fillet, with an Italian Chianti.
Fourth course was dessert - maple bacon creme brûlée for husband and apple cobbler for me, with a spicy dessert wine. The Creme brûlée was one of the best things we had all night!
Dinner was SOO so so good and the waitstaff were amazing. The sommelier was really well educated and told us a lot about where each wine came from and some history on the wine, as well as how the wine would affect the flavor of the dish, and likewise how the dish would affect the flavor of the wine. It was really interesting to experience. My husband said that he really enjoyed the small tasting menu and education from the sommelier, as it made us more aware of the flavors, mouth feel, and other experiences each bite of food or sip of wine gave us.
We will definitely be back to try the full menu at some point, that’s for sure!
Excellent service and food
It was my first time dining there for our 18th anniversary! Everything was very nice as expected. The only problem I had was my steak being charred. There is a proper way to make well-done steaks without burning them to do so. I’ve never had a charred one until I came here. That was unexpected. Other than that, everything was wonderful, including the staff! And I was pleasantly surprised at the little extra that went with the champagne and grapes they presented to us as an anniversary gift! That was awesome!
Food was expensive and not notable in taste or presentation.
Expensive for sub average meal
Everything was perfect for the wife’s birthday dinner with one exception. There was a table of men sitting on the other side of our dining area and one of the men was talking so loud we could hardly hear each other. Thankfully once his dinner arrived he concentrated on eating rather than talking.
Delicious!! Waiter was outstanding, the seating was perfect!
Very romantic dinner. It was for my husband birthday. They called in advance to see if anything else needed. Food and service was excellent. Thanks so much.
Food was good, service was excellent, but for the cost, I just think there was more expected.
I’ve been coming to Riverstone for about 10 years. I’m amazed at how they have kept their competence and reputation over that time. I’ve never had a bad experience or a bad tasting meal. I highly recommend this restuarant
It was a fantastic eating experience. The food and atmosphere was wonderful.
The service was outstanding! Amanda was an amazing server.
We have been going every year for our anniversary, and have always been WOW’ed, last night the food was good and the server was kind, but we had to wait a bit. Also this is first year we did not get bread or a small anniversary gift. I understand that was a nice gesture and not required, but it was one of the things that made them stand out to my wife and I. Still good food.
Brought my best friend and sister out for a holiday dinner. The food was amazing and the staff were super efficient and friendly! We were seated next to the fireplace which was perfect for the cold evening.
Food was very good, but service is lacking. Reservation note said birthday guest would like a gluten-free dessert, but they only had sorbet to offer. I made the reservation weeks in advance so they had plenty of time to prepare something. My guest was disappointed to say the least, especially since Richmond has so many excellent restaurants. "This would not have happened at home."
Excellent food and service. The Delmonico steak was one of the best steaks I’ve had out in years. Expansive wine list leaning towards expensive but good quality. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Price may be out of reach for frequent dining but definitely worth the trip for a special occasion.
Warm, gracious service and excellent food. Recommend for special times with friends and family.
Delicious food and excellent service.
