Since this chophouse opened, it's been our go-to place for fine dining and now brunch. Brunch offers a diverse selection of deliciousness. I would be more happy if there were alternatives to the pork and beef sausage or bacon with Turkey or chicken sausage or bacon. Otherwise, this is always my first choice.
The food was awesome and service was excellent ..great place to take business clients. Would go there again and again.
If you want incredible food, spectacular drinks, and awesome service, EAT HERE! My waitress, Falon, was awesome. I loved every bite of my meal. I was sad when it came to an end. I can't wait to come back!
Birthday dinner. Great food and service every time.
This is an excellent restaurant, the steaks are truly fabulous. In the winter you must try the sweet potato casserole, and he brussel sprouts
Mother and sister birthday celebration, enjoyed the experience.
Amazing, wife loved the food, atmosphere was calming. Definitely will return
Took my wife for a date night. Had the 120 day aged Rib eye. Dallas the executive Chef visited our table to talked about the steak. He made cooking recommendations and he was spot on. The whole night was amazing. Food was spectacular. Drinks were on point. Thank you River Stone Chophouse for another amazing date night.
Great Brunch. The prime rib was excellent and food selection was great!
Service was slow, but the food was excellent
Wife’s birthday and our anniversary
Nice ambiance, excellent service and quality! Great experience.
We usually spend our anniversary, birthdays etc. at Riverstone. This is the first time I felt that they didn't give us their best. I planned a week ago to dine there. We were given a table literally stuck in the corner looking into the kitchen. The young lady who seated us, could not have cared less about our concern. We would have gladly waited for a better place since we were early. Her comment, "Well we have a lot of reservations tonight." I reminded her that we were one of them. Thankfully our server was a dear but Chophouse, get rid of that table. $200 dinner looking into the kitchen, really?
It being restaurant week in Suffolk, poor River Stone was experiencing the restaurant equivalent to a week of Mothers' Days; lots of folks trying to check the box of dining in a high end restaurant at bargain rates. Still, the quality came through, the service way better than the crowd could have given them an excuse for slipping on and the general atmosphere underscored why they are a top shelf choice. I normally don't go to what I call expense account restaurants unless I'm the one on an expense account. With major defense contractors having large local facilities within walking distance, making River Stone very much one of those establishments, I expected more show than go but I was wrong. Their culinary, beverage, and hospitality prowess were all first rate and have won this urban-centric foodie over to visiting them at least quarterly.
This was restaurant week and we went back for the Delmonico steak that we had last time and was really excellent. Not so much this time. Thin piece of meat, somewhat overcooked, lacking in flavor. All else typical top notch but a touch pricey
Our server was regrettably unqualified for a busy night. We were poorly served while repeatedly waiting for water, no bread was served, our entrees were incorrect and two of our 6 member party were forced to take our desserts home because they were not served. The manager, while apologetic, offered little resolution. I and others in my party will not return.
We ordered from the restaurant week menu. Everything was amazing! Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. We highly recommend this establishment!
We made reservations online and they were ready for us upon arrival but said we had requested a booth at the bar which was totally incorrect. Not sure where that information came from. Instead we were seated in a booth in the main dining room. Rachel was our server and made fabulous recommendations and was very attentive. When we didn't see her and needed something, the other servers were most accommodating. The food was delicious, our only concern was the steak served was not even warm, although the sides was scorching hot. We did not make any comments about the steak because we didn't want it brought back overcooked. The flavor was still good.
My wife and i had a pleasant evening at your restaurant, our server was outstanding as well as the food. This is our 5th time we spend our anniversary there and it will not be the last. Very polite and courteous is all personnel at your restaurant as well as amazing food every time we attend.
Combined: the food, service and price disnt make the list od places I would go again or recommend.
It was our first time at the restaurant and we decided to celebrate Father’s Day with my husband here. We did not know that it was Sunday Brunch only. No one explained to us how things worked and that they were not serving full menu. When we asked the initial waitress about the menu, she told us that we had no choice but to eat from the buffet or WE COULD GO HOME. We were not sure if she was joking or not but it was in poor taste. I apologized to my husband because apparently we picked the wrong place to e
celebrate Father’s Day. We decided to stay and then had a very nice gentleman waiter who saved our experience. If it were not for the gentleman waiter, we may not try this place again.
Father’s day brunch. Seem to run out of food had to wait for prime rib. The food was cold. The food was not that good the buffet was not appealing. The guy doing omelettes seem stressed. They need to visit Schelzingers in Newport News and take a look at their buffet. The set up at Schelzinger‘s makes you think you are eating at a five star restaurant. The food is awesome. This food lacked flavor and for $29 a person could have had more choices. Schelzingers‘s has an actual dessert bar with the fountain and the food is amazing. Opus nineIn Williamsburg Virginia also will put this buffet to shame. I have heard so much about this restaurant and thought that it was more upscale. Don’t think we will return for dinner
I think the Fathers Day Brunch was a little more than they expected. There was also issues with short staff which caused a delay in replenishing the food and wait times. I think my expectations were higher, only because of word of mouth of those who's gone for dinner before. I did recommemnd the restaurant however only because of the customer service.
Highly recommended by numerous friends so we decided to give it a try. We were thoroughly please with the whole experience. The steaks were very tender and superbly seasoned. The side dishes were extremely flavorful. The waiter saw to our every need. The only downside was the noise level grew louder the longer we were there. The ambiance began to suffer. However, as a whole it was very enjoyable.
Best steak in 757. Food was truly special with great fresh flavors. Menu left enough choices without being overwhelming and the restaurant itself was interesting. Desserts were incredible. The two things that left much to be desired was the service and the espresso. Espresso was awful. Service was ok at best, but far from what you’d expect from a restaurant of this quality. It didn’t seem like others had the same issue with service, so I truly believe it was our waitress in particular.
I was not satisfied at all with the brunch, but that won’t stop me from returning to try the menu items as I have heard the menu items were a lot better, but the brunch food was awful! Also, too many knats flying around!
Excellent steaks, priced accordingly. Superb service by Kim. Great selections of wine, from reasonable price to high. Several large groups added to ambient noise. Have been several times before and will go again
The service and the food was excellent. We have always wanted to try the chophouse and it was worth the wait. We will be coming back!
Absolutely wonderful experience! A nice quiet date night with amazing food, ambiance and service!
Warm deviled crab dip made the dinner. It was great.
You need to check definition of colossal! I ordered the colossal shrimp platter. Surprised to receive only 6 shrimp on this “colossal” platter. What a joke. The shrimp were 16/20 which is not worth $32. $5 a shrimp. Really?
My husband ordered the 18oz ribeye medium. It was served medium rare with the bone in it. Wasn’t worth $41 either.
This was our special dinner for our 25th anniversary. Very disappointed in food. Will not be back and will not recommend.
I loved the food and the service. Everyone was friendly and on top of things. The food was better than I expected and I went in with high hopes! The atmosphere was more laid back than I expected. Not all patrons were dressed as requested but that didnt make us bat an eye. The only thing I would have liked to have differently for it to be more romantic. It did not have that feel when we were in there on a Saturday night. The service and food were why we will wanted to try the restaurant. They did not disappoint!!
We celebrated my mother’s 70th birthday at River Stone, and wow, what a great choice. We had an outstanding experience from the time we entered the restaurant. The host, bar staff, and our server were tops!
They all contributed to a phenomenal evening for my mom, and I really appreciate it. Great food, great service, we loved our time at River Stone!!
We were a party of four and ordered steak, pork chop, lamb and meatloaf. All were excellent portion sizes and prepared perfectly. The only negative was that men could not wear hats in the dinning room. Due to this rule we will never eat in the dinning room again.
Not sure If I'd recommend yet. I must return and order something else. I was not pleased with the way my steak was prepared. I've ordered medium well other places and it was not charred. The meat had no flavor at all--for the price no matter what degree of doneness you desire, your steak should be mouth-watering with flavor.
The service and ambience made the meal pleasurable.
I made reservations online for a Sunday. It is not clear online that Sunday is "Brunch buffet" only. If I had been aware I would have went another day. The price for the "Brunch buffet" in my opinion far exceeded the buffet menu. However the quality of the food was good.
Took wife for belated mothers day brunch she enjoyed and don and his girlfriend Lso wnjoyed
Takes a while for food to come is the only negative
Food was amazing! we will be back. I would highly recommend the lamb chops best I ever tasted!
Our overall experience was fine, however there were a few details that were missing. The restaurant was fairly busy for a Tuesday evening resulting in the servers being extremely busy and not as attentive as they might otherwise be. It took quite a while to place our order and our server had to be reminded to refill our water and iced tea.
We were celebrating a birthday which was included in our reservation, unfortunately that was only recognized by the host as an afterthought.
