    Convenient place to grab a bite to eat after a day on the slopes. Friendly service and good food, a little rowdy but it was New Years Eve.

    We arrived and were sat outside, then ignored for 20 minutes. Server came to check on neighboring table, but no one acknowledged our presence after being sat. It was not anywhere near busy enough to warrant this. Maybe a total of 10 tables were filled in the whole place. We got up and left.

    Unfortunately this resort could have so much more potential than it does. It is so tired and rundown. It needs help! Most of the staff that we encountered was ambivalent and apathetic. There are four people that I can point out at during our stay that were phenomenal and three of them were at the front desk (Alysha, Emily and fabulous Winnie) and one was the shuttle driver (Doug) who went out of his way to help us. Everyone else couldn’t care less-especially the bartender at the Lakeview. In my opinion, the culture of helping wasn't instilled in the collective team. And the room(s) were awful. The reason I refer to "rooms" is that the room we thought we booked at the Summit, we did not get...I requested during reservation which I actually did over the phone and not on line...a higher floor and view of the water...and I then called the day before arrival to ensure that we were getting what I reserved. I was assured that we would be getting what we wanted...I also requested an early check in...None of this happened...After arriving at 3:30pm and watched family after family check in before us, we were finally checked in at 5:20pm...we were "banished to the basement"at the Summit with a view of cement and the room smelled of smoke. When I tearfully complained to wonderful Winnie about our situation, she set us up with a room at Cedar Village...which was more expensive as it was a suite but she didn't charge us the difference. Well, this room was in need of a little TLC as well...the mattresses need replacing and the the balcony was run over with spider webs. I don’t want to be this critical, but criticism needs to be had at this level at this resort. We were so looking forward to this vacation and quite frankly, this wasn't what we envisioned.

    Great food! No wait with reservation. Staff great & attentive. Cost moderate but quality was worth it. Only complaint is that table wobbled & seated by large made it cool on a cold wintery evening but overall good!

    We went to the River Bistro for date night on a Friday night during the annual truck climb. The food was great, and the waitstaff were very attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!

    Based on the initial pictures and description I wasn't expecting this to be inside a ski resort. It wasn't a problem, just unexpected. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special. If you are on vacation looking for good food to try in the area, there may be better places available. The staff was extremely friendly though and made the overall experience very enjoyable.

    The wait staff was outstanding! Cordial, smart, helpful young people. The food is hit or miss. I ordered the Southwest Stir Fry, and was looking forward to a heap of vegetables (it says on the menu: squash, zucchini, onions, pepper, carrots) and it came with a measly portion of zucchini and yellow squash buried under a mound of what tasted like store bought wild rice mix (Zatarain), heavy with cheese. The Truffle Fries, however, are indulgent and wonderful. The best fries I ave ever eaten on any continent! The Apple Spice Cake was just OK. It consisted of what tasted like a store bought pound cake (rather than something fresh baked on premises, which would have been excellent) with a good apple sauce and ice cream. My husband was happy with his meal, the Steak Sandwich and an order of the specialty cole slaw. It is a convenient place with beautiful urban ambience indoors, and the patio has great views of the Cedar Village hills and forests.

    We spent a wonderful weekend at Schuss Mountain as a family (2 adults and 3 boys) and the River Bistro was perfect for a casual, after-skiing hang out and dinner. The Food was great and the service were terrific. The drinks at the bar were great and our waitress was very helpful (thanks, Billie Jo). We also ate breakfast here both days, which was buffet style, and the food was great and a great, quick way to have a breakfast before skiing. Thanks all!
