Home of the Wet Woody ® and storybook sunsets, Riva Grill is Tahoe South’s premier lake front restaurant located in the Ski Run Marina. The 3,000 square foot deck overlooking Lake Tahoe comfortably seats 200 guests and is a dining experience that is second to none. Floor to ceiling windows in the two-story restaurant provide an equally epic view of the Sierras and Lake. Since 1998, visitors and locals alike have flocked to Riva for the best food and service in town. Try the bacon-wrapped filet and scampi with Point Reyes Bleu Cheese butter, the renown grilled or blackened fish tacos with apple-jicama slaw and micro cilantro or any of their home made wood fired pizzas, to name just a few.     View was amazing. Food was great and the server did a great job. Overall we were very satisfied. The check in desk was a bit confusing, we came 15 minutes before our reservation, they said they will text us, but never did, so we had to go again to check in.

    We had a great evening, our server Greg, I hope I'm correct, I sometimes have a problem remembering. He did introduce himself. He was very helpful, recommendeding menu items. Very polite, pleasant to talk to.

    Been here several times and hopefully this was a one time poor experience. Started off not good as it took 10 minutes to be greeted. We ordered drinks and appetizers to start , our appetizers came out at a reasonable time but we had to wait for our drinks after we finished our appetizers. We ordered our meals and waited again, our food took over a half hour which would not be a big deal except it was a salad and a hot dish but the hot dish came out at best warm. Totally disappointing experience from start to finish, we even had to wait to pay our check. We never had this type of experience previously,only time we saw manager we think was to light the heaters.

    Lovely evening out on the patio, enjoyed the lake view. I really liked the lobster and shrimp bisque as an appetizer. My friend and I had the scallops, which were delicious. Husband had the filet, and other friend had the chicken — which was a huge portion. Overall I liked it very much and would like to go back and try lunch there.

    Food was good but not for the price. Service and drinks were wonderful! Beautiful spot and they had outside heater as an option. I sat on the first floor outside and noticed that the balcony had gaps that allowed the dirt on peoples shoes to fall beneath. Thank goodness nobody spilled a drink up there.

    Nice outside dining. Expect some pretty high prices. Wine markup was huge. Food was excellent and portions generous. Waitstaff was attentive without being bothersome Request an outside table by the glass/closest to the lake.

    I'm not impressed with their food. I ordered fish and chips. The fish taste like frozen food. My wife ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wrap and their serving size is not very generous.

    Very cool restaurant. Nice location, overlooking the lake. The waitstaff was professional and courteous. We got a trainer / trainee combination. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. My food was barely warm when it arrived, but the server took it back and I received a new entrée at the proper temperature. My entrée was stricken from the ticket and we were provided with desserts at no charge because of the wait. There was an issue, but they made it right.

    We drove up from the bay area and went to Riva grill. Sarah, are you food server, it was very sweet and on top of everything! The outdoor seating was beautiful, and the fish tacos were super good!

    The welcome and table preference were wonderful. The menu would please most palates and our waiter was charming. He recommended my main course, Conchiglie, chicken, artichokes, panchetta, pasta in a smoked gouda cream, thick and very rich cream which did not need any extra added. My friends had the lobster bisque for an opener. Our waiter told me he added extra sauce to mine! It was enough to serve 2-3 people. So was the bisque. We all walked away with bloated bellies, no room for dessert and lots of leftovers. The food was delicious and here’s my advice: order one entree per 2 people, split appetizers and try to save a bit of room for dessert. The food is very rich and portions are more than ample.

    Riva Grill has an outstanding location with an amazing view. On this occasion, the service and food quality didn't match that view. We had to wait a while, even though we had a reservation and there were many open tables where we were eventually seated. The food quality was disappointing (prime rib) but at least the portions were large. I will go back but will reduce my expectations.

    Soggy and inconsistently dressed salad, undercooked steak. The onion soup and crab cakes was the only redeemer. The drinks were watered down and they served margaritas in a pint glass. We were surrounded by 3-5 bachelorette/bachelor parties and it was very awkward.
