Not much to say, the 5 stars pretty much say it all. The food is unbeatable, the atmosphere feels like family and the scenery feels like home.
it doesn't get any better than saraceno's. fine food, great service, wonderful place to have a nice dinner without the rush of the chain restaurants.
Great restaurant! Great service and had such a wonderful birthday dinner!
Downstairs dining ambiance is incredibly cozy and intimate (we dined with two kids and it was still a great area of the restaurant to dine - preferred to upstairs which is associated with more entry and bathroom traffic). Good portions sizes, friendly waitstaff.
Excellent service. The food was delicious. Would recommend this restaurant to all our friends and to anyone who loves fantastic Italian food.
The best night out this trip. Incredible food, very intimate ambiance. We will be back!
The food was great service was good drinks were good. The only complaint we had was the antipasto was terrible there was nothing in it. If you are going to charge 17 dollars for an antipasto that is small you have to put some meat in it. We should of sent it back . Other than that I would go back.
We took our family to have Italian food here. We usually come here every time we are in Boston!
Ristorante Saraceno is old school Italian American, and they do it well. It had been many years since I'd been there. It was exactly as I remembered. Much of the North End tries to hard and feels like a rip off. At Sarceno you get exactly what you expect. Healthy portions on Neapolitan cuisine and good friendly service are staples. Recommended.
Awesome dinner. Was given 2 desserts to celebrate a birthday and engagement. Also was given a round of lemon cello! Felt very Covid safe as we had our own little room. Thanks for a great evening
Best Italian food in town! The place feels small and intimate but actually is huge.
Excellent Christmas Eve dinner with family.
Although small, the feeling inside felt intimate. The owner Frank greeted us a sat us immediately. Our server Jose was spot on and extremely pleasant and welcoming. We ordered an antipasto salad for 4 and it was perfecto! Our meals were all delicious. Frank came over and talked to us for a while and made us feel really welcome at home!
Look forward to going again in the future!
Enjoyed a holiday lunch at Ristorante Saraceno with 6 colleagues. Food was delicious and the service was great. At the end of our meal we were each given a lemoncello. Overall it was a wonderful experience and everyone was in a festive mood - we will definitely be back!
the owner, Frank, makes you feel as if you are a guest at his home. Very comfortable and incredible food.
Made a reservation and it was not upheld. Waited outside for an additional 45 minutes. Other parties of the same size were seated before only because they pushed their way into the restaurant ahead of those that were waiting. There is no system for taking names either for waiting. From what was observed larger parties that made their presence extremely clear were seated before those who had waited longer times.
Once we were finally seated the service was a bit slow, might have been a busier night so not entirely upset about that. The table we were sat at was in the basement area next to a shelf. The shelf had what looked like mice droppings on it and when we had asked about this our waiter only brushed it away, we had at least hoped they would use a wet wipe or equivalent to clean the area.
The food and meal were good but nothing that gave me a wow factor. The food is a bit overpriced, but I understand most restaurants in the north end can suffer from this.
Overall with the wait and what we found when we were finally seated we will not be dining here again. Was looking forward to trying the location but not worth the trouble.
The food as always was outstanding. Seating was tight quarters. We had asked for a table on the street level as we had someone with a walking handicap with us, but after calling ahead to request Saraceno was not able to accommodate. Would still go back.
The hostess did not acknowledge our reservation and was so rude. After 30 minutes of waiting we left.
Great food at reasonable prices. Authentic Italian cuisine.
Cecelia is a wonderful hostess! Food was amazing as was our server Selvan.
Service was horrible. It was a busy Saturday night but we had no dedicated server and it took almost an hour and a half to get someone to take our dinner order. That's ridiculous. The food was good when we finally got it.
Had a reservation and still had to wait an hour for the tables. Good was pretty mediocre
I absolutely adore this restaurant, the only thing that I can say negatively is that the last 2 times that I've eaten there, they have sat us right in front of the door. In the summer it was ok, but this weekend, it was freezing! I should have said something so that's on me! The service is impeccable, old school wait staff and the food is out of this world.. there are so many choices in the North End, but I keep coming back!!
The food was excellent. On a Friday night, the service was pretty good. This restaurant has a small downstairs room which is very quaint and looks like a wine cellar but felt a little claustrophobic in Covid times. It also was very loud for people who have difficulties hearing.
Great food and great service! We were going to a show - our food came out quickly and was delicious.
Unfortunately the restaurant had overbooked with reservations and was not organized by using a list. Whom ever had the loudest voice got in first. After waiting 45 minutes after our reservation we decided to leave as they were not able to pinpoint a time we’d be seated. On the positive folks that left said the food was good.
The service was terrible. We waited over 1.5 hours for our food. The meal was okay; nothing too exciting or delicious. Very disappointing.
Charming, great food, fun ambience. Highly recommended.
Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. I would definitely go back.
A quintessential North End experience. Dependable menu with generous portions. Professional and efficient wait service. Front of the house makes you feel welcome and special. The interior is tight and dated, but somehow adds to the charming experience.
friendly, neighborhood cafe, owner or manager was hands on and in the dining room a lot - wonderful meal and nice bottle of wine - house - well priced
Don’t bother making a reservation, they may or may not honor it. Very disappointing. Many people waiting in a line outside with reservations and they take who you know over honoring reservations.
This restaurant took far too many reservations then they could accommodate. Their reservation system is haphazard at best. If somebody approach the door to open it to walk into advised that they were there for their reservation, the hostess basically shove them back out the door and situate on the sidewalk. When we offered to give our name for the reservation, she didn’t care! Approximately 20 minutes after our reservation time, we were led down into the basement level, through a dining room, and to a table that could only be accessed by inconveniencing another patron. The whole basement dining area is a fire hazard, and the ceilings are about 6 feet high! I definitely would not recommend a visit to this place
Our waiter Jose was great. Had a really noisy disrespectful group next to us and Jose was sweet enough to offer to move us to a table downstairs. Food was great and downstairs ambiance is adorable. If it wasn’t for Jose we otherwise would have got the check after our drinks and left, glad he stepped in and saved our dinner.
Food and ambiance was wonderful. The only ding is due to the fact that reservations taken were not used. There is no hostess with the reservation list, just someone out front asking how many… so be prepared to wait for your table - if you can wait it out, the food and service is great.
Reservations were not a problem - restaurant was half empty on a Friday evening in the North End. The flavors were good. The antipasto was small. House wine was fine. The patron was less than friendly.
Ristorante Saraceno was recommended to us from a friend in NJ and it did nothing disappoint! I was a little nervous when I saw the size of the restaurant not realizing it had a downstairs. We will definitely return the next time we’re in the area.
Ristorante Saraceno is definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Boston! We especially loved their seafood dishes!
Great for families and special occasions and just regular dates!
The owner, Frank, treated us like family
