Enjoyed the entire experience here. The food was as described. Classic Italian dishes. A quiet atmosphere inside, in stark contrast to the bustle outside in the North End. Friendly staff.
If you’re driving, they do validate for self-parking for the Haymarket Garage Parcel 7, which is about 3 blocks away. Otherwise you can pay for valet ($25) right in front of the restaurant.
The food was delicious!!! The ambiance was nice. When I’m back in Boston I will be eating there again!!
Food was exceptional. Great wine list and waiter helps match wine to your meal choice. Authentic Italian. Warm and welcoming.
Food was great - it was VERY busy Saturday night and we had a reservation. Had to remind them a few times and push for a table but it was worth it.
It’s a tourist trap. Food was average, venue was crazy crowded, but service was good. There are better dining options than this in Boston.
Good variety of Italian specialties. Enjoyed the veal francese and was allowed some substitutions in a pasta dish. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Steep stairway if you eat upstairs!
Great food and service. Can’t wait to go back and try something different.
We wanted an authentic North End eatery that would work for two families with teens and tweens after a long day on the Freedom Trail. Saraceno, and especially our server, Sergio, did not disappoint. It was a perfect atmosphere for our group and kind of fun to be seated downstairs past the wine cellar. The dishes were delicious, with enough variety to please everyone in the group and reasonable prices. Super find thanks to OpenTable.
Food was okay, service as good as McDonald’s. Won’t be back as I was not that impressed and so many other good places in the north end to go to
Super crowded and loud. Gave us a seat in the Basement next to two big groups having celebratory dinners (bachelor and bachelorette parties). We asked if we might sit upstairs and that we were willing to wait, and they were very rude. We left and didn’t eat. Will not be going back or recommending to any friends or colleagues. Ended up going to nice Italian restaurant on Newbury street.
Food and service was amazing! Staff was great and super helpful!! Food was very delicious and well priced. Would go back again in a heart beat!!
We were celebrating a friends birthday.. The food was Great as well as the service!!
We had a great time. food was great. However...we had a 6:45 reservation and did not get seated until 7:30 and we could not get an explanation or estimate of how long it would be. Once seated, everything was great.
We had pretty high expectations and the meal was quite good. In the north end it represented Italian well. What was problematic was the very low light level, forcing use for the first time by me of a flashlight via my cell phone.
I think it is really nice and rated well. Our service was new to working tables and she really tried and just needs some more experience.
Food was tasty, however one of the meals served was a bit cold.
We were seated as soon as our party arrived.
Good food and wine choices on menu.
I had the seafood linguine and there was a lot of seafood.
Pasta was excellent.
Had a great experience here. Was running late, called and they moved our reservation up 1/2 hour on a Friday night. Our waiter, Sergio, was excellent, and all of our meals were delicious and reasonably priced.
Excellent service. Lovely ambiance. My second time there this month and will go again. Pasta Puttanesca was deeply flavorful, our mussels were served in a perfect broth- rich with wine and butter and garlic. Very authentic place.
Being downstairs on a week night made for a quiet dining experience which was refreshing for the North End. Highly recommend linguini vongole with the white sauce (make sure you have extra bread don’t waste the sauce!) The veal Parm was amazing as well.
This was my first time at Saraceno's, and I was generally pleased. My friend and I shared tasty sauteed clams and mussels for an appetizer and then had fettuccine bolognese and linguini vongole ( clams ) respectively. Food was very good, portions were ample, but the service was just fair. I had to ask for water refills on couple of occasions, and our waiter left for the day without anyone paying attention to us after that. It is a great location, and ovreall I would recommend it.
We had a fantastic experience at Ristorante Saraceno--excellent food, great service, wonderful ambiance! Highly recommend this North End gem!
Food was outstanding but we had a reservation for 7:15 and got seated at 8. They seated all walk ins before us, never asked a name for reservation and did nothing until I got upset and called them out. If you make a reservation, don’t expect them to honor it. For me the overall rating was 3 because of the lack of honoring a reservation. Food was awesome but if you are going to accept reservations, then honor them!!!
Reservations were for Saturday night at 7 for 7 people. Little Italy was packed so thankfully they had our table ready and were seated immediately. We were seated on the second floor and it was very loud. A lot of parties for birthdays. Service was not great. Food was very good. I have celiac and they have no gluten free menu but they are able to adapt many of the recipes to be gluten free. I had the chicken marsala and it was delicious! Everyone else at the table was very pleased with their food.
This is not a Resturant I would recommend. The food was mediocre at best service was slow had to wait a long time to receive our check. There are way better Resturant s in the North End
Completely authentic, charming, and special experience. Food was superb. Great value for a wonderful meal.
Excellent in every way! Seated ahead of time because our party was there early! Sergio provided excellent service for 8 ladies celebrating their birthdays ! Excellent food.....sea bass prepared to perfection, eggplant Parmesan seasoned just right, lasagna ... the best!!! Followed by the best tiramisu in town! Top choice in Boston !!!
Service was good but food was just ok. Lots of better options in the north end.
We love this restaurant - everything is fresh, seafood, pasta, chicken and veal are all outstanding!
The service was great and this place is just plain fun!
Everything was delicious. Nice menu. Definitely a return visit to try something else.
This is our second time at Saraceno. The food and service was every bit as great on this visit, as our first visit about a year ago.
Best Italian I’ve ever had. By far. Frank treated my wife and I like family and couldn’t have had a better experience.
Your place was recommended by a family member! Your food, service, and restaurant went above and beyond my expectations!
Food was average and service was fine. Typical north end restaurant.
Food was incredible and the service was outstanding. The walk to the basement was a little different, but once we got to our table it was great. Felt like I was visiting family in Italy for dinner. Celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary and will be back for more!
Not bad. Lasagna was a bit tough on a few bites. Sauce was great. Great waiter, good service. Timely.
This restaurant looks small. However, they have tables in the larger basement. We were seated at the table surrounded by wines. The food and service are good. We wished the pasta more al dente.
The food was absolutely amazing! We went in a group of 7 and everyone devoured and loved the food. They were also super nice when we called and said there was bad traffic and were very accommodating. While they couldn't separate the checks, they were nice about letting us know so we could venmo and put it on one card to pay. Also super attentive with refilling water and bread. The waiter was also nice and recommending certain dishes. It had a very inviting decor and makes for a great place to go for a special occasion. Loved that they had nice table clothes!
Second time here. Service continues to be 5 Star. Staff is caring and attentive. Everything tastes good. Wish they carried some good bourbon... but the wine selection is great!
Food was amazing. It’s very small and quaint, one dining room but a nice ambiance and beautiful ceiling painting, plus it’s quiet. The service was good. Our own complaint was it was a cool September night and they had the windows and doors wide open and only closed them after we asked so it took a while for the room to warm up.
Right when we walked in, things were a little odd. The restaurant is three floors but when you walk in on the first floor, there isn’t a host to greet you or anyone directing you where to go. My group just wandered up the stairs where we ran into a busser who ended up seating us after we asked where we should go for a reservation. I immediately noticed that there wasn’t any music playing or background sound so the whole place was awkwardly quiet. It made the whole meal uncomfortable as all the tables were so close together- that combined with the lack of music everyone could hear each other. The food here was good but compared to other restaurants in the area, portion sizes were small but priced the same. I would recommend the pasta with clam sauce as well as the piccata if you have to end up at this restaurant
The service was TERRIBLE! I thought my group of four hit it off with our waitress at first and she seemed as though she’d be attentive to us since there were only a few other parties on our floor. I was wrong. We ordered our food right as she brought everyone drinks but four tables who sat down after we ordered our food received theirs before us. Working as a waitress in the past, I know food delays aren’t typically a servers fault but what happened next leads me to believe she just forgot to put in our order. She came by to refill waters and having been gone so long, we also finished our wine and ordered a second bottle with her. 15 more minutes passed without food or the wine so I got up to investigate. I found her standing by the kitchen just chatting with other wait staff. When I inquired about the wine she got snappy with me asking if I really ordered the wine with her. YES OF COURSE ARE YOU KIDDING ME. When we finally got our food an hour after ordering then eventually the bill, she did apologize for the inconvenience and took one $8 drinks off the bill as if that was doing us a favor.
A bad experience overall that seemed to drag on for far too long.
