First time to this particular restaurant in north end and will not be back. Too many other much better options. Food was below standards. Chicken piccata and Marsala meals had 2 small pieces of chicken and No pasta sides for $23 dollars. Very disappointing and small dishes & we needed to eat a second dinner after we left the restaurant. Skip this one……too many other options in north end.
It was a nice night out. Food was very good, the veal saltimboca was delicious!
Our experience at Ristorante Saraceno was not a good one. The main reason is the value and service. We were greeted upon arrival and seated. Took a long time for the waitress to recognize us and take drink order. We had the Fried Calamari for app and we both ordered the Shrimp and Scallop With Linguini "Special". Lesson learned, always ask for the price of the Special. Let's start with the Calamari. For nearly $20 we were served a small portion of less than mediocre Calamari. Horrible value, sub-par quality. Traditional Frutti de Mare was on the menu for $30 but we didn't want the muscles and calamari that comes with the traditional dish so we ordered the Shrimp and Scallop With Linguini "Special". For $45 for this dish we were served over-cooked shrimp, over-cooked scallops with a small portion of linguini. In addition the side-muscle (the tough part) on the scallops was never removed. IMO this is unacceptable for a restaurant to serve scallops without removing the side muscle. Overall sub-par service, sub-par food, horrible value. Will never visit this restaurant again. Avoid, avoid, avoid this over-priced tourist trap.
We had a wonderful time celebrating a graduation at Ristorante Saraceno. We have come here in the past and it is our favorite restaurant in the North End. The service was perfect and the food was absolutely delicious, as always. We will be back soon!
My food was way over cooked both my shrimp and calamari was terrible.
My wife’s meal also was not very good.
Fantastic food. Friendly service. Great wine. Best in The North End for Italian food!
Excellent food and staff.
We were celebrating Mother’s Day. My mom ordered a boiled lobster because it was on their main menu, when they brought the plate it was only 2 small lobster tails. We told the waitress that on the menu it’s said boiled lobster that we were expecting a whole lobster and she said that they’re not in season right now so that’s why they didn’t have the whole lobster. So it was false advertising because if you’re just serving lobster tail than on the menu it should say boiled lobster tail.
Everything was fantastic!
It was the perfect place to hold a graduation dinner. Staff was attentive and friendly, food was excellent. We sat in the cellar/grotto. Such fun!
We were taken to a back basement room with low ceilings and the tables right next to each other without any partitions or COVID protocols in sight. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. A loud table of about 14 got seated near us and we weren't able to hear each other or get any server's attention. The big table got their food before our app came. We canceled our food and left the restaurant as fast as we could. It was uncomfortable being so close to people while we're still in the midst of a pandemic, and not being able to talk to each other due to how loud it was and how close others were to us.
Best restaurant in the North End! We have tried many, if not all on Hanover Street and keep coming back! Frank and his team have never failed to give us their best. This time we celebrated a birthday and the mood, service, ambience and food was fantastic! Thanks again!
Excellent dinner out. Can't wait to return!
Instead of any of the available outdoor tables, we were sat in a cramped upstairs room with strangers breathing down our necks. In a pandemic.
The food was outstanding. Meals were priced reasonably. Staff were friendly. We sat outside which was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant when in Boston in the North End.
Our favorite restaurant in the North End!!
For a major silver (25th) anniversary, we returned to Saraccino’s with the request and info that we had celebrated our first anniversary there - no response at all. No acknowledgement - nothing. We were stuck downstairs with a packed rooms
No tables were NOT even close to being six feet apart. Sooooooooooo disappointed. Never ever ever going back. Thanks for the disappointment when I specifically asked for help to make this occasion special. Tried calling and no one answered. My daughter tried to have a bottle of wine and dessert delivered to the table the day before and the day of and no one understood what she was asking
Was able to get reservation on a very busy weekend. Not your most friendly greeter but did get us a nice table. Always have an issue when your not asked how everything came out or during the meal how is everything. We did get asked how was everything after we were done.
Social distancing did not seem to be followed and neither did the capacity limits.
It’s a great spot. I frequent it a lot for all kinds of occasions. Fantastic food! Only thing is covid wise make sure your comfortable being in a basement.
Dishes were hot and services was good. Will come back
We had a very exceptional Easter dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. Thank you for such a nice experience.
Was honestly very disappointed. I’m not one to complain on a review but tables were not properly spaced for covid and my portion of chicken parm was $22 for a very thin chicken cutlet and maybe 50¢ worth of pasta along with it. Many other places charge the same price for portions you can’t finish. My whole table finished their meals quickly and spent more time waiting for the check than we did waiting for our meal to come out.
This was the first time I ate at Ristorante Saraceno. I try to go to a different restaurant every time I eat in the North End. Both the food and service were good. However, the noise level in the restaurant was deafening. If you are looking for a romantic dinner, this is not the place for you. We were seated downstairs and it was very crowded. I thought there was still supposed to be some social distancing but it didn't seem like there was downstairs. We left just as a party of 8 was being seated near us. It was so noisy before I can't imagine what it was like after that party was seated. There are so many restaurants to chose from in the North End. I would chose a different restaurant the next time.
Eduardo was great!! And the food/restaurant never disappoint!!
Awesome restaurant with outstanding food! One of the friendliest establishments in recent memory, with excellent service. Not a single complaint!
Just friends meeting up
Loved this place so much!! Yummy food, great and friendly service, and so cute on the inside!
nice restaurant with nice atmosphere. however th dinner portions were very small for the price they charge. very noisy. hard to hear ourselves talk
The food was delicious, and the portions were pretty big. Great drinks as well!
Great place, Cant wait to come back for outdoor seating and enjoy a nice summer night. Very good drinks and Very good fresh food.
Awesome date night.
Nice intimate setting, service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. Highly reccomend!
Think of the general visual aesthetic of The Godfather.
No social distancinf at all
There was absolutely no social distancing. NONE! The food was good, but not worth the risk. Staff were not properly wearing masks either.
Great place! I felt like I was actually eating at a restaurant where people enjoyed each others company all around.
The food was great, ambiance was great and the owner was VERY attentive and caring with what food left the kitchen.
I recently recommended you guys to friends of mine who may be stopping by this weekend so I’m sure they’d enjoy it just as much.
Very Italian!!! The whole experience was like stepping into Naples & being welcomed into the family! Great Alfredo!
Great old school Italian food. Frank is extremely welcoming and is eager to accommodate special requests. Really enjoyed the meal, have been there numerous times and we will definitely be back.
