Everything was wonderful. The hostess went out of her way to be helpful. Loved it!

I eat here often - it is one of my favorite restaurants and I like to take people here to eat.

We ordered soft shell crab appetizer, spicy salmon roll, sashimi set lunch and chicken katsu benton box. Consider the location of the restaurant, in NE Houston, food were above average except the spicy salmon roll where the rice was hard and cold, not chewy or room temperature. Sashimi cuts were on the smaller end. Our waiter was nice and atmosphere was ok. I will come back for HH since this is the only Japanese restaurant 5 minutes away from work.

The restaurant was definitely surprising. Being at the corner of a shopping center I didn't think much of it but the restaurant was delicious and they have a good wine selection. I wanted the spiciest dish they had and it did not disappoint.

I never write reviews. . .like never but I had to for this place. Really good experience all around; well I was with a foxy lady so I was starting off good but thats neither here nor there. :) I've never been to this place before neither the person i was with so we went blindly (blind dining. . .I like that idea) and it was a really good pick. We had everything from an appetizer to a dessert and everything was great. Ordered about three rolls and two rounds of sake. I can't find one thing bad to say. . . .not a one. There was a party of about eight next to us and they ordered a sushi boat. . .OMGurd. . . deliciousness personified. They almost got a surprise guest at their table. Service was fast and accurate. The waitress was uber informative and fun, people skills for days, she made sure we had a good time. The ultra magnificent best part was the surprise in house singer. YES! A singer at a sushi bar. This guy was good. His sound is reminiscent of Mandy Patinkin but better. He takes request as well. I know I will be back.

I spoke with the Manager in person the night before my wedding after having an online reservation and the day of the lunch I arrived 5 mins late and they had already given our tables to other people, they said they got busy and they had to do it. So yeah if you want someone reliable to hold your table for an important event.... Don't go to Rising Sushi !

Food was good. Drinks were great. Service was bad. It was slow and we had maybe a 2 hours visit because our waiter never asked us how things were if we were ready or when to bring the check, took too long getting our change back. Etc.

We went here for the first time, and it will most likely be our last. The first problem was, there were about ten tables in use, and ours was the only table that didn't have a screaming child sitting at it. So it was loud. I did like the live music, though.

Ordered the shrimp bento box. Shrimp were hard, tempura was tasteless and soggy, wontons not cooked all the way through. The fried rice was very good. I tried a bite of my husband's steak and spit it out, as it felt like it had already been chewed by someone else.

The wait staff were good, and the bar looked like it was lively, but I wouldn't come here for food again.

Sushi average. Tempura undercooked. Out of sparkling wine we ordered - substituted with sweet, low-end bottle capped wine. Ugh! Very loud and crowded. Entertainment mediocre.

We go here a lot, and we usually split a couple special rolls and a regular roll. However, my husband was curious about the Kobe Beef Burger. The price of the meal was enticing, too, so he ordered it. I got my usual Skinny Girl roll and California Roll B, which were great as usual. The Kobe burger was an all-around good burger. It was not greasy at all. It had the distinct flavor of Kobe Beef. He ordered it with sweet potato fries, which were cooked very well. If I could offer a suggestion, ask for spicy mayo instead of regular mayo for the burger.

PS - service was great, and we didn't have to wait to be seated with our reservation.

Love this place. Saturday nights have live music, great for a date night. We also love bringing our kiddos to experience some amazing sushi creations. Cocktails are supreme. Its just an overall great place with a great ambiance.

The food didn't seem very fresh. Poor cuts of fish and the sushi rice didn't taste fresh. I won't be returning.

The waitress had a horrible attitude the hostess and other waiter was nice. We had to ask to get refills for our water even though there was someone walking around with a pitcher filling up empty glasses. The food was some what cold when it arrived at the table. Probably won't go back anytime soon

We're regulars here but had not been in a couple months. We were surprised to see how happening they are now. We were glad to have made a reservation because there was a big line to be seated. We didn't have to wait. We tried the peanut butter role for the first time and really liked it. It's a good complement to the classic types such as Sunshine.
