Good food, great value!
Went for Brunch celebrating a friend's 70th Birthday. They were great about seating us before everyone got there as 1 needed to sit. Waiter was great lets us talk, but was there when needed. Would have loved to have a round table, but they do not have one that seats 10.
As always the food was great and the libations even better!
Everything was good. Making and changing reservations was especially easy. Prices are were a little high, but food was excellent. Good service too.
Nice lunch for four with a great view of Eagle Creek. Attentive staff. Food, including appetizers, was very good.
Moved to Eagle Creek a year and a half ago. Finally tried Rick's. We were completely delighted to finally find a restaurant with the quality for food and serve. There is nothing like this on the westside. As ex-northsiders, we wish there were more restaurants in this area.
The trout, calamari, catfish and drinks were delicious.
The food was excellent as normal and our waitress was top notch.
This is my favorite place to eat. Period. Many memories I have, even starting from childhood, have been created here. You couldn't ask for a better location if you're into a water setting. The food is consistently, like every single time, fantastic. I've had most everything on the menu that isn't new. The duck is my usual or the shrimp and sausage rustica is also great. Crab cakes are must. Do yourself a favor, GO
my only complaint is the oven was broken and no pizzas I always get pizza.
Our first time to Rick's in a long time, very good meal, attentive and upbeat staff. We were very happy with the experience.
Food and service was excellent! We had a special table outside, it was a pretty evening. Thank you Joni for making it a perfect evening!
First time there Saturday 4/14/18 I brought a friend there for his birthday neither one of us have ever been there. I made a reservation requesting to be seated by the window , which was granted the food was superb the drinks were great. The staff was great making sure all our needs were met. They came by the table several times to ask how we were doing, asked if we needed anything else. They were great very friendly atmosphere. We began a conversation with some other people. It was a great time a great evening. My friend was throughly impressed as he thinks Chicago has the best restaurants. He now wants to make your place one of his favorites 😊 and now this is the best. He tells everyone that will listen about his birthday dinner there. I believe he is now your spokesperson 😊 we will most definitely be back.
Our server was terrific! Very personable! Food was delicious and the view of the water was spectacular!
The grouper sandwich was delicious and the salmon salad was HUGE! Dessert was good, our server was very helpful and fun. All in all it was a great experience.
I’m completely disgusted with Rick’s. My wife and we’re regular patrons. On April 11, 2018 we were seated and was never served. We sat for 8mins and received no service, 5 servers walked past our table with zero greeting or service. A new party of 4 was seated 7mins after us and was served water immediately. This is unacceptable and we walked out and notified the hostesses about our experience. I will never support this place again. We then went to Hyde Park and had an amazing meal. The service and quality has diminished and I would recommend you choose wisely of where you invest your money for service.
Food was average
Key lime pie was not very good
Coy our waiter was excellent
We always enjoy our visits to Rick's Boatyard. The seafood is very good. Sunday brunch menu is delicious. Our waiter was very attentive without being annoying. Our lunch orders arrived very quickly!
Great food and great service. There were six in our party and we all enjoyed it!
Family was in town, large party, had a wonderful server and great food! Awesome first visit, we will be back!
We made a reservation for 6:30, yet still had to wait 15-20 minutes for our table. I appreciate the host who, literally, ran to an open booth in the bar area to get us a table. The server, Megan, was attentive and fast. However, the Greek salad was showing age and the lobster was terribly overcooked, had not been cleaned, and arrived at the table without the claws scored and with rubbery tailmeat.
This time the food was ordinary. Previous visits were much better. Disappointed as we had an out of town guest as well as a birthday.
Service was great! Enjoyed ourselves very much! Heart way to celebrate our friend's birthday !
Waiter was not very friendly and couldn’t hear him when I asked questions. Liked the entrees very much but ordered dessert and were very disappointed because we misunderstood what he said. Needs to be better at describing menu items. It was quiet and we enjoyed the view even with the overcast skies. We be back and try patio seating.
Rick's is my favorite restaurant. Great for celebrations or just a treat for lunch. Sunday Brunch is awesome! Highly recommend.
Always love the fresh seafood menu and the ambience at Rick’s. Food is prepared as ordered, and never disappoints. Steaks are outstanding as well. The view of Eagle Creek Resevoir is so beautiful, especially during Spring, Summer and Fall.
Fabulous midday Easter dinner with excellent food and great service! One of our regular places and always will be!
It was a pleasant visit and the food was good. We had a good seat viewing the reservoir. My only take away was that our waiter was not very attentive. We had to ask another waiter to bring the condiments to the table and he didn't check to see if we wanted drink refills. The other dissatisfying mishap was that the waiter from the table next to ours, dropped the dirty plates and spilled food on my Mom's dress and legs. The manager came over to our table to assist her with the cleaning expense information. I would recommend eating there, and I will come back again, however the service was not as good as I'd remembered it from previous visits!!
We LOVE Rick’s Boatyard on every level ! We even got married there in 2012....the first booking for the new upstairs room & it was still not totally completed. It was a fabulous day 😃
Great Easter dinner with family and friends! Look forward to nicer weather and outdoor dining!!!!
The food was not as good as it normally is. We had made a reservation for Easter and requested a window seat. After about a 20 min wait we asked why we had not been seated yet, while other large groups that came in after us had been seated. The hostess said it was Bc we had requested a window seat. She said she had a table if it didn’t have to be a window seat. I said that would be okay. We walked past an open table the size of our party, with a partial window view, but instead, we were taken to an extremely noisy table right by the kitchen. I am not sure why we wouldn’t have been seated at the first table we walked by, but I should’ve asked to be moved but I just didn’t want to cause a scene. I guess I would recommend that the tables over by the kitchen be reserved for “walk ins”, while the tables in the restaurant be reserved for rsvps. We always come to Ricks for all family celebrations so we will be back but just wanted to share our thoughts. I will say our waitress did a superb job!
Easter Sunday brunch was a wonderful experience. We had out of town guests and they were delighted with the choice. Only one thing ruined the meal....we had ordered bloody Mary's and they were disgusting!
The Barbeque pork nachos are amazing.
Steaks are not good at all -- poorest cuts of meat, very dry, and a weird mesquite seasoning. Food is probably better if covered in a sauce (like the sausage and shrimp pasta). Patrons are very snooty and self-absorbed. (50+ yo adults propped open patio door to the deck near a toddler in order to take selfies and got mad when asked to close the door.) The best part of our birthday celebration was our server Steven. He tried to make everything better and was very professional, so I was happy to leave a very large tip for him. Otherwise, save your money and just go there for the cocktails and the view during the summer.
Always good. Best Cajun food around. We both opted for soup. I had the Wisconsin beer & cheese, my husband had the gumbo. Both were awesome. We ordered from the seasonal menu since we were on a Living Social certificate. Hubby had the blackened rainbow trout with shrimp ettouffe, I had the sirloin/salmon with shrimp ettouffe combo. Both were fabulous. The ettouffe is spicy, but excellent. Specials included dessert. We split the brownie w/ice cream sundae, took the key lime pie home. Awesome night with awesome food.
Food was good, half the order was wrong. Service was terrible.
Waiter was professional. Food was tasty.
Our date night was a BLAST! We arrived right at 7:00 when the live music began. What I particularly liked about the music is that it was played delicately and not blaring in our ears. We could still clearly hear each other talk. Our entrees were delictible. He has the Mahi sandwich and I had the catfish meal. We ordered the stuffed crab mushrooms as an appetizer. And mmmmm the bread that is brought out is so soft and coupled with a delicious sweet butter. So many thumbs up! The drinks were rad too. We will definitely be coming back with the little one. Ah yes, and the scenic view is wonderful, but be prepared for a bright sunset if you are facing the window.
Brought the wrong beer we ordered first
Then Ordered a ribeye and we were served a New York steak
Wonderful food! Went for lunch for my birthday with my family.
At $65 I would have expected better food. It was good but just so-so. The best part of the meal was the bread and our service was outstanding. The plate reminded me of one a person puts in a microwave and heats up. The potatoes looked exactly like that. We go to Rick's for appetizers and this is the reason why! Way overpriced for what you are served and the appearance of the plate. Again, great service but I could have fixed a better tasting meal at home.
