Rick Erwin's Eastside
Book your next event with us
As always, the food was outstanding. However, we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated despite the fact that we had advance reservations for 2 for a special occasion. Each course of our meal was very slow to arrive, but the place was packed, presumably due to restaurant week. It seemed as though too many people were being accommodated at the expense of those of us that had made reservations well in advance. Nonetheless, we will be back because the food is excellent.
Rick Erwin's Eastside never disappoints. The atmosphere and service are top notch, and the food is excellent. It has become one of our favorite places to spend an evening.
This was a bad night for Rick Erwin’s. The food was not prepared well, we sent two steaks back. I ordered a bone in pork chop that was not a pork chop. We order a bottle of house cab and to my surprise it was $240 when the bill came. I’m extremely disappointed.
We asked for a quiet table when we made the reservation. We arrived on time and were offered a table next to the kitchen. We Declined and were offered the only other table available- in the entry way by the front door. We asked for another table seeing most of the restaurant was open and the hosted curtly replied “we have large parties so we have to accommodate them first”. Message received: we don’t matter. We had water pitchers next to us so we had waiters grabbing them next to our heads every 3 minutes. We rarely have a date night and spent $240.00 on supper for two. This is not how we plan to spend our “quiet evening” again. The food was amazing but the table was unacceptable. Having staff and patrons running past us and overhearing their conversations over our own is not intimate. We can get great food elsewhere for half the cost and not be treated like a number.
Food and service were exceptional! Christine was a wonderful server! Really enjoyed our dining experience there.
Restaurant week is the best! $45 menu was fabulous and a must for any couple looking for a great date night. Rick Erwins is always top notch and the bar staff can mix some of the best cocktails in Greenville!
A perfect dining experience for us! Our waiter was outstanding. We got to talking about our European travels and he shared photos w/us of his extensive travels through Egypt. He provided superb entertainment during this SC Restaurant Week outing. So nice to have a restaurant of this caliber in the neighborhood!
As always outstanding in every aspect. Was our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make our evening enjoyable.
Myself and family went for dinner . The wait staff was excellent as always . My daughter ordered Deadliest Catch ( king crab legs) they were overcooked and dry even after dipping in butter . I ordered the 7 oz Filet (Medium ) and the first time coming out it was medium well almost well and very dry . They brought me another one since I had ordered Medium Hot pink in the center and the second one was under cooked so I ate around the center of the steak . The Spinach had a strong wine taste to it so I only ate 2 bites . To say the least 2 out of 5 dinners were definitely not up to normal standards . Myself, my husband and usually friends frequent Rick Erwins Eastside as well as Nantucket down town . It was pretty disappointing this time on my Birthday. We don’t normally splurge this much when we have 3 kids with us but we are usually very impressed with the quality of food and thought since it was a special occasion we would let them experience fine dining as well ! I was given a Birthday card and piece of Cheese cake , thank you so much that was very nice !
We had a small problem with spices on the food. They did replace the item and the waiter was very apologetic
It was fantastic!!
Nice dinner New Year eve
First time at Eastside but have enjoyed other Rick Erwin properties. A full house New Year’s Eve handled smoothly and professionally. Nice to have the owner on site making his rounds! This was a great night and meal. We’ll be back!!
Great food, casual atmosphere, relaxing, great service
We were seated in a cold room while the room that was warmer remained empty although we were told those tables were resereved. We commented on coldness and were told the heat would be turned up. It never was that we could tell. I had soggy, soft scallops that were undercooked and my husband did not care. for his meal. The waiter did quickly bring a shrimp. cocktail to replace the trout he ordered. The cobbler dessert was dry and tasteless. The crab soup was very salty. Pretty much all of their specialty cocktails were brown. Waiters in white coats felt pretentious for a restaurant in a strip mall. For a bill pushing $200, we were absolutely not satisfied and are unlikely to return.
Perfect! Attentive staff and never asked for a thing!
We had a lovely dinner with our 85 year old mother who was visiting for the holidays. The food was excellent and our waitstaff was so attentive and kind.
Great service, excellent menu, entrées were very well prepared, good presentation. Overall a great experience.
Service and quality has gone downhill since last time we were there.
We waited nearly 1.5 hours after ordering our food to get it and we didn't order for 20+ min after arrival due to time to get wine served. We were offered a free desert as compensation for slow meal service, but it was so late no one in our party was interested. For nearly $400 for 4 people, I expect better service than that even around the holidays. The room we were in was nearly empty by the time we left. Have had dinner hear a few times before but service has gotten worse and food isn't that much better to justify cost plus slow service.
As usual, food and service were exquisite. We have had Grayson as our server on a number of occasions now and he always makes the evening enjoyable.
Everything about it was a wonderful, delightful experience! Will go back soon!
It was awesome birthday cards signed by Rick himself and the entire team. I have been a raving fan of the way Rick runs his locations for many years and I’ve NEVER been disappointed
It was fabulous. Very consistent from time to time.
Great service. Great place for quiet dinner or business dinner. Great food with individual twist.
Two of the dinners were 7oz filet's. They were excellent. Two other dinners were the special of the day Prime Rib, which was very disappointing. My cut of meat was almost as much fat as meat, bland tasting, tough and chewy (lots of sinew and tendon), came out close to being "cool", and had bland au jus as well. If not for the excellent hot horseradish the meal would have gone uneaten. Total tab before tip was $320, and I believe the Prime Rib was $130 of that. They offered free desert to compensate which to me was unacceptable. Two of the plates were underwhelming and neither of us felt like a desert after we finished. Actually, I almost finished my PR and my significant other barely touched hers. Awful.
We had a nice evening for my birthday. Food was very good and service even better.
The only thing that left me disappointed was the charge for a small glass of bourbon. I ordered a Eagle Rare neat. This is a $35-45 bottle of bourbon at retail and I’m sure is purchased for less by a restaurant. Given the size of the pour, I’m guessing you can get 15-20 pours out of a bottle. I was charged $21 for the drink. Do you really need to mark up bourbon by 15-20X for your customers? Why would a bourbon cost twice as much as a martini?
I know it’s a minor part of the evening, but it will make me think twice about coming back.
As ALWAYS the service was amazing! There is always a good variety of selections to choose from on the menu, and we have NEVER been disappointed with our meal! This is our ‘go to’ place!!
Something has changed here.
Perhaps a new chef?
All our dishes were so heavily salted that they wee not enjoyable at all.
In addition, our daughter became violently ill after eating at Rick Erwins; not a pleasant evening at all.
Kate, Ashley and the hosts and servers were great. Wonderful service. We enjoyed the prime rib and shrimp and grits and pie.
Fantastic meal and service. Highly recommended!
The staff was fantastic. I brought for the second time my 92 year old mother and we had Mike ( the waiter) again. He and the hostess took such fantastic care of my mother. Food was great. The service and kindness fantastic. We will be back for Christmas.
Each Rick Erwin’s location serves complete perfection from start to finish. You will not find better service, ambiance, food and drink, anywhere else in the area.
Truly enjoyed the service and food, as always.
It's our "neighborhood" white tablecloth place to eat. It feels good to be taken care of and eat a nice meal. Loved our new waiter .... Zach! Will be asking for him again! Would love some new things on the menu, but even so .... very good food.
Never disappointed here. Wonderful dinner and great service.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday. The staff started us out with a complimentary champagne and finished with a dessert for him. The food was delicious as always. The service was exceptional.
Food and drink was fantastic. Christina was great, her service and attention to detail was world class!
Rick Erwin's Eastside is a spectacular night out for anyone who enjoys the best food, the best wine, and the best service in town. A perfect place to bring your friends, family, or even business partners, to enjoy a night filled with outstanding flavor, phenomenal spirits, and the best music you will ever have the pleasure of listening to. The filet is always the most perfect cut, and the cheese cake tastes divine. I would recommend Rick Erwin's Eastside 10 out of 10 times, and cannot wait until I have an excuse to reserve another dinner. Truly the dining experience of a lifetime!!!
We love Rick Erwin’s but don’t go often since it is a more expensive meal. My husband and mom got cocktails - the Blantons was a generous pour. Both of our appetizers were amazing/ one of a kind—surf n turf was lobster and bone marrow (wow) and octopus skewer. We all ordered steaks and 2 out of 3 were outstanding. I had the filet and it couldn’t have been more juicy, flavorful and tender. My husbands steak was bone in ribeye ordered medium rare but cooked medium but he didn’t send it back - it’s too much of a hassle when you have to do that. But it’s a $60 steak so he was disappointed. Our waiter was great and she made an awesome suggestion for a bottle of wine that paired perfectly. The ambience is always relaxing and everyone is so nice and attentive. We loved our meal with the one exception.
