Rick Erwin's Eastside
She Crab Soup
crab, sherry, nutmeg
As always, another wonderful evening! Enjoying an evening out at Rick Erwin's Eastside never gets old. Quality is the key word in every aspect...certainly in the food, but also with service, staff and making sure everyone feels special!
Excellent across the board like always.
Came in to have bone-in filet, but it’s no longer on the menu. Please bring it back when prices stabilize on beef.
The chief special grouper was a good substitute. Scallops were cooked to perfection, as well.
The food is always consistent, and our server made it very pleasant.
Nice to know now about the Thursday dinner special. Great value idea.
See you soon!
It took an extremely long time to get our food. Grits were watery. The fish special was average at best.
Our waiter was pleasant and did his best.
Food was disappointing. Maybe it was my fault for ordering fish at a steak house
We sat in the bar area (our request) and it was very pleasing. The food quality, presentation and service was outstanding. The Thursday night special, prime rib, is a must try.
Our server was menu knowledgeable, efficient and timely and had a great demeaner.
Fantastic restaurant! Always a great dinning experience. Excellent food and service.
Incredible steak, as always. Service was fabulous with Christina.
I don't have issues often (except for espresso machine) at Rick Erwin's Eastside, but when I do they don't often know how to respond. The apps were great and the main course, feature catch of the day, came dry/over cooked. The replacement was very slow and my guest had already finished his meal so I had lost the appetite and time to continue so they boxed it. We also wanted an espresso, and again the machine was not working, which is common. Not looking for a free meal, but I was surprised to see the fish on the bill or no other "night cap" as a gesture for the inconvenience.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Easy to make reservations, the service is wonderful and the food is great.
It was AMAZING! My grandmother loved it since it was her birthday. Everything was exceptional! I’d definitely would return for another dinner!
As always, we had a wonderful experience at Rick Erwin's Eastside. We were celebrating a special birthday and the entire staff made this a memorable occasion for us. Food was amazing as always!
Absolutely love our server. We have had her before and as always we were treated very well.
The food was excellent as expected. Our server, Bill, did a wonderful job balancing offering advice, checking on us, and getting out of the way to let the food do the talking. It was my wife’s birthday and they did not disappoint. We had a great evening.
Had a very unusual experience this time. Had to return main course, just smelled and tasted odd which they quickly resolved with a new entree. A $70 steak should be perfect, this one was definitely not. Usually get stellar food and service, I'm hoping this was just an unlucky exception. Our server was quick to make it right and should be commended for his professionalism, I don't even think the manager was aware.
This probably our favorite place in Greenville. The entire staff was fantastic and our server team of Thomas and Christina took outstanding care of us. The food is fantastic as is the atmosphere. I highly recommend Rick Erwin’s Eastside!
The surf and turf special was a very good option. The fillet was excellent and the bbq shrimp very tasty.
Great food. Clean. Service perfect
It was absolutely amazing my daughter met the Ruck Erin himself!
Food (steak for her, swordfish for him) was well-presented and good to the palette. Decaf coffee needs definite improvement! Quiet atmosphere was conducive to personal space and overall enjoyment. Glad we dined here.
Christina as always was wonderful but you were so short staffed that we didn’t even get waited on beyond getting our water fo almost 30 minutes
Not Christina’s fault as she was busting it as wasSebastian
You need to comp something when service is backed up-complimentary drink or for those that don’t drink, complimentary appetizer
Baked Brie was great. Scallops were perfect. Smoked old fashioned one of the best I’ve had. Delmonico steak very avg. too dry, flavor was eh. lobster tail was great.
Perfection as always. The steak was cooked exactly right and was probably the softest steak I've ever had. The she crab soup was creamy with just a touch of sweet. Our server Thomas was attentive and informative.
We took advantage of Restaurant Week to try out a new location for us -- Rick Irwin's Eastside -- and celebrate my mom's 89th birthday a week early. The evening was, in short, perfect.
We were seated right away at a comfortable table, not too close to other diners. The room was about 3/4 full, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their dinner. Noise level was about what you would expect for a room with that many people.
We were greeted immediately by Carly, who brought water and told us that she and Kevin would be taking care of us this evening. Carly helped me move the tables a bit, since I wanted to sit next to my mom and not across from her so she could hear me more clearly. No fuss, no muss. Oh, and I have to note that since I mentioned my mom's birthday when I made the reservation through Open Table, the hostess, Carly and our server Kevin all mentioned it and there was a signed birthday card waiting for mom at our table.
Kevin and Carly were a fantastic team. They were both attentive, but not intrusive. Kevin made excellent wine and menu suggestions and was very personable in his visits to the table. He monitored our progress and even thought we told him we were in no hurry, made sure to update us on the progress of the next course.
At one point in the evening Rick Erwin stopped by to greet us and wish mom a happy birthday as he worked the room -- a lovely touch.
The food was exceptional. Mom's petit filet was perfectly prepared and my swordfish was probably one of the best preparations I've ever had. Even the bread was wonderful.
At the end of the meal, Kevin and Carly appeared with two flutes of champagne for us to toast mom, and a third flute with a pair of sparklers to celebrate mom's special night.
It was truly an exceptional evening. It is so nice to have a high-quality restaurant "in the 'burbs" and we will recommend it to all our friends and neighbors.
Thank you to the staff at Rick Erwin's for making my mom's birthday such a special event.
Oysters Rockefeller were amazing, steak was cooked to perfection! Our service was outstanding and Eddie made perfect cocktails!
This place is amazing. It is the closest I have found to haute cuisine in the area. The service is freaking impeccable. Attention to small details like crumbing the table, and little things like clearing all plates between courses truly add to the enjoyment of the evening. Thank you to our host, Sebastian, our waitress Paige, our busser, Jacob, and our hostesses Abbey and Jordan! I cannot wait to go back!
It was great!
Still one of the great restaurants outside the downtown area. Fantastic Steaks and at the moment they offer a Scallops Oscar topping. 3 huge diver scallops, asparagus and Béarnaise. Had it with the truffle fries. Excellent. My wife had the crab cakes which are always a hit. Had the raw oysters with House made hot sauce. Worth it just for the hot sauce - great flavor with just a hint of heat.
Great place to celebrate your Anniversary! The extra details that Rick Erwins brings to the table to help celebrate a special occasion is amazing! !!
always great service, food, and ambiance.
Wonderful birthday celebration!
Rick Erwin's Eastside is our favorite for a special dinner out. The food is outstanding with many appetizer choices. We settled on lobster escargot style, a half dozen raw oysters, and beef carpaccio. The cowboy bone-in rib-eye steak was my entree selection last evening topped with Rick's black & blue -- delicious! Highly recommended.
My first visit left me with a great view of the place 5 stars. We pulled up to the restaurant at 5pm (reservation time) and we noticed two sets of people waiting outside the door. We thought maybe they were waiting outside for other to join their party. As I reached for the door of the restaurant, it was locked. There was a sign on the door that stated they would open up at 5pm that day instead of 4pm. The problem with that was it was past 5pm. I called the restaurant around 5:07pm and asked if they were open today. A young girl answered and said they are open however they were having a meeting inside at the time and saying goodbye to one of the chefs and that they would be ready to open in another 5 min. It was extremely hot outside and we all were sweating profusely. I didn’t understand why a quick text couldn’t have been made through OpenDoor by the restaurant to those who had 5pm reservations. I don’t know the severity of what was going on other than a meeting and someone leaving. When the door was opened by a young mixed guy he unlocked the door, pushed it opened and then closed the door. I was shocked and wondered if he was going to even acknowledge that there’s 3-4 different parties standing outside in the heat because they didn’t open up. There was no apologies other than the guy finally pushing the door open to allow people in and stated in a very unprofessional and snooty way, THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE! It wasn’t in a nice tone nor was his facial expression. No one apologized for having us outside over 10 minutes waiting. I thought it to be rude and unprofessional especially when we were about to drop over $100 for a meal. After being seated i noticed that none of the staff apologized about the wait and door being locked, I went to the hostess and explained that we were out of town and the same guy who was just rude while opening the door was the guy I came back to see. He impressed me my 1st visit with his knowledge of fine wine. Not impressed anymore.
We had such a great time! Our waitress, who’s name I do not remember, was amazing. We got there a little late so it was less busy, such a great experience!
Wonderful service. Delicious food. Will make Rick Erwin one of my favorites!
Dinner was excellent as always at Rick Erwins’s!
Great place to enjoy a celebration - servers are attentive, food is outstanding.
We made the reservation for our 18th anniversary. They made us feel special as soon as we walked in the door, and brought champagne as we looked through the menu. We had an outstanding dinner and experience, and will definitely repeat next year.....hopefully sooner!!!
Excellent food and service. The only negative was the loud rock music being played. It didn’t fit the ambiance of the restaurant and was too loud. Rick stopped by our table, introduced himself, and welcomed us. We’ll be back.
Well executed delicious food and cocktails! Service was seamless and the staff was very knowledgeable and personable. Will definitely be back!
