Rick Erwin's Eastside
Book your next event with us
The service was slow and the staff was stretched thin with Valentine's weekend crowd.
Birthday celebration for my daughter
Food was great
Love the crab cakes
Very busy night there due to Valentines weekend.
Stead were cooked to perfection
We went to Rick Erwin's for the first time to have prime rib somewhere different than our normal spots. We had excellent service as far as the personalities go, they were extremely pleasant and upbeat. On the other hand, very slow. Our prime rib was not as tasty as less expensive restaurants, which was very disappointing. We prefer to dine where customers get at least 2 sides with a meal, especially when spending too much money for dinner out.
The Rick Erwin staff did their usual wonderful focus on customer satisfaction. We were their for dinner on February 15 for a belated Valentine’s Dinner as well as a birthday dinner for our 14 year old granddaughter.
Everything was perfect! Service was exceptional, quality of food was fantastic and entire meal including a photograph of the birthday celebration was perfect for our special occasion!
I put yes that I would recommend based off previous experiences. But this passed Valentine's day they over booked their seating and we were sitting in the middle of the floor basically blocking the Walk thru where the employees are coming in and out from the back. Multiple times servers came pretty close to my wife's head while squeezing by
Valentines was probably a bad idea. Made reservations using OpenTable about 3 weeks ago for 8:30 PM. We arrived at 8:20 and waited until after 9 to be seated. We promptly ordered all our food, including an appetizer, but our main entrees didn't arrive until 10:30 or slightly after that. Other couples, who had been seated 30+ minutes after us, had already been served their meals and some had left. We were told that our delay was because we had ordered an appetizer. 🙄 My advice: don't order an appetizer. The food was delicious as always.
Our Valentines dinner with my wife and daughter. Food was very good, but the service lacked. In 2:30 hrs we saw a waiter 3 times, we had to ask for things to the waitress on the next table. For these prices and special occasion we had , the service was very poor. Understanding that it was a busy night but needed to be better prepared.
Valentines dinner and it was great
Grayson was great, along with Ryan! We also met rick which was great to see him come visit!
I have been to Rick Erwin's Eastside many times and have had excellent service and food. I am disappointed that on a special occasion of Valentine's day that the service was not good. I had a reservation for over a month. I wonder why you felt it was a good idea to overbook the restaurant? We were seated right away. This is when the problem began. Our wait times for our drink order, food order and food service were incredibly long. We waited at least 45 minutes between each course. By the third course and main entree, we were so ready to go that we didn't enjoy the meal that we came for. I was really disappointed to see so many young couples hoping to experience a fine dining experience for Valentine's Day and knowing in my heart that this would be a bad experience for them too. Perhaps in the future, you won't overextend yourselves and the experience will be much better for a few than not good for many. Next year, I'll choose someplace different.
If there were more than 5 stars Rick Erwin's would get them! This was a second visit and did not disappoint in any way. Starting with reservations, to the service, and the appetizers everything was perfectly timed. We enjoyed fresh oysters, excellent She Crab soup followed by the best Filet Mignon anywhere. Rick Erwin visited our table himself, and he is very personally involved in the perfection that makes Rick Erwin's worth the price. Anything fabulous is worth paying for, and our Valentines visit was worth every penny. Thank you Rick and thank you to our server Lisa.
Food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice. The service was great.
Very slow... hostess told us that she doesn’t like people hanging on after the meal because they want to get the table ready for the next customer. She was adamant about how she hated people hanging on. Also, the tables were too close together to the people next to us but very long so I was closer to the guy next to me than my wife.. That’s just awkward!! The only redeeming quality was the food... it was delicious!
Excellent service, food, and ambience!
Night before Valentine’s Day, so place was moving. Our waitress, Katie was just great! Always a warm smile very accommodating. Good job!
Great food, the owner, Rick, came by and checked on our experience.
Fantastic food. Mike the waiter was great. Filet was delicious and cooked perfectly. We even had Rick Erwin stop by the table to thank us for coming. We will be back again soon!
Great service and amazing food
Excellent food and service
Kitchen was very slow
Fabulous place in an unexpected location. Traditional steak and seafood but with a nice range of seasonal dishes. The Lobster knuckles done escargot style were great.
Great food and great service from Ashley and Christina. Was impressed by a table visit from Rick.
We enjoyed the music. The food was very good. We enjoyed this location as well as the two restaurants down town.
The food was very good, but the service was exceptional. We dined in the bar area and the service was excellent! We look forward to returning.
As always, the food was outstanding. However, we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated despite the fact that we had advance reservations for 2 for a special occasion. Each course of our meal was very slow to arrive, but the place was packed, presumably due to restaurant week. It seemed as though too many people were being accommodated at the expense of those of us that had made reservations well in advance. Nonetheless, we will be back because the food is excellent.
Rick Erwin's Eastside never disappoints. The atmosphere and service are top notch, and the food is excellent. It has become one of our favorite places to spend an evening.
This was a bad night for Rick Erwin’s. The food was not prepared well, we sent two steaks back. I ordered a bone in pork chop that was not a pork chop. We order a bottle of house cab and to my surprise it was $240 when the bill came. I’m extremely disappointed.
We asked for a quiet table when we made the reservation. We arrived on time and were offered a table next to the kitchen. We Declined and were offered the only other table available- in the entry way by the front door. We asked for another table seeing most of the restaurant was open and the hosted curtly replied “we have large parties so we have to accommodate them first”. Message received: we don’t matter. We had water pitchers next to us so we had waiters grabbing them next to our heads every 3 minutes. We rarely have a date night and spent $240.00 on supper for two. This is not how we plan to spend our “quiet evening” again. The food was amazing but the table was unacceptable. Having staff and patrons running past us and overhearing their conversations over our own is not intimate. We can get great food elsewhere for half the cost and not be treated like a number.
Food and service were exceptional! Christine was a wonderful server! Really enjoyed our dining experience there.
Restaurant week is the best! $45 menu was fabulous and a must for any couple looking for a great date night. Rick Erwins is always top notch and the bar staff can mix some of the best cocktails in Greenville!
A perfect dining experience for us! Our waiter was outstanding. We got to talking about our European travels and he shared photos w/us of his extensive travels through Egypt. He provided superb entertainment during this SC Restaurant Week outing. So nice to have a restaurant of this caliber in the neighborhood!
As always outstanding in every aspect. Was our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make our evening enjoyable.
Myself and family went for dinner . The wait staff was excellent as always . My daughter ordered Deadliest Catch ( king crab legs) they were overcooked and dry even after dipping in butter . I ordered the 7 oz Filet (Medium ) and the first time coming out it was medium well almost well and very dry . They brought me another one since I had ordered Medium Hot pink in the center and the second one was under cooked so I ate around the center of the steak . The Spinach had a strong wine taste to it so I only ate 2 bites . To say the least 2 out of 5 dinners were definitely not up to normal standards . Myself, my husband and usually friends frequent Rick Erwins Eastside as well as Nantucket down town . It was pretty disappointing this time on my Birthday. We don’t normally splurge this much when we have 3 kids with us but we are usually very impressed with the quality of food and thought since it was a special occasion we would let them experience fine dining as well ! I was given a Birthday card and piece of Cheese cake , thank you so much that was very nice !
We had a small problem with spices on the food. They did replace the item and the waiter was very apologetic
It was fantastic!!
Nice dinner New Year eve
First time at Eastside but have enjoyed other Rick Erwin properties. A full house New Year’s Eve handled smoothly and professionally. Nice to have the owner on site making his rounds! This was a great night and meal. We’ll be back!!
