Fantastic, personable service and a laid back vibe.
Food was solid. Pimiento cheese hush puppies...incredible.
Sweet tea brined chicken was very good, as was the seared trout.
I'd make this a regular destination.
We were warmly greeted when we arrived and seated right away. Evan, our server was excellent and took great care of us. Our cocktails were seasonal and delicious. For dinner we decided to have several small plates to maximize all Rhubarb has to offer. We each had a dessert and after dinner drink. It was all so so good. We left satisfied, well fed and extremely happy!
Limited selection. Steak was uneatable— hard time to even cut it off it’s a knife
A disappointing meal out
Second visit to Rhubarb and we brought friend who had never been there. Small menus, but enough to choose from even for us non-meat eaters. Everything is fresh and prepared to perfection.
Definitely an excellent choice here in Asheville.
10 out of 10 recommend and will be back. I haven’t stopped thinking about the buratta goat cheese since we finished the dish and basically licked the plate clean. The service was also fantastic. Our server was incredibly friendly and provided great recommendations. I can’t wait to go back.
Had the goat cheese burrata and the hash with bacon. It simple, good tasting food. Drinks were pretty tasty too! Sat on the outdoor patio and people watched!
Great food!
Wonderful as usual. Rhubarb never disappoints.
Failed to highlight (or even note) when I made this reservation that the restaurant would be putting us outdoors- on a barely heated patio (three small heaters hanging from the roof of a roughly 20 x 35 patio area) , with an open plastic "covering" while it was 42 degrees and raining. Did not offer indoor when my party arrived. Food flavor was good, but cold as soon as it arrived, and way overpriced for what you received. Being able to see one's breath while they eat is a less than desirable atmosphere. Needless to say, I will not return even after COVID regulations, because if this is the plan for dealing with the outdoor dining situation, you need to get better management.
Had a very nice dinner with my Girlfriend. We shared an appetizer and an entree and were quite satisfied with the taste as well as the portion size
Rhubarb was fantastic. The service was was very professional, we felt very comfortable and at home. Interesting, yet very delicious take on cocktails. Very delicious. We ordered tapas for our meal, with a full range of meats and items we left very satisfied.
Brunch was fun! I haven't had burrata since my last visit overseas. Have been to Rhubarb several times over the years and it delivers consistently high quality food and top notch service! Thanks y'all!
We had requested outside seating when I made my reservation, and the night of our reservation was cold. We were seated outside in the enclosed patio - which was fine, but the space heaters that were out there were inadequate to heat the space, especially since there were gaps in the enclosure to allow for air circulation. We had to eat in hats, gloves and heavy coats which did not enhance our experience. If you are going to offer outdoor seating during the winter, there should be enough heaters to make the space comfortable. The food was good, but not remarkable - except for the hush puppies which were some of the best I've had. We would have probably enjoyed to food and the experience more than we did if we weren't trying to rush through our dinner to get to somewhere warm.
We went for brunch—hubs had the fried chicken biscuit & it was great/filling. I had the shrimp & grits & it was incredibly underwhelming. Only 3 little shrimp, and the grits had absolutely zero seasoning. No salt or pepper. Once I mixed the sriracha sauce that was on the shrimp in with the grits, it was okay. Just sad to leave an expensive brunch still hungry.
I took by two daughters to Rhubarb for brunch. One of my daughters has to be completely gluten free, and she was able to order ALMOST anything off the menu.
Food separate. Our server was knowledgeable about the food on the menu and attentive to our needs.
We were seated 6 feet apart from others. Masks were worn by all staff at all times.
Guests wore masks until seated.
It was such a pleasurable dining experience in such a difficult time.
Get the gnocchi, get the burrata. Then place a to-go order for more of both.
The staff was amazing! They were so accommodating with our seating request. The food, as always, was delicious! Thanks to Rhubarb for a great date night!
Solid food, excellent service and a cozy atmosphere. A great dining experience.
The service and food were both incredible!
Our service was very knowledgeable and patient with our questions. The cheesecake was delicious! And she has excellent wine selections.
Valentine pre-fixe menu made sense and overall, very good! The first 3 courses were really very tasty and creative. However, the lava cake at the end was expected and somewhat dry.
It was a bit chilly on the patio but the food was amazing. Had a great Valentines dinner.
Valentines Day!
It was Valentine’s Day, and we made last minute reservations for 4:30. The prix fixe menu with drink pairings was amazing. Every dish was super flavorful. Even with COVID restrictions, the restaurant made the experience special. The four course menu was just the right amount of food, and we left the restaurant completely satisfied. My favorite bite was the smoky hen of the woods mushrooms paired with the Bench Cab (2016). Yum!!!
The duck confit for Valentine's Day was amazing! I will be back again and again.
Chef does a great job!
Fantastic food, exceptional service. Valentine’s morning brunch was perfect.
Awesome food!!!!
The food was delicious. They are a little over the top about Covid . You can’t get a drink from the bar while you wait for a table even if you are wearing a mask and social distancing. But once you get your table the service becomes friendly and accommodating.
Awesome food, from tapas to entrees, served with a smile.
It seems the chef works very hard to create "complex" dishes but can't do simple things like not plate pasta well before it is served so that it is cold when it reaches the table, or roast a potatoe so that it is not raw and still crunchy. Also if you order steak I shouldn't have to chase you down to get a steak knife to actually eat the steak. Overpriced and underwhelming.
We got a bottle of red wine to share (Malbec), the goat cheese starter, the steak and the pork main and shared the cheesecake for dessert. 10/10 meal!
Very good food and service
Food was fantastic, service was friendly and prompt! Covid considerations made us feel very comfortable dining out.
We were looking for a romantic dinner date for 2 and were so happy that we were placed at this cute table for two alcove with glass surrounding us so we were COVID safe and could view the happenings in the restaurant. Rhubarb is an Earthy, yet upscale culinary experience filled with tasty delights. The craft cocktails were original and amazing, and the wine list featured many great options. Our appetizer, the hushpuppies made with pimento cheese and onions were to die for. The Cauliflower soup with a taste of pumpkin was light and delightful. And my main entre' - the NC Trout with Sweet Potato slices and Brussel Sprouts was so good. The service staff was professional, congenial and cute. Loved every minute of it. I highly recommend it for couples or small groups. It has a great Asheville WNC vibe.
Delicious Sunburst Trout
The food was a little bland this go around unfortunately (for multiple people in our party). This is our third time coming here.
Everything was wonderful! Do yourself a favor and dine here.
Wow! An absolute A+ dining experience! The food is ABSOLUTELY insanely good, and Mike, my server, was absolutely incredible. He was super low key and fun and smart and funny and helpful and attentive and... just perfect. I had the hush puppies (DO NOT leave this restaurant without those!!), the gnocchi and the salad. Even the cocktails and beers were killer. Awesome experience. I absolutely loved it!
The food was not good and the way they manage the restaurant seemed peculiar. We made a reservation for 8 pm and were not seated until 8:30 pm because our "table was not ready". During that time period, three sets of couples entered at different times. The hostess turned away the first two couples who needed a table, but then gave the third couple (who just happened to be dressed nicer) a table outside. Once we were sat, we noticed a larger table that could easily seat 8 guests (and was 6 feet from other tables) went without guests for the entire length of our dinner. I ordered the Squash dish. I was unable to eat more than 3 bites because it was overly salted. I'm 8 months pregnant, so I thought maybe it was just my altered taste...but my husband tried it as well and said it was so salty that it was inedible.
