I made reservations to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I did not expect to be seated in the bar area! I received a weak explanation involving waitstaff when I asked if we could be seated at a nicer table with a tablecloth. There were plenty of available tables on the first floor. Not the best customer service in Charleston.

Nice looking restaurant inside. The service was ok but the food prep and delivery were sub-par. The entrees came out at the same time as our salads and since we were sitting at a two-top there was no place to put all four plates. Well run restaurants bring you your salad first and give you enough time to eat it before bringing out your entree. We had the food running take the entrees back so we could finish our salads and told our server that we really would like the entrees to not be sitting under a heat lamp for 15 minutes. So she assured us that she would have the kitchen "remake" both entrees. We were hoping that "remaking" them meant a hot meal but it meant a room temperature meal. I figured out why "Stars" was the only restaurant we could get a last minute Saturday night reservation at. Longhorn Steakhouse has a better run kitchen...you can get a hotter, better tasting meal there for alot less money. I am glad that Stars did not make any attempt to make a disappointing experience better in any way. That way I won't forget I ate there and make that mistake twice.

Would not go back. There were no olives for the martinis, only one brand of vodka. We ate early and they were out of several items on the menu. Steaks were not prime beef. We had to ask the waiter to bus the table when we were finished.

The food was amazing. The chef came to our table after dinner and we had the opportunity to thank him personally. The cornbread is a MUST!! Very delicious staff was awesome. Highly recommend!

Our family was in town for the weekend. I made reservations for the rooftop on your website… It does not state that you can’t reserve a rooftop. But the woman at the desk was quite accommodating… we had dinner downstairs prior to going up on the rooftop. We have been here several times in the past, but this time we were very disappointed. There were not a whole lot of customers… Our server was delightful, and tried his best but everything took a very very long Time, and the food was not as great as I remembered… All in all, we still have a delightful time and enjoy cocktails on the rooftop after.

Run don’t walk. AWAY from this place. Literally one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had in my life. Sides were $12 and delivered AFTER the meal was pretty much over. Order two short rib dinners. Very very tough. Which should never happen with that preparation. Reordered something different only to wait 20 Mins for steak that was undercooked. All the other food was very underwhelming for the price After a while our server avoided our table of six . We talked to the manager who said he would immediately take care of things only to never see him again. Other tables were complaining as well. Ruined what was supposed to be a high quality last night in Charleston dinner . Two of us left not having had a meal. Absolutely a disappointment and disgrace to Charleston restaurants. Avoid. Really.

The staff was great, open floor plan with two large groups on either side so rather loud. The menu has a rather limited amount of selections so wish we would have looked before we went. My wife had a filet as it was grainy, with very tough parts she struggled to cut through with a steak knife. If you are not a beef eater your choices are extremely limited. The rooftop bar area was really nice but too cold for us last night.

This was really an awful dining experience. It took half an hour to get a cocktail. There was only one waiter and the wait for food was over an hour. When the food did come, the meat was underdone, and everything was too salty to eat. The salad was drenched in oil with no vinegar. Virtually inedible meal

When we arrived there was no other customers and yet we were seated at the smallest table all the way in the back near the kitchen where we could hear all of the chattering of the cooks discussing personal stuff. My hubby and I came for date night so the last thing we want to hear is men chatting up a storm in the background. One other couple came in and our waitress seemed to have forgotten about us, apparently too overwhelmed by two whole tables. Most of the food was delicious but their Bernaise sauce was super watery and many of the items listed online were not on the menu. It was an ok experience but will not be trying this place again.

Really disappointing. We were seated in the bar area even though there were lots of open booths and were next to a long table that had a bachelorette party. Server was not good. Poured the water from high up and splashed water all over the table, menus and us. Didn't even attempt to clean it up. I went to the bar and got bev naps to wipe the water away. Cornbread was overcooked. Salads were great. One person ordered the 8 oz filet, and it came out on a huge plate. Just bad presentation. The "Ocean Harvest" was good but smelled very fishy. After dinner the waiter finally came over and just dropped the check and said, "we basically don't have any dessert so here's your bill". Then he didn't come back to get the card for some time.

We were very happy with the ambiance of the restaurant. It’s very nice with a warm feeling when you walk in. The man greeting us at the door was very friendly. We originally wanted to go to the rooftop but it was raining so we couldn’t. We had a new waiter but there was a lovely waitress helping him. The appetizers were great and so was the dinner. I did have to send my filet back, I needed a warmer temp and it came back perfect. We would definitely go back again.

I had the carbonara… it was terrible. Would not recommend. All meat and veggies were very charred tasting, not my style. Was very disappointed my server did not follow up on how the meal was tasting. I am not usually one to complain.

I have never written a poor review but this deserves it. Way way way to loud - we had to shout to hear each other. The waiter (Joel?) was sarcastic and bored with the job and told us the chef quit last week - RED FLAGS but we stayed. Shame on us. Appetizers, salad and dinner all served together with no chance to enjoy before everything got cold. Steaks were bloody and undercooked when we asked for medium. NO steak knives given even though we asked 3 times and couldn’t cut the meat. Just bad in all areas! Asked to speak to a manager but no one was available. Do not go until they get things figured out. For the price it was extremely disappointing.

Food and service were exceptional. We sat up on the roof and had a drink at the Satellite Bar after dinner. It had rained just before we had gone up, but we sat at the bar and were very comfortable. Looking forward to going back.

Outstanding ambience for brunch with live jazz music. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the environment. I ordered the steak and eggs, the breakfast potatoes weren't done and the steak was raw(ordered medium). My wife ordered the french toast and it was tasty. Best part of the brunch was the mimosas and server. Wouldn't order the steak and eggs again. It has given me pause about going for dinner based off the brunch performance.

A new menu was debuted but the servers had not been well versed on the changes and some of the things we had wanted were no longer offered. Food was overall good but the carpaccio is very small and was brown as if it had been under heat lamps. The lighting is VERY bright, not the ambiance expected at a nice restaurant. Our bill also had several discrepancies and we were charged for extra entrees. Overall we were just disappointed.

Overall had a nice experience. It was a Saturday and pretty busy. Good food, but long ticket times for entree which is understandable. Gabriel our server was awesome. If you want a quieter experience sit away from the pathway between the front door and busy rooftop elevator that is trafficked VERY frequently.

First off, waiter was very good. I originally made the reservation based on the Charleston restaurant week and the rooftop. I arrived early to have a drink on the rooftop only to find it was closed for a private event. I asked about the restaurant week menu and was told that there was none. No explanation given. We were sent at a very small table with no table cloth and close to the bar. Needless to say, it was very noisy. I asked the waiter if there were any specials for tonight. We were told there were not. The selections on the menu were limited compared to the menu online. we ordered our food and hoped to enjoy a nice meal, but we were constantly bothered by swarms of little gnats. This was totally unacceptable. The food was OK. Except for the burnt brussels sprouts. They were inedible and we sent them back. The quality of the mussels appetizer was also very disappointing. Overall, the dinner and experience was the worst of our four wonderful days in Charleston. I would not recommend this restaurant, nor will we ever return.

Anniversary weekend celebration in Charleston. Stars has a limited menu and couple of items unavailable. We decided to just have salads; only protein available was grilled chicken. We did appreciate the Champaign.

Nice atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. Service was surprisingly slow, given that the restaurant was nearly empty the whole time we were there. The Salmon Crudo appetizer was excellent. The steaks we ordered were only fair; not the best cuts of meat. The rooftop bar was a bit of a disappointment. Nice vibe, but the view of other rooftops was not impressive.

The food was excellent! We ordered steaks, risotto, cornbread, and vegetables- all was delicious and steaks were cooked perfectly. Downsides were the restaurant was really loud, and our service wasn’t great. Our server seemed really rushed and busy but we did go on a Friday evening

Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food. No explanation till we asked and then we were told they needed an additional 6 minutes which turned into 14 min. No manager came. No explanation. Waiter was waiting on the kitchen. When hood got here we were no longer hungry.

Wagyu steak was tougher than any steak I have ever had. Food came out late and cold or steaming hot. Restaurant was empty and they could not produce a quality product. Bugs on the floor and staff disengaged. Was the worst meal I have had in the city of Charleston.
