The Duncombe Arms is a beautiful, traditional country pub situated at the heart of the lovely rural village of Ellastone on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border. Located on the edge of the Peak District near the towns of Ashbourne and Uttoxeter it is a great place to visit providing a delightful setting in which to enjoy a drink, some lovely food, as well as a chat with friends or family.

Come inside and enjoy a roaring log fire, sample our excellent range of beers and wines or enjoy fabulous food from our award-winning chef Scott Law. Or in the summer you can laze in our large garden overlooking the view to Worthy Island Wood.

    Love this pub, and have been many times. Food is consistent but I do think these days it's a little over priced. The food is good quality "gastro" pub style food but the average price for a main course is around £30 which seems quite steep for what it is. Won't stop me coming back because it's a great spot but would like it to be better value for money.

    The Duncombe Arms is a wonderful place, with fabulous food and staff who treat you like family. We had yet another amazing meal, the perfect place for our celebration - can’t wait to go back!

    Steeped in heritage, this beautiful restaurant has the perfect balance of the highest quality, creative cuisine and pub vibe. Everything is tastefully done and the staff are amazing. I've never left the Duncombe Arms disappointed, it's a special place for a special treat or an impromptu visit after a day in the Peaks.

    Had a great table as it was so hot we sat in the covered area outside which was lovely. The service was really good, friendly professional staff and the food was excellent and presented beautifully . Had a lovely evening and will be back .
