The clam chowder bowl did not disappoint. It was delicious; however, the lobster did not have much meat. We had to request that they bring us a new order of fries, because they were cold. I expected more of this popular restaurant.

My lobster roll was amazing, and my husband’s halibut was delicious! I highly recommend Sam’s for a great, fresh seafood dinner!

This is our must stop in half moon bay. Our waiter was excellent and you can’t beat the view. I forget it can be “touristy” because we live close and it was a little noisy with young children running around (all fair- it was the weekend during summer) I would recommend anything that is fresh! The Cioppino was really good and the crab cake fat and full of crab.

We had 11:30 reservation. Got there just before and there was a long line, they open at 11:30. We were at end of line wondering what to do and a host walked by asking who has reservations…..he rushed us to front and in, got the “rock star” treatment!”

Service was pleasant and professional. Food exceeded expectations. Fried shrimp we’re delicious, my wife had here salmon prepared perfectly. Ahi poke was better than Hawaii

My friend had the naked lobster roll gluten free (no bun but lettuce wrap) which she loved. Lots of lobster in it. I had the Po Boy Shrimp. Delicious. Our server Paco was attentive, funny and just really great. We used OpenTable and were the first ones in and got a table with spectacular views.

Our first visit to Sam's was not very good (food was mediocre), but after speaking to a manager about our experience, she convinced us to come back and give it another try. We had a much better experience the second time, the food was much better.

We lived in Montara, a 5 minute drive from Sam's for 25 years. Our go-to spot was ALWAYS Sam's. Their food was always exceptional, and service was THE BEST!! We became part of the Sam's family. Anytime we had family or friend visit, Sam's was ALWAYS on our agenda. We moved to Tucson 5 years ago and visited Sam's every year at least once, most years twice. Two weeks ago, we planned our visit to the coast and had reservations at Sam's 3 different times with 3 different sets of friends we were visiting. What a huge DISAPPOINTMENT!! We were so bummed. Food was just ok......not the normal freshness we were always used to. Service was so bad that at the end of our meal, we realized no one had even come to ask how our meal was. Now our half empty dishes were sitting in front of us for 20 minutes. We couldn't believe it. Where was our waiter? Several bus people walked by, and other waiter and waitresses, but no one even looked at us. We felt invisible. After the manager walked by us 2 different times, my husband said as he quickly passed our table again......EXCUSE ME SIR......Again he said Excuse Me Sir just a bit louder. He did turn around to us and said "Yes", my husband said, "Can you please have someone take our plates away here. He gave us a dirty look and raised his eyebrows at us as he scanned our table with a look like, " don't disturbed me for this" . But he did pick up our plates and then said to us,"are you happy now?" If we didn't have friends with us we would have gotten up and left at that moment. However, our guests wanted dessert. We asked a bus boy to get our waiter and we ordered 2 desserts. When they were delivered 20 minutes later, we asked the waiter to please bring us the bill. The bill was $400 not including the Tip. I am sure by now you have realized a $400 bill is pretty normal for 4 people and an exceptional evening out for dinner at Sam's, however, that was our last dollar we will spend there at Sam's. We canceled our next 2 dinners there.
