ATX Cocina experiments with the boundaries of Mexican cuisine. We have taken traditional Mexican dishes and elevated them with modern approaches and techniques. Corn, the basis of the Mexican cuisine for thousands of years, is also the foundation of our kitchen. We nixtamalize and process our masa in house sourcing it from heirloom varieties of corn grown by small family farms in Mexico.

    Our server, Ethan, went above and beyond to make sure our water glasses were filled and we had everything we needed. The chips and salsa were delicious and so were the esquites and brussel sprouts (coming from someone who doesn’t like brussel sprouts). I got the Red Chile Roasted Chicken which was really good, a tad spicy but very moist. I would have liked more bacon. I tried my mom’s pork chop and it was the best pork chop both of us ever had. My dad thoroughly enjoyed the crab relleno and was really sad when he’d eaten it all. When I come back, I’m definitely getting the pork chop. We had an amazing time here and will come back the next time we’re in Austin.

    The BEST restaurant in ATX. Never upsets! Everything on the menu is great and so are the drinks.

    Beautiful interior, and the staff was very polite. I took my dad for Father’s Day with my boyfriend and everyone was impressed. We ordered the Caesar (incredible) and the sopes for a starter, dinner we ordered the Pork Chop, lump crab relleno with the corn as a “side” for the entrees. Our plan was to try everything, family style. Everything was seriously outstanding and the waiter helped us confirm if we had enough to split, he had us add the corn as we didn’t truly understand the menu. Corn was great, I love corn and there was literally enough for 6 people however the price was a bit much all things considered. We didn’t get dessert. My dad is certainly a “foodie” and couldn’t stop talking about how excellent it was. This place is worth the price, most places in Austin that have these prices really aren’t worth it and certainly don’t have the portions to justify it. Definitely check it out, I was brought in (as a design snob) by the interior architecture and design, stayed for the food! Quiet considered how busy, bright interior with lots of sunlight peeking in, and clean. TRY IT!

    The Piña No Loco and crab tostadas were delicious, and the vibe was great. Our server was so nice and made the experience even better.

    ATX COCINA is my favorite restaurant downtown. The food is exactly what you think when eating in Austin. Great flavors and not your standard TexMex. I had a table for 2 in the bar area which was fine for my outing but may want to clarify if you need more privacy/space.

    The entire experience was fantastic and the restaurant always delivers an overall great experience. We had close friends come in from Atlanta and they wanted great Tex-Mex.

    Was originally worried it'd be super overpriced, but the portions were great and food tasted fantastic! Would recommend trying a bunch of the small plates and entrees are large enough to split- we tried the short rib and split among 3 people with 4 side dishes

    ATX Cocina’s food is always on point. We had the guacamole, queso fundido, crab tostadas, salmon, pork chop and the crab rellenos. Everything was perfect but the crab rellenos were something else. Absolutely amazing. I hope they can keep these on the menu. We haven’t had bad service here until tonight. Guy just wasn’t attentive and kept forgetting to bring what we’d asked for or bring it way later (asked for more bottled water mid meal, came after the plates were clear).
