Purple Café and Wine Bar pairs a global wine selection with a menu that combines classic American styles with seasonal Northwest ingredients.

We feature an expansive menu ranging from artisan cheeses, starters, soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas to pasta and seafood. We take a great deal of pride in utilizing the most fresh and local ingredients.

On the wine side of things our wine list features over 80 glass and 600 bottle selections. tender mussels! wine was a bit wanting (it was the cheapest, TBF) a little on the loud side. Very professional wait staff, relaxed approach from all of them, but never felt like they didn't care.

Overall the service was slow and the food very over prices for the portion size and value. The server was unhappy when we decided only to have appetizers, and not a main dinner. When we asked for the bill, the server put the bill down, walked away and left us there for quite some time (about 15 minutes) before we tracked down the manager to pay the bill. Will not return.

We had a great time at dinner here. The food and service were great. We had the miso burger, the vegan roasted cauliflower dish and the mango sorbet for dessert. Very flavorful! Will be back.

Excellent food, nice setting and attentive service from our server. Only concern is for the 20 minutes it took for our cocktail to be served and longer for our starter. Timing of the kitchen in a very busy restaurant seemed to be an issue.

Purple is one of my favorite downtown restaurants to go to. If you make reservations you are sure to enjoy yourself! I want to thank the staff for making our dinner memorable. It may be a little loud but the food is worth it. We went early and it was great! Go and have fun.

Overall was disappointed. The food was expensive and okay but nothing special. The service was extremely slow and once we had our order taken we didn’t see our server again. We had to get up and ask someone for the bill. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the atmosphere was nice, unfortunately wouldn’t go back.

ordered the crab cakes. both cakes were half brown on both sides. the other half was barely crispy. Duck skin not as crispy as in the past. I usually order the duck. there use to be a wine list book. now, the bottle list is a few pages printed front and back. purple feels less purple.

Everything was good But they promised me a candle in the dessert to surprise my husband to celebrate his birthday and they didn’t do it. I felt really disappointed. I had have a conversation through text messages and they sounded really excited about giving him the surprise 😣. ——— Reply to the answer they gave me privately to the previous review I left: Thank you for the answer guys but this is not about putting “2 candles” if I decide come back to celebrate him next year to compensate the lack of his 1 candle of this year. (which I thing sounds kind of a little burlesque to me?). I think an apology would have been enough. My husband had an amazing night, everything was perfect . My disappointment was just about that detail at the end of the dinner due is a tradition we have on birthdays. So, it is about the meaning, not about the quantity of candles. We always ask before to go a restaurant if they offer something similar to make a very little celebration at the end of the dinner and I did the same with you. But no worries, although this is the first time this happened to us , we really understand that sometimes this things can happen. Maybe it was more difficult because the arrangement was made through the text messages in this app . 1 candle is ok as long as you don’t forget it. Thanks again.

Things started out ok. Our server was kind enough to bring us paper menus without our having to ask. He took our order reasonably promptly and our food and beverages arrived timely. The food was certainly good. But once our dinner had been served we were kind of forgotten. Our empty plates sat in front of us for a long time before someone came to take them. We were never asked if we wanted dessert and even after asking for the check, we waited longer than we should have to get it. It's a little bit on the dark side for some dishes that actually require you be able to see, such as shrimp with tails still on that need to be removed before eating.

If you are a tourist looking for the best place to try unique wines- this is the place to go! Food was definitely good as well but the knowledge of the waiters/ servers and the uniqueness of the wine blew me away.

Took my son on a date night before going to the theater. It was a busy Friday night but service was prompt and our server was accommodating in meeting our show time. Our usual “go to” is the burrata and the crab mac and cheese. Both great! This time we had the salmon, robust in flavors but not too salty, crispy skin and he really enjoyed the vegetable that accompanied the dish. The cesar salad is always an easy decision here, crisp, fresh with the perfect amount of tang for the dressing. Lastly, we shared the crabcakes, which I highly recommend!
