    I think we had an unfortunate timing with a pretty rowdy group making lots of noise. Delicious food, top notch h service. Pretty pricey. Would return to celebrate etc.

    Was offered the option to eat inside or outside in the almost completely enclosed patio by the fire pit. We opted for the fire pit but think indoors would have been just as lovely (very elegantly decorated inside). Our waiter was delightful and recommended the beet salad to start off our meal. We ordered one to share and that was plenty for the both of us and a perfect (nicely dressed, fresh produce) way to start the meal. My husband had the special of the day which was a halibut and I ordered the lamb chops. Both were perfectly cooked and we loved our dishes. We shared 3 scoops of homemade sorbet (strawberry, raspberry, and coconut) for dessert and it was creamy, refreshing and sweet. They also provided us these lovely complementary chocolate truffles at the end. It is on the pricier side with mains primarily priced at $60. My lamb chops were $60 and my husband’s halibut I believe was $48. We were the last ones at the restaurant as we went on a weekday and arrived after 8pm as we were at the Refuge from 4-8pm (highly recommend going if you are in the area!) and did not feel rushed at all. The staff was so sweet and friendly. A perfect way to end the day.

    Excellent service. Main dishes were delicious but lacked creativity. Chef successfully experimented with appetizers that were not the usual fare found on most menus. Atmosphere is casual but elegant. Good place for a special occasion.

    First of all, the menu we were given is NOT the menu posted on Open Table. Tomato salad starter was less than creative, or good (very thin slices of tomato on a thin swipe of cheese? Then literally covered in 3 inches of frisee)? Artichoke and fontina ravioli was buried under corn, peas, and several other small vegetables. But lacked in seasoning. The vegetable ragu was mixed vegetables in a broth? Not a ragu,again, lacked seasoning. Our waitress was nice, but we saw little of her - it was clear they were under-staffed.

    Fabulous dinner. The pork belly appetizer was delicious. The Ad Astra bread was it’s as always, amazing. The crispy brussel sprouts were so good, that I was tempted to take an order “to go”. For the entree, my wife and I had the 7oz filet and I must say that it was one of the best filets we have ever had. A wonderful crispness on the outside, melt in your mouth tender with a flavorful sauce, tiny potatoes and snap peas. Absolutely delicious. I hope they continue to offer this dish. The only downside was the $40 corkage fee. Just a lovely place to eat.

    We live locally and went for the first time to Lucia for our anniversary. Our server, Alex, was attentive, knowledgeable and gracious. The food was fantastic and we shall make this restaurant a place for our special occasions.

    Fantastic experience at this year's heirloom tomato tasting event/lunch. Amazing service, attention to detail, and exquisite food and drinks that celebrated heirloom tomatoes. 100 percent recommend!

    Literally the BEST dinner we had in Carmel Valley and/ or Carmel by the Sea area. By FAR, this dinner was better than all others. Wonderful menu and perfectly prepared meals, paired with wine, amazing ambiance and beautiful surrounding for a quiet date night dinner! (We were staying here as well - gorgeous resort hotel!)

    Lulu, Luis and Colleen made our brunch an absolute delight! Every bite was better than the last, the coffee was perfection and the house-made corn tortilla chips were unparalleled. 11/10, will definitely go back.

    This is one of the most relaxing and beautiful places to have a perfect lunch. I go several times in the month. We truly enjoy it. The food is superbly delicious and we try to have the same waitperson each visit, Delia, who makes us feel right at home. Bottom line, it is without doubt one of the finest dining experiences in Carmel Valley

    We waited over 15 minutes for the host to sit us. He said hi to us, then disappeared & came back only to say that he was gonna go check on our table. We had 8:30pm reservations and were seated after 8:50pm. We waited until after our drinks to get water (although three separate people came to ask if we wanted water). Our waitress seemed out of it, she stopped in the middle of the specials to ask if she had already shared them with us, she had to come back to ask for our drink order and then didn’t wait for us to finish, she later forgot to bring us a different steak knife as they were more like butter knifes, but fortunately the food was good. We were there for our anniversary and didn’t even get an acknowledgement. Not sure will be going back.

    Expected more. Food was mediocre - fries were limp and barely warm, salad portion was meager. The live music on Sunday was terrific. Patio was nice but watch out for the Yellowjackets. Hostess and waitstaff were very good.

    We chose Lucia's because we wanted to lunch in a quiet spot that was beautiful and that also had great food and wonderful wine. Lucia's checked all of those boxes and more. Lulu was our server and she was outstanding -- friendly, attentive without being intrusive -- she knew the menu items, had suggestions based on our questions, and knew her wines. Everything about Bernardus and Lucia's invited you to come, stay, relax on the picturesque patio, dine, and decompress. It was very tough to leave. Thank you for a wonderful lunch with my friend for over 50 years. I highly recommend Lucia's.

    Great place, great food. Great place for celebrations as well as everyday meals. Staff are very kind and helpful. This is the first restaurant where I had a server ask all of us our names .. it was a very welcoming touch!

    We dined at Carmel valley ranch the night before dining at Lucia and the service and ambiance at Lucia were far and above that of Carmel valley ranch. We had the artichoke ravioli and the ny strip, preceded by delicious fresh salads, and follows by yummy desserts. We are able to walk the ground after dinner as we were not staying at the lodge and enjoyed a game of bocce ball to end the night. A delightful and delicious experience. Donice was our server and she was personable and kind!
