   For being an elegant dining experience, we were disappointed in being seated so close to the bar where patrons were enjoying watching a hockey game. In the middle of our conversation all of a sudden screaming and cheering erupted because some team scored a goal. If we wanted to have dinner at a sports bar, we would have gone to a sports bar.

   The restaurant is reasonably quiet, a blessing in these loud times. Service is outstanding. The food is uneven, and expensive. The space is attractive, although it would be better with tablecloths; for an upscale restaurant, it is pretty minimal in decor.

   We came here for a very special occasion, only to find out there was full-blown construction happening at the pool. We ended up sitting on the patio, listening to and watching construction workers. The only reason we didn’t stay inside was because it was completely dead. The food was nothing special—pretty much what you’d expect from a hotel restaurant. The only highlight of the experience was our server and the valet team, who were both great.

   This restaurant is very special to my husband and I. We ate here on the night of our engagement almost 4 years ago and we got engaged down the street. We returned recently for our babymoon. My husband says The Loft is one of his favorite restaurants in the world, lined up with some of the most renown Michelin star restaurants in Europe! The food is phenomenal and I like that the menu is classic - meaning it doesn’t change very much from year to year. On our engagement night, I had the diver scallops. It’s still on the menu (and I highly recommend order it)! During our most recent visit, I had the filet mignon with the Maine lobster supplement. The filet was too salty, unfortunately making it not very enjoyable. My husband ordered the classic coffee NY strip, which was also very salty. We always enjoy their homemade sourdough and cultured butter, though. Next time, I would just tell the kitchen that we’re sensitive to sodium. Otherwise, this is a restaurant we’d return to again and again.
