   Our server I think Tony was so nice and helpful, beef strogonoff could have had a little more sauce. Overall fabulous.

   Great spot I never knew about despite living in the area for years. Food was quality and large portions. Great ambiance overlooking the boats in marina with live music in background. Birthday meal was awesome. Service was slow, but we were in no hurry and enjoying, so didn't mind so much.

   Made reservations two weeks ahead, I got a confirmation phone call from the restaurant a couple of days before, yet on the day of, I got a phone call from the restaurant stating that they were booked and they had to seat us at the lounge. Needless to say I was extremely upset, it was my good friends Bday and wanted to make it special for her, but it started pretty bad. I told the girl that she need it to figure it out, I make reservation at the restaurant and not at the lounge. She call me back and stated that unfortunately she had no room at the restaurant for us. When we got there, she told me the same thing and when I asked her why this was happening when the reservation was make days in advance she said because the reservations was done through open table. I asked to speak with the manager, he managed to get a couple of tables together for us and after 30 minutes of waiting, we had a table at the restaurant. The weir thing was that as we started moving toward our table, most tables in the restaurant were clearing up??? This was so confusing for me and my friends. Michael the manager took good care of us, but I will never go back there again.

   I didn’t get the table I requested, and the service was exceptionally slow. I had to try to get the server’s attention a number of times. Food as always was exceptional!!

   Taking advantage of Dine LA to try out Baleen Kitchen for the first time. We were not disappointed. Everything was great, food, service and ambiance. It will be one of our favorite places from now on.

   Our server recommended the chicken and I never order chicken when out to eat. It was amazing. Best chicken ever. I would definately have it again.

   I went here with a friend for the dineLA dinner special because I’ve had numerous pleasant dining experiences here in the past. Tonight the service from our waiter was subpar. He seemed distracted, hard to “find” and inattentive. His busboy and another delightful server, Miles, saved the experience for us. The kitchen and bar also seemed a bit off, with things being nicely presented, but tasting “just ok”. The setting was lovely, as always. I am really hoping this was an aberration and hope to be back to find what I’d come to expect from BALEENKitchen. I don’t think I’ll be able to convince my friend to return however. It brings to mind the saying “You never get a second chance to make a first impression”, And I suspect most people do not return to a restaurant if their first impression of it was not good.

    The server was friendly but awful in the service area.He did not split our order. When we asked for another plate we never received one. The people behind us that ordered the exact same thing split had their salads and dinner split properly. I also requested extra dressing for the salad which had blue cheese. 10 minutes later he arrived with Caesar dressing. When he asked us if we would like to order a dessert we said yes, but he came back for the order about 10 minutes or so later. Mind you, this was not a busy evening and they seemed to have plenty of waiters. This is not the first time I have received poor service. We go back because we have a boat in the Marina so it is convenient for us and the food is pretty good. They need to train their staff so it’s run smoothly.
