Wood & Vine
Wood and Vine is a New American restaurant and cocktail bar with a vintage Hollywood feel and expansive patio. We offer a menu of seasonal, ingredient-driven shared plates in a social atmosphere, complemented by local small batch beers and wines, and classic craft cocktails. Our kitchen is open until midnight, Tuesday-Saturday.

Out of steak sliders and Brussel sprouts. We were there at 7pm and the place was empty. It’s not like they ran out of these items ... did someone forget to go to the supermarket today? My beer glass was delivered a few inches short of being full, twice. They attempted to take away our plates twice while we were still eating our dinner, twice. Listen, we like the room, and we loved this place when we ate here a year ago. What happened?
This is our go to place for dinner before the Pantages but this night everything was off. There is a new chef and the menu has changed. Some of the staples, like the brussel sprouts, and lettuce wedges were out! How are you out of lettuce? There are numerous grocery stores in the area, the chef could have gotten more supplies but the excuse we got is they ran out the night before...no excuse. Our waiter truly felt bad and it was not his fault and gave us drink tickets for our next visit. We sat upstairs which is not normally where I want to sit because of the noise level . I will be back but not impressed with the new menu or the Chef.
Fabulous brunch date introducing my boyfriend to the lifestyle
We always enjoy Wood & Vine - a gen on Hollywood Blvd.
Great food, wine list and drinks... Wally is an amazing, personal and connected General Manager who cares and takes care of regulars and makes new Guests feel welcomed and appreciated.
Love this place!
Excellent comfortable and convenient place for a break or a pre-theatre meal
LOVE this place - the Magnolia is the best cocktail ever invented.
Beautiful patio area, wonderful food. Perfect pre-theater dining- will definitely return.
I have been to this restaurant twice because we are season ticket holders for the Pantages Theatre across the street. The first time was great we sat on the patio and had a wonderful experience. We were told by the chef that the menu will change often so we were excited to come back before the next show. The food was good but the service was horrible. I was a waitress in LA for many years and I understand the industry, so I am very understanding and appreciative of the wait staff. However, this was really bad, we had to flag our waiter down everytime we needed something. He never got around to checking on us. The worst was the food runners who brought the food and never took any of the empty plates with them. We were 4 people and ordered 3 appetizers and 3 main courses because the restaurant is family style. Each time something was delivered nothing was cleared or removed so I ended up having to move our dishes to the empty table next to us just so we could have space. Why would you drop food at the corner of a table and walk way with nothing in your hands, when the table you just visited has empty plates on the center of the table. I really should of said something that night, but I didn’t. So I am reviewing it here.
The view from our table was Fabulous! Incredible service! Great food, well priced!
Wally Moran took such good care of us. It was our first time at the Wood & Vine. Can't wait to return! Would absolutely recommend this restaurant!
The food was good and the service was also good but we were sitting on the patio directly next to a building with numerous air conditioning units blasting away so you felt like there was a 747 flying above you the entire time. This really needs to be reviewed because you really don’t want to try and have dinner in such a noisy chaotic place. Really you can barely hear yourself think. This can’t be right.
We went for a late dinner this past weekend and were disappointed by the menu selections. We are low carb and my wife doesn't eat pork so we realize we are a bit picky in this regard, but the mains on the menu here offered little for someone like us. We inquired about the "steak for two" option listed on the menu with no price. The server informed us it was a 30 oz. steak for sharing (though he couldn't tell us what cut of steak it was) with two sides--asparagus and mac & cheese--and a dessert for $130. I said we were low carb and didn't want the dessert or the mac & cheese and I inquired what the price would be without those. "The same," was his reply. Given there were no real other options on the menu we chose to leave after drinking our cocktails and go next door to Delphine's at the W where we were accommodated quickly and had a great meal.
We had a great server! And a fantastic meal. Great atmosphere.
Food was decent but the menu isn’t all that big and they were out of at least two items. We sat down and two women in the table next to us we’re having the Kavanaugh discussion. We moved tables as that was the last thing my wife and I wanted to hear last night.
Chicken and Waffles was very good as was Kale Caesar salad. Trout was average as was Brussel sprouts. Right across the street from Pantages so that is very nice.
Would recommend Cleo though once that reopens for pre Pantages dining.
I always come here before the theatre. Really like it and the menu is always good
Over priced for a very limited menu and they included a 20% tip in the final bill. A Very loud group and noisy AC system from surrounding buildings made for a lot of noise.
While I was not overly impressed with the "Lil Wedges", I was very pleased with the fresh and flavorful "Shrimp and Grits". The dish had just the right amount of spiciness and the shrimp (very close to being prawns) were plump and cooked perfectly!
First time here, and loved it. Love the idea of shared plates for our main course, and having the one price bill at the end (no tip), is I think a great idea.... server was excellent, and even with the dessert that we ordered (and later were told they were out), he offered us any other choice as a comp to make up for it... Just looking forward to our return.
This has been our go-to restaurant for when we see something at the Pantages, and for the first time we regretted going. The restaurant was clearly slammed, but it took almost 20 minutes before we were even greeted by a server. Food came out quickly, but nothing was as billed. The burgers came out first (weird), one a perfect medium rare, the other almost well done. The brussels sprouts were dry - tasted neither salted nor dressed. Same with the Kale Caesar. We were eventually able to flag someone down for more dressing for both, and noticed other tables asking for the same. The chips with the ahi tartar were stale. They were taken off our bill, but we would have preferred better chips. Maybe an off day, but I'm afraid we'll try out someplace else next time.
Great provided you don’t care about service and that your waiter knows about the menu items and the food as it is prepared. Ours had “no clue” about the “chicken and waffles” and told us us incorrectly. He also got the hamburger order wrong. Having an automatic 20% tip disincentives good service
I liked the location, it was very convenient for those going to a show at the Pantages. The decor was cool, but poor ventilation instead it smelled of cheese and fish. It was weird when we left, we smelled like it....not good. The service started out great, somewhere in between our waiter must have gone on break, but the girl who took over was fine just overwhelmed. I think she was covering all of the tables upstairs. Food was just okay, we tried the charcuterie, the chicken and waffles, Mac and cheese and the shrimp and grits. Nothing to write home about. The drink I had was sub par. It was a grapefruit drink that was so synthetically sweet I couldn’t drink it. We even tried the peach cobbler but even that was just so so.
Amazing restaurant, amazing service, great food, just an all around perfect evening.
Friends recommended Wood and Vine for small sharing plates.
Interesting and varied menu choices, some of which work well (especially the desserts), some less well (smoked trout plate, scotch eggs). Not a gourmet destination, but fun and very cordial and attentive service.
I've enjoyed Wood & Vine many times over the past few years. Perfect spot for before or after the show at the Pantages. Love most the outdoor patio. The ambiance is great and when the weather is truly nasty the inside is cozy and inviting. Highly recommend. Be sure to make reservations because they get quite busy!
Went in before going the the theatre, great vibe. Loved the fireplace seating, the waiter brought us 2 glasses of champagne immediately after being seated as they knew we were celebrating our new engagement. That was pretty cool!! The food was mediocre, the menu was not very enticing. We got the Brussels sprouts, they were very good. We also ordered the shrimp with polenta, it was good but a little greasy. I can't really remember the other dish but it was just ok. Overall, I would come back for the atmosphere but the food could be better. Too many hip and creative places for this restaurant not to step up it's game.
Loved it. My Wife and her good friend both celebrating their birthdays (same date - what are the odds - God's honest truth) were treated like royalty by the staff and the Manager. Drinks and food were excellent. Next time in town, it is our Go-To place.
This was our first experience with the restaurant, and we would definitely return. Everything was fresh and delicious, including the cheese board, the Brussel sprouts, and the burgers/fries. We shared everything on the table (as suggested by the waiter).
We went in for an early dinner before a show. The menu is designed to share. After asking questions about the menu, the chef appeared at our table. His description of the entree sounded delicious and we planned on ordering it when our waiter returned. Before that happened, the dish (pork shanks) was delivered to our table - compliments of the chef. Excellent food, drinks, service, and value. You won't be disappointed.
We love to come to Wood & Vine whenever we are in Hollywood. Excellent service and the food is the best.
On this last visit, my partner asked for a side of blue cheese for his fries and when they didn’t have any the Chef came out talk to him and re-created his own take on blue cheese a buttermilk, dill, chunky blue cheese. Talk about going above and beyond!
Our food came before our drinks did. It wasnt crowded but we got rushed out just because everything came at once. Service people were very nice
The food was great. It was very crowded and our wait staff did their best.
Food is good, nice 'share' menu items. The seating is 'tight'...your right next to, shoulder-to-shoulder with others. Nice rear open patio area. A bit confusing on who your server is...someone takes your order, a different person brings food, someone else takes plates away. One last thing: no regular beer (Corona, Heineken).
Did the “prior to the pantages show” dinner...myself and my date. Waiter was very nice and the wait staff was even better. Our water and soda glasses were never dry. Not a huge variety of food options so check out the menu prior to booking the reservation. But the food was great. Wine was good too. Loved the shareable style of plates. It was only myself and my date so we didn’t have issues with the food arriving at vastly different times (we shared one meal). I assume with a large group that might be a bigger problem. Overall I really liked the place as did my date. Would go again and would recommend to everyone.
The share plates are a great size and delicious! Quick for a meal before a show.
Very kind waitstaff, easy to make a reservation, nice and quiet at 5pm on a Saturday. I don’t think the prices are quite worth what you get food-wise but it was really nice overall! Cool place, great ambiance, clean bathroom...yay!
A little pricey for a small portions but excellent taste and delicious food
Always love this place....and Wally the GM. Love the outdoor patio dining area and a great place to eat before or after the Pantages.
Terrible experience, bad food, overpriced, took 45 mins just to get French fries
We love it here before Pantages' shows! Great food, extraordinary service and drinks. The fun thing is being across the street from the theater and having a wonderful meal while anticipating a fabulous show! I believe it is THE pre-theatre spot. There are several others to choose from - more expensive, better ambience, etc, but this is the best of the bunch. We come here when it isn't a theatre night, too, so that speaks volumes. Check it out!
