The buttermilk pancakes were completely tasteless. While the coconut syrup, macadamia nuts and bananas were nice additions, the pancakes themselves were without merit. Portuguese sausage and bacon was delicious.

Great place to eat breakfast and have a view of the water! This was our first time in Kona but this place was recommended by our airbnb host. We enjoyed our meals- I shared photos of what we each had. Worth the price, staff was friendly and attentive.

Our experience was wonderful. I would like to highlight that Leah was very helpful on food recommendations and she was spot on. We stop in Kona on our way to Hilo 4-5 times a year and will make this a permanent stop. Thank you to all the folks at Lava Java.

Our server was friendly, efficient and aware of our needs without hovering. Thank you! We were celebrating a birthday so we kept the table longer than we typically would but were not rushed out. Thank you. Food was tasty, fresh and came out of the kitchen very quickly. Overall a great experience.

Took my family out for Mother’s Day dinner and was disappointed with the food. I ordered steak and it was mostly fat and the veggies were undercooked so I took two bites and left still hungry. My mom ordered seafood pasta and she also wasn’t pleased with it. Should’ve complained about it but we didn’t so probably just not going back.

We love this place, but I think the cook was having a bad day--potatoes came out cold and the eggs in by Eggs Benedict were cooked solid. The Lilikoi mimosas were great!
