    We had a bay-side table that gave us an incredible view of San Diego Bay. The side dishes and popovers were very good. However, our entire meal was almost cold when served, obviously it was sitting in the kitchen for a long while after it was cooked. Two of us had the Wagyu porterhouse. It was disappointing, not much different than a USDA Choice steak.

    First visit in too long. There were four of us celebrating my wife’s birthday. Overall the experience was quite good. Drinks were enjoyable, appetizers were excellent. For appetizers we had the Wagyu Ribeye Tartare and the Ahi Crab & Avocado Stack. Delicious. The house biscuits were very good as well. Entrees: The ladies both opted for the Island Prime Filet Trio (medium) and were very pleased. I had some of one of these (see below) and had to agree with them. Highly recommended. Son-in-law opted for the skirt steak (medium rare) which was quite good and excellently prepared. I opted for the Snake River Farms 'Eye of the Ribeye', (medium rare). This, unfortunately, was the low point of the meal. Searing was more like charring, steak was not at all juicy and a bit chewy and just not tasty. Gave sample slices to the others who all agreed that of the choices made, it was the least enjoyable. Only ate a few bites of this. I was offered something else to replace this, but passed on the offer. Frankly, I BBQ better steaks at home. Giving credit where it is very due, the manager dropped the cost of this from our check. Since my wife is a light eater, I finished her filets, so no one left hungry. We had onion rings and Sharp Cheddar Mac 'n Cheese as side dishes. Both good. Although one of the entrees was a disappointment, everything else was excellent. A slice of a very decadent fudge cake with a candle was given to the birthday girl in which we all shared. Our server Nicole was top notch, friendly and attentive. She helped make our meal a quite enjoyable experience. Summing things up, we will certainly be back. Quite obviously, they care about their customers and with the one exception, the food was splendid and the service excellent. I find that in San Diego, Cohn restaurants are consistently good with Island Prime being one of my favorites.

    I dined here with my husband to celebrate his 50th birthday. The food was delicious, the service was great and the view was amazing. When I booked I noted we were celebrating a birthday and the staff did a great job making it extra special. We were seated at one of the best tables with the perfect view. We watched a beautiful sunset as we ate our dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. We both enjoyed lobster bisque, steaks and macaroni and cheese. I would recommend all three. After dinner our server brought a slice of chocolate cake that was rich and tasted heavenly. It was a memorable evening and we will definitely return when we’re in town.

    Great restaurant. Reservation tonight 615 for BD party. Had Brie and Capresse appetizers. Excellent. Main dishes double cut pork chop , seared tuna, trio filets and 20 ounce rib eye. All perfect. Sides mushrooms, mash potatoes and asparagus. Delicious. Highly recommend .

    The resteraunt is beautiful but the food quality is just not what it used to be we paid 95.00 each my salad was missing crotons, the NY steak was very chewy and my filet mignon tasted like it was just sitting in bbq sauce the meat itself has no flavor

    We enjoyed lunch experience at Island Prime, ambiance was very nice, the views are amazing! We had the Mothers Day Menu, the food was good however we did have a couple of issues with the Lobster Bisque and the Tuna entree. The Bisque was good but not very creamy and its was separating, the Tuna Steak was very tough and lacked flavor. The desserts were great and we enjoyed our over all experience except for the 5% surcharge on your total bill. I would encourage the owners to reflect that in the menu prices rather than gouge you on the over all bill, I’d have more for the owners. I will say they are upfront about it at least. Thankfully this will not be an issue after July 1st.

    My wife and I along with our two daughters went for their Mother's day brunch. The menu was excellent (both adult and kids versions). We enjoyed the food (and ocean view) very much.

    It was the best Mother's Day ever! The food, service, view, ambiance, decor, everything was perfect! I'm totally impressed and recommend everyone to go and experience Island Prime.
