About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for fine wines
  • Neighborhood gem
ST. JOHN Bread & Wine reflects the rhythms of its locale whilst observing the same respect for seasonal, indigenous ingredients and "the whole beast" as the bigger sister restaurant. Currently opening for dinner, Tuesday to Saturday, this branch very much beats its own drum with a menu structured towards a slightly less formal manner of dining, with guests actively encouraged to share dishes as they're ready from the kitchen.

As well as selling goods to take home from our bakery, wines by the bottle or the case can be bought from our lists to take home with some delivery available.

Bread & Wine has been voted Best British Restaurant by the Evening Standard and named as best value restaurant by The Observer Food Monthly.

Good, wine and service were all great but it's really too noisy for us oldies. Needs some sound adsorbing pamels

The food was great. I felt the service lacking. Long wait for everything and the waiters where not available in spite of the restaurant being half full.

Our party of 5, including 18 month old granddaughter, enjoyed a stunning Sunday lunch. We booked for 1.45 which was a great time. Plenty of lively chatter to drown out little ones demands for ‘more bread’! Service was excellent from the knowledgeable team who just got the whole meal off on the right foot. We had a great selection of food and excellent drinks, both non and alcoholic. We felt relaxed and left with a bag of madeleines and a donut! St John’s is not cheap but I feel that for the price point, given the quality of ingredients, it represents good value. It was worth it just to see granddaughters face when she tried the ox tongue - she loved it! We shall be back again!
