Restaurateur Artie Cutler crafted Carmine's with a singular vision; bringing his guests abundant portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of made to order pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing among friends and family. When in DC we always come and enjoy Carmines! Best variety and taste of Italian food around! Party of 6 ~ we ordered the ceasar salad, calamari, stuffed mushrooms, chicken marsala, angelhair pasta w/ oil and the shrimp scampi ~ plenty of food!!! And the taramasu and chocolate bread pudding was AMAZING!!! Always a GO TO!!

The family menu was our choice. We went with the seafood pasta even though it seemed overpriced. It was good but not fabulous. Probably won't be back.

We went to Zaytinya, Oyamel, Founding Farmers and Reren Lamen and they were fantastic. The food and service at Carmines was not even as good as the Smithsonian cafeterias.

I have been here multiple times. Once with my family of 4 and once with a big group. Both were fantastic! What a value in downtown DC. I will be back when in DC.

Carmine’s was the best after a long day at the museums. It was a short walk from the Smithsonian’s in the Lincoln Circle Neighborhood. It was nice and quiet even though a school group came in when we did. The portions are family style so everything is supersized but delicious! We are ordered the meatballs and spaghetti which were fabulous. Our server was very attentive and patient with our questions. I highly recommend Carmine’s but come hungry.

This is a nice family-friendly restaurant in Chinatown, I would recommend it for a big family dinner or while touring the DC downtown. The dining area is pretty big and portions are generous.
