We were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant which we had somehow overlooked for years right across from the statehouse. The restaurant is a little dated but still has charm and park views. The service was exceptional and the food, especially the prune gnocchi and ricotta fritters, was top notch. I would go back just for the ricotta fritters--highly recommend.

The quality of the food was outstanding. We had chosen the 6 course tasting menu and we don't regret it at all. The food was refined and tasty and the presentation was beautiful. We did appreciate a little less the decoration (we were sitting in quite a dark room at the back) that would really need to be refreshed, especially the bathroom (!), to math the high standing of the gastronomy that we've been served. The service was great although we noticed a few flaws, again for such a high standing restaurant.

We loved No. 9 Park. Our experience from the food, wine, atmosphere and service were a 10. I love that it's an elevated culinary experience with high touch service yet very approachable and genuine. Kim, our server, she took great care of us. She was kind, knowledgeable and was wonderful at reading the ebb and flow our conversation. Chef Elvis came out to visit with us, wonderful to meet him. We really enjoyed hearing about his journey to being Chef at No. 9 Park. The food was refined, stunningly presented and tasted divine. Kim's wine recommendation based on our preferences shared with her was spot on, Pagliaro 2017. All four of us were from out of town and plan to return next time we are in Boston. The manager I believe, didn't catch her name, was very much a part of the evening as well. Thanks to the No. 9 Park team that made our evening truly memorable.

Great ambiance sitting at the windows and people watching during the dinner. Food was creative, excellently prepared and served. What stood out were the sauces, and also enjoyed many off-menu items that better fit our food preferences (more vegan and healthier). The prune gnocchi was a fave! Not sure if we would have enjoyed sitting away from the window, as it was a bit dark in the back.

No.9 Park…Iconic Boston Elegance, Fabulous Food, Knowledgeable Friendly Service….Excellence without Pretension…A Rare Combination Indeed ~ Celebrating our Kid’s First Anniversary Seated in the ‘Window’ we Ordered the Chef’s Tasting Menu with Wine Pairing….TRUST me….DO This….Pre-Dinner Cocktails Perfect & Delicious ~ 6-7 Courses, Each a Symphony of Taste and Beauty ~ Standouts for me the Raw Fish with a dollop of unexpected Buttermilk Crème, DO Add On the ‘House’ Prune Gnocchi Course…you will Thank Me….the Tasty Succulent Lamb and the not to be missed YUM to the TUM Chocolate Soufflé ~ only slight disappointment was the Chicken….pretty but not special, however, c’est la vie! Wine Selections TRULY Wonderful! Interesting pairings that each worked so well with the Food ~ We LOVED hearing the back story of each vineyard/vintage shared by our terrific server with every pour! Expensive? Of Course! But WELL Worth the Trip….for me, every visit to No.9 feels like a holiday from ‘real life’…Bon Appetit! ❤️

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner while we were visiting Boston for a combination work and vacation trip. I found No. 9 Park on a blog about great restaurants in Boston and when I saw that their signature dish was a gnocchi (one of my husband's faves), I added it to the list of places to book. We arrived early for our reservation but they were able to seat us right away. We ordered cocktails and the server was great at handling our questions and requests. The "This is the Way" cocktail is so crazy-unique we will be thinking about that for a long time to come! We ordered the Chef's Tasting Menu w wine pairing and were thrilled! The house-special gnocchi was delicious, but I think my favorite course was the arctic char, followed by my husband's fave - the chicken. I know, chicken? YES, the chicken! And the wine pairings were all wonderful as well. The server was a little reserved at first, but became much more talkative as we asked him questions about the wine and the courses. Quite an enjoyable evening and we may even try to get back there before we leave town for another taste of the great cocktails.

The rabbit entree was delicious but the bass entree was nothing to write home about. The cocktails were just okay. The service was a bit too attentive, with our mostly full water glasses being “filled” every 3 minutes, frequently interrupting our conversation.

What can I say…. The service and food was off tonight. The staff was disorganized the entire night. Plates were not cleared in a timely manner, missing plate setting for table of three. Food was delivered and I sat there with no utensils and plate. Check was delivered before the espresso and cappuccino they forgot completely. The food was uneventful. It was like the pairing did not complement each other. Also, some of the worst carrot cake I have had. Sorry chef, we were expecting an experience, however we were underwhelmed. Overall 3 stars for beautiful venue.

DO NOT SUPPORT BARBARA LYNCH. I couldn’t believe the chanting and yelling I heard coming from the kitchen. The overall restaurant was run down and dirty. The plates had grey scratches, the bathrooms were not clean, and one of the chairs at our table was wobbly. The food was overpriced, underwhelming, and took a very long time to arrive. The ricotta fritters were overly saturated in oil from the fryer, and a large piece of the duck meat was significantly undercooked. The tagliatelle pasta was also undercooked. The meat sauce in tagliatelle bolognese was flavorful, but very salty.

Big thank you to everyone who made our night so amazing! The food, wine, and ambiance were fabulous. Service was incredible as well! Miranda was gracious enough to stop by and even gifted my grandma Barbara Lynch’s book. This meant so much to my grandma visiting from LA. She’s a big fan of Barbara Lynch and her restaurants so it was really special. I’m so grateful for the time and care put into an incredible experience! I already can’t wait to go back! Thank you all!

It does not get better than this. Brilliant, highly knowledgeable service without stuffiness. Impeccable food throughout: creative, yet classic, and letting the key ingredients shine. Great, intimate room and location - bar and some tables with views over Boston Common. Several generous touches of lagniappe added to our experience by our server. Expensive yes, but amid the parade of costly forgettable restaurants, you will leave #9 Park feeling special and you won't forget what you ate.

This is a review of the food only, starting with the wine. The options for glasses and half bottles of wine are very limited and disappointing. The prune gnocchi was excellent as always. The agnolotti and ricotta fritters were very good. The red snapper was sodden (as in water logged) and tasteless. The turnip served with it was crunchy, very under cooked. The venison was mediocre and bland tasting. The chocolate souffle was almost tasteless -- it was sweet with nearly undetectable chocolate flavor. The texture was dry and nothing akin to a homemade souffle. In fact, the dish tasted as though it had come out of a package. All in all, a somewhat disappointing meal.

A very disappointing dinner. Average food surprised us. Terrible service really surprised us, though the restaurant manager did make it up to us by comping the whole dinner (wine included despite our specifically saying we'd be happy to pay for that). We had lack of table clearing, wrong items brought for wrong persons, over pours on wine, lack of confidence by our server, and then being told 2/3 throufh dinner that they were out of the steak tartare our firned had ordered originally. It wasn't a good night for the restaurant by any measure. We didn't have the heart to express our disappointment in the quality of the food after they compd the meal, but the striped bass and duck were overcooked, and the pastas were lukewarm at best. Not good.

Only time I have rated Outstanding, mostly because of the really wonderful food. My wife and I eat out ~5 times each week. We haven’t been to No. 9 Park in at least a year. My wife and I each had an Appetizer and a so-called Mid-Course dish, with no Entre. Each dish was terrific with very generous portions. We never would have been able to consume Entres on top of all we ate. We’ll be back very soon for another evening of delicious eating!
